I just linked this from your short video asking for recommendations on hotels to visit for future videos. Discussing laundries is an important feature for me.
I would love to stay at the Westin. But it isn't that close. I really do prefer Best Western right across the street. Or, of course, my favorite. Candy Cane that is not mentioned. I have used Getaway today. But it was a long time ago. I really do like their discounts.
I’d love to stay at the Westin. The most basic room is under $300 and comparable in price to many of the hotels on Harbor. But I’d want a park view room and then it’s no longer affordable. 🤣
No complaints when we booked our rooms at the Sheraton Hotel in December. Similar perks to the Hilton where riding the free bus from Toy Story Parking lot.
Love this video! For future hotel videos, could you briefly cover the parking situation and costs. I know it may not be a big deal, but about 5 years ago I had stayed at a hotel on south harbor and the parking was awfully tight and my car ended up getting damaged my first day there. The hotel actually called me while I was in line for Haunted Mansion to let me know the police was there to do a report. Ever since then, I’ve been choosing hotels based on parking. 😅 I actually stay at Ayres Orange now, but as I get older (and more arthritic ☺️) I would really like to move back to staying closer to the parks for those midday naps. Oh and would love any thoughts or ideas of other things to do in the area that’s not theme park stuff. Thank you for all the videos! I am finally returning to Disneyland in May after letting go of my annual pass over a year ago. Your videos are helping me plan.
We stayed at the Westin - it’s a very nice hotel but we were not happy with the road noise. If I stayed there again I would ask for a room that does not face the street. The walk to the Park was ok but not ideal.
@@jackieosam4976 Chris came up to me as soon as he saw me at the tour, wrapped his arm around my shoulder and said “So good to see you here. You deserve to be here. You’ve worked hard.” It meant so much to me. He’s an awesome guy.
We stayed at Best Western Stovall last year and it was good, not fancy but your only there to sleep anyways plus the breakfast is really good and opens at 6 so you can eat breakfast before walking the 15 min to downtown Disney. Were planning to go back down next November and might stay at the Howard Johnson but I would have no issues staying at Stovalls again 👍
The food was really good. I was impressed. They had French toasts sticks as their daily special the day I arrived and they were really tasty. Was one of the better hotel breakfasts I’ve had.
I live in the area, but every-time I go to Disneyland I always wonder what the hotels are like. The one with 2 player Daytona USA, pinball, golden tee - that's a pretty solid acrade in 2024.
Hampton was actually pretty far. It’s about a 20 minute walk. No further than the Best Westerns we showed. But you could probably walk to the Toy Story Lot in through the exit. I’m not sure how that works.
I was just at Disneyland last week at the 'Anaheim Desert Inn & Suites.' Both you & Provost Park Pass both pushed 'Best Western.' At $150 per night, literally across the street from Disney, I wonder why you're not pushing 'Anaheim Desert Inn & Suites.'
Chris and I were on the same tour. We only visited these 6 hotels in this tour. It was an arranged Get Away Today event. I’ve also never stayed there. And I don’t think you can book it through Get Away Today.
@@warfjm We are slowly trying all different hotels. We don’t mind trying ones not with Get Away. One of our favorites isn’t with them, Candy Cane Inn. But for this specific video, yeah, it was arranged. I didn’t choose the hotels, either. I’ve also never been to any on this video before, so it was nice getting to tour them all without having to fork over $$$ to actually stay there.
Let’s be honest though, I don’t think these are hidden gem motels/hotels anymore since you have, and many other bloggers/channels here on YT done a review on them in the past.
This is my first time seeing any of them. And the only one I actually had heard of before was the Westin. And almost all of them had free breakfast, except the Westin, and I found that to be quite the gem considering almost none the hotels I’ve stayed at near Disneyland (with the exception of Candy Cane and the BW Park Place Inn) have that perk. So you stay a little further away, get bigger rooms and free breakfast, and, in most cases, at cheaper costs too.
Everyone puts this huge premium on being super close to the park. There are several hotels just down Harbor Blvd that are nicer and either comparably priced or less expensive than hotels closer. With free parking and breakfast. You have to Uber but its only $8-$10. If you're staying on Katella it's just as quick to grab a ride share as it is to walk. Plus you get a ride through the home stretch instead of dragging you and the kids another 1/2 mile in a day when you've probably already walked 10-15 miles. Hope I'm not stepping on your toes SoCal Disney Dad. No one listen to me. Stay at the hotels suggested in the video.
Aww man I could've used this video. I ended up staying in a timeshare by mistake! Luckily I smelled a rat and skipped their free gifts to avoid them pressuring me to buy. 😅
I know the BW Pavillions quite well. I went there as a hotel systems implementation lead with my assistant Randy, to upgrade their systems and to do some hospitality instruction since Best Western, with Headquarters in Phoenix, invited us with some many years of Innkeeping experience to help their clients (since Best Western hotels are individually owned and operated, unlike other hotel brands like Doubletree/Hilton). The funny thing, though as a 'yiddle' kid in Burbank and the Napa Valley, we went to Disneyland every other year, and even my Napa gospel school choir went there in the early 70's, and as an adult with a wife and daughter living in Phoenix, we went almost every year by air or car (Car if I wanted my daughter to visit Sea World, the San Diego Zoo, Legoland), surprising her with the Disney Parks at the end (my wife and I were cool keeping secrets, because we always wanted to leave Disney as a surprise). But on my business trip to this hotel, in '00 for a systems upgrade, I never went to the theme park, we simply had no time, and we were always flying somewhere, usually to Canada or the other side of the states (in my case Ft. Lauderdale). I left Randy behind at this hotel because I had to fly home to Phoenix, hug my wife and our baby daughter and crash in my upstairs home office for the night, so as not to disturb my wife, as I was heading for Florida the next day. At the time I worked for this client, I loved the owners, and their management and staff that even though they were not Disney owned, they went out of their way to give families there a Disney experience. At that time the LAX and Santa Ana shuttles dropped off and picked up guests there. They were and still are blessed with the shortest walk to the parks, though an inn to their North is a close second with an indoor pool where my wife and I stayed on a long Socal and Vegas honeymoon. Your videos I cherish, given tourism was my career until I caught an early retirement opportunity in '15. It's been ten years since my last family Disney visit--at Walt Disneyworld where we stayed in the Swan. I am waiting for grandchildren to go again, but that may be a long wait since our daughter, now a 23 yo Master's Student in International studies, plans to serve as a diplomat given the love of travel we gave her, like me, inspired by It's a Small World which I first saw at age five in '66.

