OMG!!! That is so much easier than the original. Finishing the corners is brilliant! You truly are a genius. Now I have to make this bag again!! Thank you so much for all your hard work!
Thanks Celine for the great instructions. I was particularly curious on when and how to install those gussets. I think I know what to do now. Lovely design.
Loved your video series on this - just finishing my first & wanted to mention that I unfortunately didn’t use a purse zipper on this one, but the accordion pieces weren’t a huge issue for me when I applied the zipper. After I pressed them prior to top stitching, I simply pulled them tightly away from the zipper and then pinned them in place with a couple of pins. I still checked them carefully as I went, but the pins did the trick & really helped a lot. ❤️
Hello there! I'm making this lovely bag for the first time as a customer order, but....she is having it all black faux, main panels and accent base. It's quite an easily creased faux leather so I'm loath to birth it through the pocket. I can't see that I could birth this any other way though because of the lining corner boxing being stitched to the outer?
Celine, your bag turned out very pretty. I was wondering about the Peltex you used in the bottom of your bag, if you were able to get it all smoothed out without wrinkles showing on the outside of your bag after turning? I am planning on using leather if possibles and was wondering what you would use in the bottom as far as a stabilizer for the base? I'm just worried about wrinkles you can't get to come out. Thanks for the video Celine, very helpful. Tammy
Tammy Altic Hi Tammy! I don’t use fusible peltex and I haven’t had any issues with wrinkles after turning the bag. I don’t work with leather so I can’t advise on what to use in that case but perhaps there are leather support groups that could advise you?
Claret Belle I am using double sided tape. I get it at a local art supply store but you can get similar tape from Wawak or cleaner supply. Just make sure you don’t put it where you’ll be sewing.

You could follow the method in the written pattern where the boxed corners are closed up with binding instead of turning through the pocket.
i really love your bag... it's so pretty.... thank you so much for your tutorial. and i just sub you...

How about a dome purse pattern so we can have option to hook shoulder strap to sides?
Celine, May I ask what model Juki you use? I think that’s the machine I want, and I definitely want to be able to sew thicker materials. Thanks.
What tape are you using in this application?
