This phone is a real BEAST, no doubt about it. It's been almost a year since I bought it, and I'm like 95, maybe 97% happy with it. The display is absolutely GORGEOUS, but... it comes with a price. And for me, it's the form factor. I don't mind the boxy look, and I actually prefer sharp corners over the rounded ones. I think the media experience is just better and more "natural" that way, but I can also understand why some people prefer rounded corners. What bothers me most, though, is how heavy and bulky the phone is. My previous phone was (and felt) sooo much lighter and slimmer, and I still can't get used to the Galaxy S24 Ultra bulkiness. It just feels like holding a massive brick in your hand, let alone one-hand operation. It also sticks out a lot from your pocket, and it's just not a comfortable phone to carry around. I wish it were at least a bit lighter or thinner, but it's just huge. I'm also a bit paranoid about dropping it all the time, and I actually dropped it a few times already due to its weight and bulkiness. Luckily, I have a solid case on (which also adds up to the bulkiness), and there was no damage so far. But there, the fear is always there. The other issue I have is the battery drain overnight. I mean, it's not terrible, but it's like 1% per hour, so I always see my battery less at least 8-10% in the morning. I tried EVERYTHING, night mode, battery saving mode, and nothing works. It's just weird. My previous phone drained battery overnight like 3-5%, but this one is like 8-10% no matter what. Again, it's not a big deal, but it's a bit annoying. Otherwise, it's a great phone, and I think I'm not even using its full potential as I thought I would. I'm wondering what the new S25 Ultra is going to be like.
I bought the S23 Ultra from the official for about $500 after discounts and it is probably the best deal I've gotten for an ultra phone. I'll probably stick to using this phone until software support for it is finished
I have the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, and this has been the best and overall greatest smartphone experience I've ever had in my life. I'll be using this phone until it completely runs out of software and security updates, which will be in 2028, when the Samsung Galaxy S28 Ultra is released. Even when I upgrade to that phone, I will never sell, trade, or get rid of my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. It's just such an amazing piece of tech that it deserves its own plaque on my wall. The s24u is where Samsung started to cheapen out. It lacks the curved glass and 10x optical zoom. Even if you love flat displays and constantly use the 5x it is hard to deny that the s24u is just a cost cut s23u.

@memememine1 I'm not sure I can agree with that. Exactly! Any flagship phone can easily last 4-6 years without issues. No point in upgrading every year or two. I had the note 10 plus and rocked it for almost 5 years and only traded it in for s24 ultra coz of the battery draining fast. But that was kinda my fault for letting the battery drop below 20% occasionally on the note 10 plus.

This may be my outcome as well. I also have the s23u 1tb. Wanted the flat screen and better battery. Bought the 24u and battery was worse so I sent it back. I prefer the sharp corners, so due to the change I may try a pixel pro next go around.
@ What does Apple has to do with what you wrote and what i wrote back to u? Everything changes by time you, your hair, your behaviour, your sexlife etc etc it's called evolution..
I have the S23-U. While it will be receiving updates for a few more years, the battery is already showing signs of getting "tired" sooner even though I've been using the overcharging protection function since Day 1. I love the S-Pen integration. If the battery weren't an issue, I'd be happy with my phone for another year or two... or three. Maybe a refurb S24-U instead? But I do love the S23-U camera setup much more.
from i phone changed to S24 ultra and still love it..for me design make me happy and qulity.. in future can you plese make video about the AI useage between 24 ultra and 25 ultra..
Well said! We agree wholeheartedly. Love the S24 Ultra for the reasons you state here, especially the Single Take camera setting. Awesome feature. The design is one of the best that Samsung came up with. We will pass on the S25U and similar designs coming up in future. Since we have 6 more years of the 7 year upgrade promise...it shall come to pass. Thank you.
Yep. No case (I do have camera covers though; changed those twice but at least they're protecting the lenses in my purse), many drops, no problem with dents, scratches, bad sound, bad mic, nothing. I bought it for the anti-glare, and it's matchless still. Love the shape and style. Considering picking up an extra S24U this year to replace this one. I did that with Note 4s for years (loved the crossing yourself on the Note 7 😂 ). Even S24's battery life blows my mind! First phone I haven't rooted. I like it very much. No upgrade plans, don't use AI; very content.