Very helpful tour of hotels near DCA. It's good to know there are buses as those locations are a longer walk. Some great options are highlighted!
There is an air bnb called hotel 414 please review it , soooo close to the park I love staying there
Great video Travor thanks for the heads up on the hotels on katella ave.
Love the review...Congrats on the milestone!
Love your channel as planning a trip later this year. Would be great if you could upload your videos in 4K though like fresh baked.
This is so helpful. Thank you!

Tokyo Disney seems to be doing it right with rides and the park overall- like the new themes added there

What about the "no resort fees" in Best Western hotels but with mandatory charge of room safe, even if you don't use it?!
Westin for our next trip, prices are
Comparable to older properties, 5 star
Hi
Would love a video with other things to do in LA that isn’t a theme park.
I live in the area, but every-time I go to Disneyland I always wonder what the hotels are like.
The one with 2 player Daytona USA, pinball, golden tee - that's a pretty solid acrade in 2024.
And it was like 50 cents a game too. Some were even 25 cents I think.
To high priced. I need hotels UNDER $100 a night. So to that end Motel 6 is the cheapest deal.
Did the Hampton inn seem like a close enough walk to Disneyland or easier to just use Toy Story shuttle?
Hampton was actually pretty far. It’s about a 20 minute walk. No further than the Best Westerns we showed. But you could probably walk to the Toy Story Lot in through the exit. I’m not sure how that works.
You can walk to Toy Story lot from the Hampton. It's very close. You just walk out, turn left and go down through the parking lot.
The candy cane inn doesnt pop up on the get away discount bundle package site. ?

Candy cane is still the best
I agree. We love Candy Cane.
My family is already booked for Tropicana for our Disney trip in May. Is there anything to know about before going?
I haven’t stayed there, but it’s super close to the park which is a really nice plus!
@@SoCalDisneyDadit’s also close to IHOP, which my mom loves, but we don’t have it in our hometown, so that’s another bonus
We’ve stayed a couple times and it a basic hotel. It’s clean and they have washers and dryer’s onsite. I love it because it’s close to the park!!!!
