Installing an Oil Temperature Gauge in 2008 GMC Yukon XL Denali

Due to a previous heat related CKP failure (ONLY while towing), I am installing an Engine Oil Temperature gauge in my Denali. This will give me a good baseline come summer time to decide if the truck could use a thermostatically controlled oil cooler. This process should be identical (if not very similar) for '07-13 Tahoe, Suburban, Avalanche, Escalade, Silverado and Sierra.
