- Reading is a town and borough in Berkshire, England. Most of its built-up area lies within the Borough of Reading, although some outer suburbs are parts of neighbouring unitary authority areas. It is located in the Thames Valley at the confluence of the rivers Thames and Kennet.
Reading is a major commercial centre, especially for information technology and insurance. It is also a regional retail centre, serving a large area of the Thames Valley with its shopping centres, including the Oracle, the Broad Street Mall, and the pedestrianised area around Broad Street. It is home to the University of Reading. Every year it hosts the Reading Festival, one of England's biggest music festivals. Reading has a professional association football team, Reading F.C., and participates in many other sports.

I lived in Reading from 2011 to 2015. Miss Reading a lot. With love from India
Will you ever come back and visit again?
@@scenicrouteyt yes why not. Iam planning
@daljeetsingh6198 good 👍🏼
I miss reading like anything.have been there for 3-4 years and had to mpve to Sydney, Austrlia!.still best days of my life is in Reading
Wait, you live in Sydney & you miss Reading?.. 🙃
@@scenicrouteyt yes I have been living in Sydney more than 7+ years and become an Austrlian citizen.but still missing UK and Reading like anything
Fair enough, I guess you always miss home
@@scenicrouteyt I am an Indian Origin. Born and brought up in India. But for me as much as I like India , it's same for Reading incase of me.Reading is vibrant , live and colorful
Yeah it is a great town. Lots to see and do
I lived in Reading as a child, and come on the train most weeks. There is always something going on and somewhere to wander, Forbury garden's and the Abbey ruins on a nice day is relaxing away from the hustle and bustle of shopping .riverside is lovely too.❤
I grew up there too.
Spent many days just wondering round the town centre.
😊
I lived in Reading from '88 to 2008. Had pretty equal good times and bad but it really felt like MY town. Maybe because I was a teenager and in my 20's when I was there but I really felt at home in Reading. Its shit compared to other towns ive lived in (Henley on Thames, Nottingham, Marbella in Spain and currently Hong Kong) but it did feel like home. The only place I lived in that was worse than Reading was Bracknell!
I went back to Reading in 2022 for my mums funeral and was sad to see so many closed shops and the whole place was run down. It doesnt help that England is so wet and cold though. At least I was happy to see so many East Asians there now. As a Hong Kong resident I like to see that.
If I lived anywhere in the UK again I wouldnt mind going back to Reading.
I’m born and bred in Reading so I feel kind of the same way. It feels like home whenever I go back to visit.
But yeah I can imagine places like Hong Kong are definitely nicer 😂
Btw, they have done Bracknell up not so long ago so it’s much nicer than it used to be!

@@scenicrouteyt blimey Bracknell looks amazing. How can it support so many new shops? My grandparents lived in Brownlow Drive since the 1940's and I lived in Crown Wood (a bit rough) even before they finished building it (1980). Even after my parents moved to Reading I went to Bracknell college (1991) so I have a lot of memories of Bracknell. Most not so good. Garth hill School wasnt so great, there was an Indian prick in the College called Satnam who I think ended up killing someone and the point pose were a pain too, especially if you went down there in a Reading shirt. But I do remember the fun of pouring washing powder into the square fountain at the bottom of the hill in the centre and eating white hot chips from a paper cone from the chippy nearby. Its weird that I remember Bracknell as a sh*t town but at the same time I miss it now lol.
thanks for the link, it triggered alot of memories.
@alexc6324 I know quite a few people visit there to go shopping now instead of Reading as it’s less busy and a bit nicer.
Haha, always nice to bring back old memories!
Pleased you enjoyed the videos
Bein to reading about 2 years ago it’s ok I went on boat trip by the river and walked along the river to❤
Oh nice, yeah there’s some lovely spots along the river
Nice town. Keep on walking! 🧡
Yeah it’s a nice place to visit. Good for shopping also.
miss Reading 😢
Did you used to live there?
I really miss Reading 😢😢
You moved away?
Great video, been a while since I’ve visited.
Looks like a few things have changed and more shops closed down 😕
Yeah it’s my original home town. Definitely more shops closed down recently.
The Oracle has lots less than it originally did!
How far is it to Reading from London by train?
With the new Elizabeth Line it’s just under an hour.
Get GWR. Instead, it's only 22 minutes. 20 if it doesn't stop in Slough.
Wat happened at 23:35 lol
Someone tried starting a fight with someone else who really didn’t want to.
Had a quick glance behind me and he was swinging a bike trying to hit him!
@@scenicrouteyt Oh damn 😂😂
Pretty standard Reading activity 😂
@@scenicrouteyt Lol definitely keep up the videos
@prod.kenuthia I will do! Thanks for watching 😊
0:19 You didn’t believe in Jesus?
He sounded like a GTA npc to me 😂
I agree with you... He didn't want to hear about Jesus.
The only problem was: the guy was a Mormon and I am a catholic.
You must have permission to film 😊
From who?

If you like Reading then you must be living in a dump .
Reading is nothing of what it was some years ago , slowly is becoming worse and worse, needs a complete make over , the town look the same for so many years the council does nothing but collect so much money from its people via the council Tax. Parking in Reading town is so expensive compared to other towns .
The Oracle biggest locals aren’t in used , before they were occupied by House of Fraser and Next.
Basically the town looks the same or even worse because there is not improvement, renovations , so is not attractive with so many places being shut down….it’s becoming tacky
Yeah I was surprised with The Oracle last time I visited a lot of empty space, hardly any shops now compared to what it was like even a few years ago
Reading is a nice place i move to london i dont like london
I did the same many years ago and thought the same!
Where in London?
@@scenicrouteyt South East London
Utter dump
🙃
a very boring city
Yeah it’s mainly just shops and restaurants.
The riverside can be quite nice sometimes
That because its a town , where do you live?
I was born & bred in Reading, now I’m in the middle of the Peak District
@scenicrouteyt is the peak district, a city, then? , by the sounds of it you have never lived in either