I think most people have been complaining about the olephobic coating rather than anti reflective. Before I could have water splashes or finger prints on my screen and wipe of easily but now it's a bit more difficult. Thankfully my case isn't as bad as others are stating. Regardless...best handset made and I do love and appreciate it till this very day...almost 12 months later
I think people have the wrong idea about that display issue. First of all, the anti-reflective aspect of the display glass is not a traditional coating. Its more like a modification of its surface. The issue people are experiencing is the oleophobic coating wearing off, due to either its poor quality, specific user's chemical composition of skin oils or using screen cleaning/disinfecting chemicals that are too aggressive for the coating. Could even be the wrong method of using screen cleaners as well, where the user sprays those directly on the screen and aggressively wipes it down. Though i have never experienced the oleophobic coating wearing off within a year on any device ive owned, and ive owned devices from both ends of the pricing spectrum. Thats how i damaged one of my old computer monitors. It still works, but it has a noticeable, irregular wavy pattern on it. I find distilled water to work well enough. I just douse a microfiber cloth in it and wipe the screen with not much pressure.
Daniel, what do we think of the possible BT removal of the S Pen? Personally, I think this is unacceptable for Samsung and we should hold them accountable for that. I use it for the Camera all the time, its super useful. Im considering not buying the new model just for that alone.
I'll be said if it goes. I didn't use it often, but knowing it was there gave me confidence that if I ever needed it, I had it. I have other remote shutter options for the camera (galaxy watch for example) but not everyone will have access to that
@techwithbenefits Yes i have the watch too, but its a principle thing. Thats what the S Pen is for and why its stored in the phone - to help u everytime u need it. Theres zero logic to remove the BT and still keep the Pen inside. Why? If they r going that road at least remove the pen and use it separately like the Fold. They literally r killing the best possible feature that no other phone has and why i love Samsung. Practically all my photos are made with the Pen. Its not the same with the watch. U can control absolutely everything with the Pen around the Camera - modes, menus, zoom, come on... And i dont want to look at my wrist everytime i need to have a photo... haha... super uncomfy. Its just sad.
As for me, S24U is a complete smartphone. The only big issue I cannot understand is an aggressive postprocessing of 50 and 200 Mpix photos. Whatever you do, it cannot be turned off, even if all software "helpers" and "optimizers" are disactivated. Just a few seconds after photo is made, the algorithm makes its shitty job and spoils the picture. I still hope it gonna be changed in one of future updates as this is the only software thing. On the other hand, if they hasn't change it over the year, I doubt they'll change it later.
Do you use screen protector? Because screen protectors increase the glare and make it an useless feature, all display protections making the display worse. I hope to receive an answer...😊
I traded in my S22ultra and got my S24ultra 256 for $499. The main reason was 7 years of ungrades and patches and better performance. While the 22Ultra have only 1 or 2 more upgrades.
What? 😂My great uncle handed down his prized Note 8 to me. I'm still rocking it, how many years now? My PRISTINE, daily driver and nothing since the Note 10 plus has impressed me as anything wow, so innovative and ground breaking 😅. ITS all the same and with additional gimmick terminologies slapped on to each new tiny minuscule "upgrade". I was a little tempted to upgrade this year, but then i saw those gawd awful rounded corners and i nearly lost my lunch 😂. No. I dont wanna buy a bar of soap phone. I need sharp boxy design to dig into my hands. 🎉
Amazing phone but cameras are really disappointing for flagship phone. Yes it is stacked with different modes, but it’s secondary to slow shutter speed and struggle with night photography. It is impossible to catch even the slightest movement even with good lighting conditions. You will always end up with blurry images. Night photography is really mediocre. I had iPhone 15 pm before s24u and cameras are so much more reliable. Everything else Samsung wins easily.
