Lyrics
What did you learn today?
I learnt nothing
What did you do today?
I did nothing
What did you learn at school?
I didn't go
Why didn't you go to school?
I don't know
It's cool to know nothing
It's cool to know nothing
Televisions on the blink
There's nothing on it
I really want a really big coat
With words on it
What do you want for tea?
I want crisps
Why don't you join the team?
I just did
It's cool to know nothing
It's cool to know nothing
Take a look, take a look
Take a look at the kids on the street
No, they never miss a beat
No, they never miss a beat
Never miss a beat
Never miss a beat, beat, beat, beat
Take a look at the kids on the street
No, they never miss a beat
No, they never miss a beat
Never miss a beat
Never miss a
Never miss a beat
Never miss a beat
Here comes the referee
With lights flashing
Best bit of the day
Now that's living
Why don't you run away?
Are you kidding?
What is the golden rule?
You say nothing
It's cool to know nothing
It's cool to know nothing
Take a look, take a look
Take a look at the kids on the street
No, they never miss a beat
No, they never miss a beat
Never miss a beat
Never miss a beat, beat, beat, beat
Take a look at the kids on the street
No, they never miss a beat
No, they never miss a beat
Never miss a beat
Never miss a
Never miss a beat
Never miss a beat
Take a look, take a look
Take a look at the kids on the street
No they never miss a beat
No they never miss a beat
Never miss a beat
Never miss a beat, beat, beat, beat
Take a look at the kids on the street
No they never miss a beat
No they never miss a beat
Never miss a beat
Never miss a
Never miss a beat
Never miss a beat
#KaiserChiefs
“What do you want for tea?” “I want crisps“ is one of the most British things I’ve ever heard 😂
I literally can't think of a more British band lol.
@@danjackson1016 The Jam
Crisps in a roll
Yeah and it's a quote from me, MC Haley as a child in Stoke-on-Trent and the song is written by my arch nemesis Esme Dee Hand Halford or Orielles non-fame
F it yeah great line
Anyone in 2024 ❤❤❤
Sure, I never miss a beat!
March 2024 ❤
Oh aye all the lads hi 🤘✌️🇮🇪
Me ❤❤❤
Alright lads
This should be just as popular as Ruby or I predict a riot. Probably my favourite song from this awesome band
Well ITS nad a remix in the charta recently haha so thats recognition deserved lol
Frankly, this is better than Ruby. It should have been huge.
It is an awesome song!
Am I the only one that just loves how British this is xD
+purplemelon4115 No your'e not. It is understandable almost everything that is British is amazing, except food and weather. Thankfully I am a Brit.
me 2
I'm an American but all my friends say they could see me being a Brit haha
Me 3
Yes
This song reminds me of my middle school alt rock phase. 😌 What I love about this song is that it’s sung by grown men but it really captures the adolescent spirit: Kids seem like they’re fooling around and doing “nothing” but that “nothing” is actually rich and full of “something”-they “never miss a beat”, they excel at being kids and are far more perceptive than people give them credit for.
Diary of a Wimpy Kid led me to this and I thought the song was catchy. Then I find out the song is about people not having real book smarts but making the most of their street smarts. This means a lot to me bc I struggled with so many of the high-level math classes in college and when I realized how shitty professors were at explaining things, I realized I could do much better so I figured I could take advantage of my street smarts and start my own business tutoring or making textbooks for the math classes I knew well. This could be my song!
SAME OMG
"We dont have to outrun them, we just have to outrun chirag"
Haha diary of a wimpy kid😂
Wonderful thing is that how the ears are still starving for this tune after all these years.
Whoever invented the hook in this song needs more recognition
Pigy that made the song
This reflects parts of British culture. Great storyteller. Hope I can write a song like this in future
the most underrated band in the passed 25 year's
what about stereophonics?
Yh

