Please be careful about that hi-res certification, as it is not one. Companies can just buy the rights to put that sticker on whatever product that they want. Dont buy into a product just because it uses that sticker, a lot of people have been burned that way. Imo Moondrop Golden Ages is a good product, just wanted everybody to know about that sticker.
I just got mine yesterday and I love them ! I was using the xm4 earbuds from Sony but the golden ages are far more comfortable and the sound feels far more natural and detailed, it’s really impressive. Especially for the price point. And that box art …
Wow, so the technicality, sound stage, and any other sound perspective from golden ages is better than Sony xm4? I am really curious about the comparison between golden ages and Sony's tws. I would really appreciate it if you can share your thoughts for the comparisons.
3 hours is accurate, I have test personally Noise cancelling and LDAC on whilst I was working. If on AAC without Noise cancelling it can reach 5-6 hours for sure (which is the same for the Space Travel, which I also have). The sound personally on ''reference'' mode is absolutely perfect for me as I like a more balanced sound. For about 79.99 bucks in terms of the audio department it's a steal.
@@readyforencore My opinion the GA pulls the lead it's cleaner (especially with LDAC included) than the ST (ST has a little more bass even on reference). Build quality is a big leap, the ST is extremely cheap feeling but for the price it's a no brainier on a budget (I do still recommend ST for what they're worth if you cannot afford the GA).
@ELJefeReviews I want to see the driver, it looks fishy because the driver doesn't fully look like a planar. Moondrop even used a BA driver on their iem due to planar driver couldn't produce the full spectrum of sound, while this doesn't have a secondary driver. Also the structure is different from any planar drivers out there.
@@tdmduc cp 360 worked well with my moondrop space travel. This has the same design for the buds, I mean just copy paste for the external shell body lol.
listening to this Video on the golden ages i can confirm they Sound great. over all think my nura true pro are still a step up in imaging, slam and timbre, but the detailretrival on these is impressive. Female vocals are just ❤
Yeah. Planars are typically tuned more for detail towards mids and highs. So theyre not really gonna be for bass heads or people than just like a slight more rumble to the mix. So that is something that may keep this off the table for some. I still think its something people should give a shot just to switch it up maybe
I don’t think it’s fair to extrapolate this as a rule for planars, the 7Hz Timeless is the exact opposite of what you’re saying. Incredible bass response and clarity, with mids a little more subdued with a V-ish shape
I love Moondrop IEMs - they have a knack for tuning them very well for their respective price points. I am not a fan of the planar magnetic sound though. I find the sound “brittle” and too forward in the higher frequencies. The design of these is really cool though and I hope they make a future version with dynamic drivers or a hybrid dynamic/balanced armature setup. Awesome video as always!
Moondrops been making some of the best bang for the buck stuff for awhile now. The Space Travels were remarkable for the money. Making a few of the pairs even they produced at twice the price irrelevant.
Thx for the solid review as usual. Will definitely give them a GO as I currently use the Space Travel as a budget set + previously used the Nekocake and loved the fit. That design is super comfy so no surprise they kept it on the Golden Ages. Thx!!
I wore my Space Travels for 6 months+ and the left earbud's bass went flat and could not be fixed. I hope that this one has better build quality since it is more expensive.
Same exact battery as the space travel I'm assuming. The mic the same, or at least sounds the same. For 25 bucks I was happy with it. That's my one complaint about these is they could be packaged better... But the look dope and I'm sure they sound good, moondrop hasn't missed yet for me... Think they are releasing a phone here soon and I'm more stoked in that.
Got mine last Monday, they're the best. I paid £49 and believe me, these are brilliant. Very loud and the anc is far better than the space travel. Just buy these honestly they rock.
I use a Walkman nw-a55 as my everyday music player and carry at it at work instead of my phone so this is pretty cool, I normal use shitty earbuds at work and switch to moondrop arias at home so this is really attractive
I've tried planar earbuds and headphones and they just don't have the bass that I'm used to. My old JBL Reflect Minis are still spoiling me when it comes to bass impact and great volume. Nice review thank you. 💯👍🇺🇸
You mentioned the white noice with transparency mode but do they have white noise at all times otherwise? The moondrop nekocake did, presumably to a low quality dac/amp inside them, not suitable for high sensitivity, and because of that it has a high noise floor. In a quiet room, very noticable and annoying for someone used to wired that has zero idle noise.
I have both the MoonDrop Girls Frontline (packaged & designed similarly to these) & the MoonDrop Space Travel (Black) & they have several other sets that are different styles (NekoCat are in both plain white & black & the buds on the Space Travel are fairly basic). I had several issues with 2 pairs of the cheaper Space Travels, but am in love with the Frontline pair & case! Added these to my cart when I get paid! 💜🫶
Idk delete the app and redownload. Maybe you need to give it permissions in settings. I have space travel and the app and it's never been an issue as long as it's connected to the BT it should sync easily.
@@OfficialGamesky To be honest, looking at Space Travel in the same form factor, I was expecting even worse with power hungry planar. I'm curious to see someone opening them and verifying the exact type of the driver they used.
Buds 3 have tws related features advantages like bass focused, longer battery life, adjustable ANC, slim case compared to this etc. While this focused primarily on audio over other things. ANC isn't adjustable and maybe won't perform like OnePlus due to only using feed forward mic for ANC thus audio won't likely have much effects but ANC likely misses some sounds. I wish only battery life was better.
@AndRootPro I didn't say it was a rule however, from my experience the bass is always trash. I tried everything from hifiman to audeze to dan clark audio, sendy audio, sivga, monolith. The most recent one I tried were the audeze maxwell (trash bass) IMO dynamic headphones over planars every day.
I love how the package looks , and case also kinda interesting

Of course, they don't position themselves as Hi-Fi. A Bluetooth connection fundamentally cannot deliver such a class

Poor battery life, no wireless charging, can’t adjust volume on earbuds…. that’s a no for me. I’ll wait for version 3 before I consider these
It's not for all users, their target is specific users like audiophiles who can ignore everything else just for audio
If you just want a bunch of features with good battery life and decent sound get Soundpeats or something. This is not the same target market.