I love the look of the s24ultra, but it's so impractical and uncomfortable. I bought my dad an s24plus for Christmas, and the flat sides felt so much better in the hand that it instantly made me want to buy an s25ultra. As someone who doesn't use a case or screen protector, a phones comforbility and ergonomics are one of the top priorities, and if the roumours are true with the Qi2 wireless charging its a massive gamechanger for car mounts with no case
I had note 9 until I bought 24 ultra an year ago. 25 ultra got me intrigued. But non-bluetooth s-pen is no go for me. Hope this 24 pasts time! I know note 10 did for me (until they stopped updating it and its battery life was just like few hours). I use it still sometimes when I need two phones, and I'm in awe how good its display is. I have Samsungs own film over 24 ultras display, and it looks like shit. But I don't dare to use it without any protection. I should atleast replace the film with new one.
One area that samsung definitely messed up is the 100 x zoom, the 24 ultra is not even close to how good it was on the 23 ultra , which is clearer and without the weird glow that the 24 ultra processing puts on it , I was hoping it would be fixed in an update , but unfortunately not . I dont agree with the battery life , the 24 ultra is much better than my 23 ultra was , and it still is after nearly a year
2:38 - The Oleophobic coating on Samsung phones over the last 3 years has been piss poor, it wears off after a year. I keep my phone spotless & it's worn off. You cannot blame people for not looking after their phones. It is Samsung putting on a very thin coating on a Flagship device & it wearing off in 12 months.
@@techwithbenefits You mentioned the coating on the screen getting smudges on it. That's the oleophobic coating wearing off. Nothing to with keeping your screen clean. It's a Samsung fault.
@@techwithbenefits I believe it's not a coating and the anti reflective property is baked into the glass gorrila armor. The issue is with the oleophobic coating wearing off much faster than usual phones. I had a note 10 plus and it never had the coating wear off and I used it for almost 5 years and the coating was spotless. Traded it in for the S24 ultra and have been rocking the screen protector as a lot of people have issues with the oleophobic coating wearing off prematurely. Reddit is filled with people with similar experiences.
Samsung is not using that 200 megapixels camera. The Chinese counterparts are using it more properly than Samsung. They use it for the periscope zoom camera while Samsung use it for 1X 😅😅.
I like the estheticsbut no phone jack and no SDcard makes no sense and is a wicked decision from these corrupt companies. Note 9 is the last true Flagship with true value. It ain't worth buying new phones from Apple and Samsung altogether.
The S21 Ultra takes the cake for best Samsung design for me, but S24 Ultra definitely is a very close second. I love this phone so much it has been an amazing experience.
I think it's a great phone that I have NO need for! 1st the PRICE, 2nd all the bells and whistles that I'll never use or need, 3rd PAYING the price for 512Gb or higher storage when I can quickly swap out content on my 256Gb of storage. NOT a gamer, do NOT need to shoot professional videos, and have NO need for the S-Pen that I seldom ever used when I had one. I opted for the S24FE and is PLENTY for my needs as I mentioned all things I do NOT need so, WHY PAY for them - I won't. If you DO all the things I mentioned, then consider the S24Ultra, it's a great phone if you are actually going to utilize ALL it has to offer! It's OVERKILL for me and my needs. The S24FE with the Exynos 2400e performs between SD 3 Gen 3 and Gen 2 and is NO slouch and easily get 2days+ battery life.
If looking back, people of today still buy the older Samsung phones, because of better features, as to things they still want to use , And a lot are not bothered of updates or security because can put you're own security on the phone if needed, but in reality. all phones with apps by Google as to Apple, is a money making scam to get you to keep buying there products when discontinuing apps that won't work no longer. , and it would kill people today if we went back to just call and text with free simple games built in like catch the snake as to space attack, And can see in time the novelty wearing off on all phone companies, because you have no privacy no-more. as to people being idol paying with a crap phone, instead of cash, of which is a track and trace, when you use your phone to pay, like contactless,
they did that with S21U and went back to the square design. Throw in the stupid dynamic island animation crap that even one plus recently added and now all phones will look like the iphone SMH. Pixel 9 pro XL same stuff
Yep im a fan of the boxy design they really messed up making it now look like every other android phone out there. And all the recycled crap again...Im not even excited about the launch which is the first time ive felt that way and ive been buying s devices since the S3.