The most idiotic comment in the passed 25 years
Clearly never went to good taste in music school
Had this song going around my head today for some reason, so I came here! Saw the Kaiser Chiefs live in Manchester a decade ago, fantastic band, even better live.
*Playing this song on Expert on Guitar Hero 5*
*3 minutes in*
* "NEVER MISS A BEAT" *
*Misses a note*
*Smashes guitar in rage of another failed 100% FC*
Haha! So true!
If I missed one note on Expert mode I restart, thankfully I finally got all the notes
Thanks Guitar Hero for this killer track from the Chiefs. Never would've heard of them without it
I want crisps, that line always gets me😂
Nowadays bands don't care about quality, they just look for the success and they hanker that throne which is feigned and quite hateful. I love Kaiser Chiefs because they always break the mould, these guys easily write music focusing on alternative vibes, some electronic vibes and respect in all the possible shapes. Charm is important and I really believe that a band spellbinds the listener as soon as it turns out to be innovative, kind, well-mannered and smart. It is absolutely this mix of features to determine the breakthrough! Clearly being an alternative band makes you be admired by a restricted range of people, those who clap in front of a flawless exhibition and a concrete blast of rock! Take Kaiser Chiefs as a worship!
I couldn't agree more! Well spoken.
Nowadays? This song is from about 7 years ago. Comments like this are always written by out of touch morons who think they're special because they appreciate songs by 2nd rate alt rock groups. Change the record, there's always good and bad music.
+T Scott Oi actually I can see that, this song would be a strange exception to my "only music before the 90s" (my mixtapes/vinyls). I was watching Jules Holland and this song popped up, I rather like it! But You're right we cannot generalize all modern music, that isnt cultured to say so. It sounds ignorant. St.Vincent I like, and she's more modern. So yeah, I kinda agree with both you folks. I pretty much only listen to classical, 20's, 60's, 70's 80's.
when bands change their style now tho, they're called sellouts...
"Nowadays"?
Oh dear...
Kaiser chiefs never miss a beat classic song from the nineties good music from them good stuff
The song is from like 2008
"What do you want for tea?" "I want crisps" Hahahaha!

Heard this randomly at lunch and immediately remembered the hook. 15+ years later?? Sign of a well-crafted pop song.
It’s not pop

"I didn't go"
"Why didn't you go to school?"
"I don't know"
XD
@dani cali so glad you popped in to be rude, Dani. Who is this we anyways?
This is my favourite kaiser chief song, if not my favourite song. To me, the song is about street kids, with stories that make them tough and resilient. This really speaks to me, because I have been through tough times, and have come so close to running away from home, and to me, this song is about the kids who did run, and are surviving on the streets, as I said before, tough and resilient. I just love this song so much, and it doesn't hurt that the tune is awesome and the singer is good as fuck!
Guitar Hero introduced me to this glorious band back in the day. I have since seen them 4 times live... to be young again and experience music like this. 😢
God this song gives me so much nostalgia, I'm only 16 but when I was 12 I saw my aunt all the time, and me and my family would go up 2 the library every week, wed come home play some dumb games, and I swear Kaiser chiefs were the soundtrack 2 my life back then. Things were so much better back then. *oof* 😂
It's a national fucking scandal that this track never made no 1
snowbelle74 damn right
Yeah
They probably didn’t make number one because it’s fucking lame
@@grizzlydown is blows my mind that you have so little to do on a day to day basis that you actively search a song you dont like scroll through comments of the song while listening to it even though you dont like it pick one of thousands just to then type its a lame song 🤣🤣🤣 loser

I WOULD NEVER MISS A BEAT OF THIS SONG!!!
"Its cool to know nothing" - Perfectly sums up the issues with the current younger generation, and this was written 13 years ago.
I was confused beacuse I seem to know all the words to most of their older songs... But then I remember my dad used to play them to me when I was younger...

What a good song
I'm Polack and listening to this band and living in the UK for 5 yrs made more British
who made this choreography was f **k the crazy.
gabriel cardoso true, but i've gotta say whatever he was on, i want some.
Ya hear that everyone? He said 'Crisps' not 'Chips', 'Chips' are what you call 'French Fries' but a lot thicker.
English Chips are closer to American Steak Fries or potato wedges.
+'THE' Multi Tasker Fucking redcoats, I swear...
+'THE' Multi Tasker The British word for something is not automatically more correct.
As an American, crisps sound a lot tastier.
Too bad I fookin hate tea.
+Mason Munts Considering English originates from England, a country within the UK/Britain, I think we have veto over what is determined as correct or incorrect usage of our own language tbh. How is an English word for the English language not automatically more correct?
i love this song so much
