Im not sure why everyone assumes that Chanel isn't paying them well? They provided them with a job and they also built schools and hired teachers so that the employees would have a good place to take their children. I know for a fact that Chanel takes very good care of their employees, I don't see why these women would be any different.
cluccous I agree CHANEL isn’t comparable to the various greedy and corrupt global corporate entities, that we commonly see as the cause to much harm and suffering in the world. I’m not saying they are morally exempt for playing into the global capitalist system, BUT they are a privately owned company and their vision for the brand is not with the intention to only produce high profit shares for its CEO and executives, the brand is focused on preserving the legacy of Gabrielle Chanel and the country of France, through investing and developing in craftsmanship and technological innovation. Not many companies if any at all have such a profoundly positive impact on human society like this brand... so many companies use charity and other deceptive PR campaigns to promote a positive brand association, like amazon and Facebook and all these huge tech companies and food companies and governments and institutions, all while hierarchy and human slavery and white privilege still exist on every single part of planet earth.