Just recently upgraded my S23+ to S24U last month after finding out about the upcoming rumored design language of S25U. I love the S24U's boxy design and how it looks - and to turn that, to look similar to an iPhone - yeah it's a no go for me :/
I have beautiful photos and the scenery finds me there outstanding. You honestly think there postcards✨ S24 ultra 🌹 All the best to everyone who has the latest Samsung mobile you are very lucky. 💥
Imagine an S24 Ultra with headphone jack, IR blaster, and SD card slot! That's all it's missing but I guess getting rid of features is the new innovations now. Rumor has it S25 will have even less! 😂 Don't get me wrong I like my S24 Ultra but these new phones are becoming a snooze fest. AI is the worst thing that ever happened to humanity so that's not very exciting.
Square is better for screen protectors, and don't know why people man of the S24 ULTRA being to square and like the rounded corners, where to you hold the phone, in the middle, not on each edge, And will not buy the S25 ULTRA at all, even those getting fed-up with Samsung as to its bugs in its updates on the camera side, And with rumoured no Bluetooth in the S25 ULTRA S-pen will put a lot off, as to no difference in features to the S24 ULTRA, only the chip as to ram if wanting higher memory, People don't keep throwing your money away each year for something that's hardly no different, stay clear of crap folding and flip phones, as Samsung is losing the plot and being more greedy, ever since the last of the note20 Ultra which still is a beast, And this AI is completely crap on Samsung as to Google, as Google messages is giving more spam and scams, since Samsung abolished it's messages , And not a big user anyway and I don't play games or watch movies on the phone, and all depends of what you leave open for the battery to brain quick, as people moan of wanting a better battery, I'll keep the S24 ULTRA for as long as It hold with 7 years of updates with android up to 2031, and lets see if Samsung is still here,
Samsung has to improve the camera's. Vivo X200 pro is better, also in zoom i think. I hope the S25 ultra gonna improved in video/photo camera. It is good but theire are better phones on this moment, i think that also the oppo 8x pro is a bit better now.
@markweaver4424 so it's mine. It overheats like crazy just by watching TH-cam and using Google wallet and it hasn't been fixed. It still happens after almost a year

This may be my outcome as well. I also have the s23u 1tb. Wanted the flat screen and better battery. Bought the 24u and battery was worse so I sent it back. I prefer the sharp corners, so due to the change I may try a pixel pro next go around.
I traded in my s22 U, and got my s24 U 518GB for 623$, so that was a good upgrade and cheap for an expensive phone
Nice! That's an amazing price for such a powerful device!
512 GB
I have a S23U and despiste I love the S24U flat display and mate frame more, I couldn't trade in my 10x zoom
Samsung 24 ultra the best design in the history of the world.
The last real samsung phone.😊
S25 ultra is the start of apple fanboy edition 😢
This is the last Note design Samsung...
Note series is truly dead now 😔
It's called evolution..
@Tha-King-Arthur
Evolution into being like Apple?
Sure
@ What does Apple has to do with what you wrote and what i wrote back to u? Everything changes by time you, your hair, your behaviour, your sexlife etc etc it's called evolution..
@Tha-King-Arthur
Because the current Samsung mobile CEO is taking inspirations from Apple.
Bring DJ-Koh back
I have the S23-U.
There was a deal a day or two ago to upgrade that was a fairly decent deal from Samsung.
from i phone changed to S24 ultra and still love it..for me design make me happy and qulity..
in future can you plese make video about the AI useage between 24 ultra and 25 ultra..
Thank you.
Totally agree, it's a fantastic device!
It's good to hear you're so happy with it and not feeling the pressure to upgrade. I'm glad it's working so well for you.
Im so.happy for all
The phone all over is great all the features, camera, good lock app features are all out this world not forgetting the s pen love it love from UK
I've loved my s24u. upgraded from an s23u and gave that to my partner. I don't think I'll be switching it out.
It's a phone you can keep for YEARS!
