STCW95 Sea Survival Techniques

The STCW95/ RYA Sea Survival course is designed to provide the participant with a basic understanding of what to do in an emergency at sea.
It is not only educational, but great fun and will raise your awareness of the value of being prepared in the event the unthinkable happens. Being properly trained in the use of survival equipment could help save your life.
This course is also a pre-requisite for those who are looking to gain their commercial endorsement to operate as a professional skipper. The RYA Sea Survival course includes a practical session in a swimming pool and students are encouraged to experience first hand the problems of entering an inflated and uncooperative life raft while fully kitted out in waterproofs and an inflated life jacket.

Whats best kind of life jacket to purchase to practice entering water from the side? The orange foam ones are 150N will these bring you straight back up? The inflatable ones go up 200+Ns, I had a fear of stepping in recently on PST course so intend buy my own life jacket and practice stepping in at my local pool in shallower water
