Reminds me of the great rebel music that came out of the East German Block in the late 70’s early 80’s when it was under CCCP occupation and control during the Cold War.
What i love about this track, is that moving and distorted heavy bass riff and mainly, vocals from Tom. How raw that guy sounds here. He is breathing through verses, so this song has a lot more intensity and emotions. Phenomenal production. Self Titled is really amazing album, with interesting song writing and electronic details, with some almost garage-rock like edge.

For those of you wondering, this whole music video is referring to the Hungarian Uprising in 1956 when Hungary was occupied by the Soviet Union. Its also dedicated to Jan Palach, a man who committed suicide by self immolation for political protest in Czech Republic. You can see Palach's picture @ 0:22 in the bottom of the mirror.
Fine piece of trivia, didn't know that the clip was about it, but allow me to correct you a bit. The uprising was in 1956, not 65. Soviet occupation happened in '45, and it supposed to be temporary, but they stuck around, that was the reason for the revolution.
That is incorrect, its regarding the Soviet occupation of Poland. Hence the Polish phrases within the video. During Soviet control many of the Polish people's only form of expression was through music.
It's referring to '56 and '68 for sure but it also in bits refers to the Romanian Revolution and the famous photo of the Tienmenan square incident in China.
As they release another new album, this will always remain the track that brought my attention to their music. It used to air on vh1 back then, which was the only option for contemporary music from the west, in India. is a song about a person longing for somebody near them, but feeling a sense of frustration in not being able to find that person. The lyrics portray a sense of desperation as the speaker is "chasing down an empty street" and "stalking cross the gallery" looking for their love. They are also facing a feeling that they are up against something larger than them, like a fight against the "enemy". In the end, the speaker is left expressing that all they want is for their love to be near them, despite the difficulty in finding them. It is a song of longing, but also of resilience as the speaker persists in their search.

I feel their pain! I had forgotten the band and the title name. Just heard it in the opening credits of an old TV show (Numb3rs). I could think of a few lines- but I couldn't find it that way after checking alot of sites and bands. So then I finally got around to looking up the show itself. After looking up the TV station. Because I didn't even know what episode it was, or even what it was About, because I didn't have the patience to watch the show first. So then I had to wade through all of that..! And then Finally! Eureka! Lol Thank you Jesus for the Internet! (Seriously! When I was a kid it hadn't even been invented yet... looking up random stuff was Hard! And time consuming...like this comment.... Thank you Jesus! (I fuckin love this song)
Just heard before a Leicester vs Aston villa game and the hours of playing this game just came back to me. I had a great childhood. Thank you FIFA series
Nobody in the comments seems to understand the significance of the music video. Yes, the song is rocking and amazing, but the music video is so much more: it is set in former Czechoslovakia during the Prague Spring which eventually led to the collapse of the Soviet Union. In the Eastern Bloc, there were mass demonstrations and activisms from individuals acting alone to protest the Warsaw Pact and violations of human freedom. The music video is dedicated to Jan Palach, a Czechoslovakian student who committed suicide by self-immolation to protest the Red Army invading his country and thus ending the revolution (the Prague Spring). The woman officer portrayed in the video is performing a similar act of suicide to protect the country's rights and ideals (saving the people in the building just long enough for them to finish the song) from being taken away by the Soviet Red Army. It's a very powerful video which deserves an enlightening discussion, not a comment section containing spam declaring "Fifa brought me here".
If you can recognize the words written on the wall and the newspaper you can easily find out that this video has nothing to do with the czechoslovakian thing. It is in Hungary. Otherwise the theory is interesting.

is a song about a person longing for somebody near them, but feeling a sense of frustration in not being able to find that person.

A moment of silence for everyone who can’t find this video
Thank you Jesus!

interesting as this song is about Jan Palach a Czech student who died in 1969 by setting himself on fire to protest the soviet occupation
Это не революция была...
This song just doesn't age and is so ahead of it's time considering all the nonsense we've been though the past 3 years! 👍🏻
Walk into any room with this playing, and trust me- HEADS WILL TURN

Marry me.
I'm so glad someone could be bothered to say this, I'm glad there's still hope for humanity.
If you can recognize the words written on the wall and the newspaper you can easily find out that this video has nothing to do with the czechoslovakian thing. It is in Hungary. Otherwise the theory is interesting.
Okay, no one cares.
An 'enlightening discussion' is not what you'll find on TH-cam, unless you dont know all the swears and racial slurs yet aha