The S24U served me well. But I love to upgrade and look forward to the S25U
Great content. I've only had my s24 ultra for two weeks and love it. It's much better than my s23 ultra.
Glad you're enjoying it so far!
Thinking getting a s24ultra again and sell this fold before it breaks again lol
Do you use screen protector? Because screen protectors increase the glare and make it an useless feature, all display protections making the display worse. I hope to receive an answer...😊
I don't use a screen protector
6:04 min What program do you use for video editing in dex mode? I tried with cap cat but the application is not optimized for dex mod!?
Lumafusion! In the Galaxy Store
Note 20 Ultra 5G was the best Samsung, the S24 Ultra is a decent follow-up and has some good changes.
Still got the Note20 Ultra 5G and won't part with it, as it's the best of the best of its last note, even though I have the S24 ULTRA 5G
definitely worth it
RIP S24U can't wait to get my hands on the S25U 😊
I just got one for 750 euros, brand new, switched from iphone 14 pro because apple is really boring at this point, I absolutely love it!
Great deal!
It was the boxy shape of the S24 that made me change to another phone.
Last of its kind is fine with me if we witness the return of our beloved features - or dramatic price decrease 😅
I dont agree with the battery life , the 24 ultra is much better than my 23 ultra was , and it still is after nearly a year
Yeah the 100x was a little worse off because of the new 5x camera. See what unpacked brings us!
My comment isn't about the oleophobic coating
@@techwithbenefits You mentioned the coating on the screen getting smudges on it. That's the oleophobic coating wearing off. Nothing to with keeping your screen clean.
It's a Samsung fault.
@Mark001-1 i mentioned the anti reflective coating, not the oleophobic coating
I agree!!
They nerfed the s-pen, unless they bring the Bluetooth functions back for ultra 26, ultras are no longer worth it.
Samsung is not using that 200 megapixels camera. The Chinese counterparts are using it more properly than Samsung. They use it for the periscope zoom camera while Samsung use it for 1X 😅😅.
On s26 they will have the new battery tehnologi i maybe skip this year too :))
Have to wait and see!
@techwithbenefits bye the way oppo 7 pro and s25 U looks fat and short like pura 70 but o gsmarena they have the same dimension
they say that since 5 years😂 it will never happen. the s26 will be just 5% better than s25
@maschseebastian maybe whit the new siliciu battery
Samsung better not remove S-Pen function on s25 ultra if they do i want upgrade
I like the estheticsbut no phone jack and no SDcard makes no sense and is a wicked decision from these corrupt companies. Note 9 is the last true Flagship with true value. It ain't worth buying new phones from Apple and Samsung altogether.
I'm still so sad that Samsung going away from the squared screen. 🥺🥺
I need to put my Note 10 plus to rest. The S25 ultra is probably going to be my choice, but the S24 ultra is a good option if the price is right.
Handsome Ultra
I have s24 ultra, and im disgusted at the horrible coating coming off the device and leaving a permanent smudge on the devices screen.
I'm sticking with my 24 Ultra.
The S21 Ultra takes the cake for best Samsung design for me, but S24 Ultra definitely is a very close second. I love this phone so much it has been an amazing experience.
I had the s21 ultra but I dropped it to much.. I think I'm going bk to an ultra from fold thou
@garethbryant2183 I had the Fold 5 and traded in for the S24 Ultra. The Fold is cool but I prefer the cameras and screen quality of the Ultras.
Me quedo con el S24ULTRA
Don't look for videos, go and buy it. ( used it from launch ) previously im using iphone 12 promax
If you broke just say that.
If looking back, people of today still buy the older Samsung phones, because of better features, as to things they still want to use ,
And a lot are not bothered of updates or security because can put you're own security on the phone if needed,
but in reality. all phones with apps by Google as to Apple, is a money making scam to get you to keep buying there products when discontinuing apps that won't work no longer.
, and it would kill people today if we went back to just call and text with free simple games built in like catch the snake as to space attack,
And can see in time the novelty wearing off on all phone companies, because you have no privacy no-more. as to people being idol paying with a crap phone, instead of cash, of which is a track and trace, when you use your phone to pay, like contactless,
I think I'm gonna keep this phone for a long while
Only thing i dont like about the screen on the s24u is the blemishes it gets
I regret selling mine to review other phones.
