Dude! Great video, thanks for the tabs but more importantly from one GTK Core user to another, thanks for the patches info!! Your videos have been incredibly helpful
This is the best rendition of this great song I’ve heard! Thank you for taking the time to display the tab! I also play bass and electric guitar at Church and we will be playing this song at the end of the month. I’m trying to figure out how to get the tabs for the entire son on one sheet of paper for our practice sessions. I am not as skilled a player as you are so every bit of help I will greatly appreciate! Thank you for very much for sharing!!!!
Thank you for this it is very helpful. We are learning this song in our church and do not have a lot of resources, I have to try and figure out the parts, and finely someone with a Boss. I have a GT 8, it is hard to fine anyone who uses Boss instead of the Helix. Once again Thank you so much.
Sounds good. My nephew is Blaine Stark who is the lead in the video by Phil Wickham. Not sure if he wrote the lead for this song or not, I'll have to ask, but it is his style of play. Sort of Mike Campbell where a little is more than enough.
I was wondering what kind of bridge pick up you are using. I want to change my SSS to a HSS. I thought about a lambertone grinder. By the way great video, helped me a lot.
It’s a Tom Anderson HC2 that is stock on the guitar. It’s a darker sounding pickup with soft highs and a boost in the mids. I had to adjust the patch EQ in various locations to compensate for it. I would say it’s not the typical P&W pickup, but like all pickups, you can adjust the EQ in the modeler to get it to where you need it to be. An SSS has 250k pots. A humbucker will need 500k, so you would need to replace the pots. Or you can look for humbuckers that are sized as single coils so they look like single coils. And they are designed to still use 250k pots. So more plug and play. But they won’t sound as big as true humbuckers.
Yeah I use this same setup live at church. I make a string of patches that follows the sequence of the song. Then I just “patch up” as we play. Minimizes foot tap dancing. But this is where the Big Sky comes in as it makes the patch changes seamless. Otherwise the GT1000 reverb would cut off and start again with each patch change. The Big Sky is in the effects loop in stereo located as shown in the video. But lately live I’ve been playing mono but for these videos it is stereo.
Yes that is correct. Activate the “Stereo link mode” and the 2 S/R blocks join as one for stereo. The main goal is to put the reverb before the cab block. The cab sim will make the reverb trail sound less digital. And it’s “pedals in front of the amp” approach. Otherwise I would love to put the big sky after the Gt1000 and use the S/R for external stomp boxes (like a POG) but for now I need to prioritize it for the Big sky.

Wow that is awesome! Yeah it takes a good ear to know how to serve the song and not over play. Tell your nephew great job!
Great job on a great song.
thank you
Thank you for the encouragement!
How'd it go? 🙂
As always beautifully done! Out of interest, are you using a Herdim pick?
Thank you! I use a Dunlop Delrin 500 1.14mm pick. 😀

Ok thanks for the feedback!
Really brilliant version and great tutorial. Please send me the tabs, thanks!
Thank you so much for the encouraging words! The tabs are in the video. 😉
Amazing job! Your tone is on point, and love that you are using a GT Core.
Would you be willing to share your effects signal chain? What your using?
Yeah in the second half of the video I show which effects/order/parameter values. So let me know if any questions!
Wow!! Great job! Do you use your GT Core live at church?
Do you run your Big Sky through the FX Loop? Do you run it stereo or mono?

That’s great. That means you are using the two s/r FX loops on the Core to run the strymon in stereo?

Thank you. Can you tell me what key this is in?
It’s in the key of C.