Samsung selling it for $799 in US
they did that with S21U and went back to the square design. Throw in the stupid dynamic island animation crap that even one plus recently added and now all phones will look like the iphone SMH. Pixel 9 pro XL same stuff
My s24u display remains 100% intact
Love that!
Maybe December I can afford the s24 ultra
Yep im a fan of the boxy design they really messed up making it now look like every other android phone out there. And all the recycled crap again...Im not even excited about the launch which is the first time ive felt that way and ive been buying s devices since the S3.
Last of its kind? A bit dramatic since the S25U will be basically the same phone with rounded corners.
We'll see
Just recently upgraded my S23+ to S24U last month after finding out about the upcoming rumored design language of S25U.
I love the S24U's boxy design and how it looks - and to turn that, to look similar to an iPhone - yeah it's a no go for me :/
No reason to upgrade from a S23U, both are almost exactly the same
After 1 year my battery life has become awful IDK if its only me.
Mine has been dismal since day one.
Coming up on 1 year, and I haven’t had any battery issues.
The battery last much longer on the 24
Do camera covers mess with taking a good picture?
Not particularly!!
I have beautiful photos and the scenery finds me there outstanding. You honestly think there postcards✨ S24 ultra 🌹 All the best to everyone who has the latest Samsung mobile you are very lucky. 💥
I need a Samsung device 😢🥀
Imagine an S24 Ultra with headphone jack, IR blaster, and SD card slot! That's all it's missing but I guess getting rid of features is the new innovations now. Rumor has it S25 will have even less! 😂 Don't get me wrong I like my S24 Ultra but these new phones are becoming a snooze fest. AI is the worst thing that ever happened to humanity so that's not very exciting.
Looking forward to keeping it for the full 10 years of software. The phone is solid and streamlines with windows beautifully.
One of the best parts of Samsung is working with other brands and ecosystems!
You mean 7 years?
It's 7 years!!!
Square is better for screen protectors, and don't know why people man of the S24 ULTRA being to square and like the rounded corners,
where to you hold the phone, in the middle, not on each edge,
And will not buy the S25 ULTRA at all, even those getting fed-up with Samsung as to its bugs in its updates on the camera side,
And with rumoured no Bluetooth in the S25 ULTRA S-pen will put a lot off, as to no difference in features to the S24 ULTRA, only the chip as to ram if wanting higher memory,
People don't keep throwing your money away each year for something that's hardly no different,
stay clear of crap folding and flip phones, as Samsung is losing the plot and being more greedy, ever since the last of the note20 Ultra which still is a beast,
And this AI is completely crap on Samsung as to Google, as Google messages is giving more spam and scams, since Samsung abolished it's messages ,
And not a big user anyway and I don't play games or watch movies on the phone,
and all depends of what you leave open for the battery to brain quick, as people moan of wanting a better battery,
I'll keep the S24 ULTRA for as long as It hold with 7 years of updates with android up to 2031,
and lets see if Samsung is still here,
Samsung has to improve the camera's.
Vivo X200 pro is better, also in zoom i think.
I hope the S25 ultra gonna improved in video/photo camera. It is good but theire are better phones on this moment, i think that also the oppo 8x pro is a bit better now.
All will be revealed in a few days!
we need applock stop saying your opinion
Who's "we"
@techwithbenefits any intelligent samsung user 😉
You should mention the terrible battery life, especially on idle and the overheating
I haven’t had this happen to my phone which is almost a year old.
@markweaver4424 so it's mine. It overheats like crazy just by watching TH-cam and using Google wallet and it hasn't been fixed. It still happens after almost a year
I seriously feel that the Samsung S24 Ultra is the best you get all-rounder. SPen. 👌 Really the 2025 Samsung I don't feel real excited. As I can upgrade anytime but I don't think so not this time. Sorry, Samsung. There is no reason to upgrade. 👋💥✨💥✨💥✨
