My Response to Joshua Chavez Proverbs

- Joshua Chavez made a video attacking me (and Phil Johnson) for doing an interview with Doreen Virtue. This is his latest dishonest attack on me and other men in the ministry. If all one knew was what Joshua presented in his video, there would indeed be cause for concern. Many people have emailed me asking genuine questions. His video seems to be compelling. It seems compelling, that is, until you know the full story and see the full interview I did with Doreen. He used but a 10 second clip from an hour-long interview and showed that 10 seconds over and over.
Now, this is a long video but I had to begin by showing numerous clips of his own video for context. I assume that many people will watch my video without first seeing his. Unless you know what he said, my response will not make sense. In the first half of this video you may actually think I am making his case for him. That is by design. This is a lesson in Proverbs 18:17. Please watch the whole thing before drawing a conclusion.
You will see that he is either being grossly negligent (and therefore immensely hypocritical) or is intentionally lying.
I will give you the full story and the full context. I will read to you emails exchanged between Doreen and myself. I want you to hear from her.

His sin is not, of course, in and of itself a good thing. But, my prayer is that this response will not only bring his deception to light, but also be a lesson for all of us in Proverbs 18:17.

I was saved from new age a year after Doreen got saved and it also took me time to shake off the new age cob webs. At first I tried to hear from God and wanted an experience so bad to confirm my salvation but God never spoke to me or gave me any visions and now I can thank God for that. My lack of personal experiences and validations drove me into deeper bible study and led me to biblical assurance of my faith rather than experiential assurance. My lack of visions, voices and experiences led me deeper in the word which now I know is more sure than any experience (2 Peter 1:19). And Justin I owe many thanks to you for helping me understand this as it seemed I was missing something earlier in my faith as other believers around me at that time seemed to hear from God and made me wonder what's wrong with me?. This Ministry was a means to lead me into expository preaching and full assurance in the sufficiency of scripture. Who knows if I would still be chasing an experience if I never found this ministry and others like Grace to you and Ligonier. Thank you Justin for shifting my focus from experiences into the peaceful assurance of Gods infallible Word!

@Channel Zero yes, that is what entails being saved. I repented and continually repent for my sins against the Lord and I'm born again and progressively sanctified. I stumbled around at first like most people in my search for solid doctrine, but I grew to where I am now. I used to be a totally different person but praise God for saving me. I hate the sin I used to love and I love the righteousness I used to hate, glory to God alone.
Justin, you certainly do not need to defend yourself to anyone who has listened to your clear, thoroughly Biblical ministry; your humility and forgiving spirit is a lesson for us all. Thank you and God bless you indeed.

Exactly this was my advice. It appears as if he wanted to revenge. Even Jesus was insulted and shamed yet He did not talk about his reputations and legacy etc.

I think this was a good video and it helped expose the falsehood of Josh.
I watched a few of his videos & even before watching this, all I noticed was that he always attempts impeach people (not ideas), not by what they themselves teach, but by their association. And he has this weird obsession with always wanting to prove everyone a hypocrite.

Really was...... Guy is really trying to bust him down in a mean way. I've watched a few of Justins videos on charismatic movement & he always shows fruits of the Spirit , always. He told us beloved test the spirit & Justin spirit seems good to me , keep in mind im very new at this , but yes

Thank you Justin. I was a follower of Doreen Virtue prior to my conversion and her conversion. The minute I saw that video I knew it was pre-conversion. Because of her clothing. See I followed her very closely when the both of us were not converted. I remember the transition of her conversion. I remember thinking how crazy it was that she rebuked everything. Then a couple years later I found myself in that same place, giving my life to Christ. I have watched countless videos of hers rebuking her old life, tarot cards and more. In fact it was through her videos that I found yours. This man truly needs prayers for a repentant and changed heart of flesh from stone. Again thank you for sharing this. Is a true example of a Godly response.

Justin certainly had a better attitude throughout. Joshua had an attitude that seemed angry. I was embarrassed for him. He was hard to listen to.
When anyone becomes a believer they often suffer from bad teaching and bad practicing. But Jesus leads us through these experiences
Yes agreed! We must also want want to be taught as well and humble. I have a ministry channel as well and many people asked why I did not make videos for about a year now and I told them that in that time of waiting Jesus had been revealing to me on how to avoid turning the ministry into a ministry of shaming and exposing all of the time instead of feeding His sheep. He showed me many channels that were only doing it for this reason and not for the kingdom and how tempting it is for anyone’s flesh if you do not care more about Jesus using you to save people more than just making people look bad. It was placed on my heart to warn Joshua as well because Satan uses our passion to spouse evil and distracts us with that. Once something is exposed keep stepping but Satan will keep you distracted on the same things if you let him and that is how many ministry channels have just turned into knowledge taken from the tree of knowledge of good and evil and not from the tree of life. So many channels turn into gossip and backbiting channels and not channels of edification when exposing is done properly. Jesus was showing me how there are billions upon billions of lies in the world and that Satan will indeed try to keep you preoccupied with entertaining the goats and while thinking you are feeding the sheep but His sheep remain hungry as well as the one hosting the ministry channel because they rarely crack open the Bible to spend time with Jesus because they are looking for the next thing to expose. This is why we must always keep the focus onJesus first! Focus more on exposing a doctrine or false teaching over the man unless he is flat out a false prophet and when you notice that that is because Jesus will show you by their speech and mannerisms that they do not witness and testify to the Father. He will show you easily if someone does not belong to Him when you are truly seeking His face.
Agreed that's why modern calvinism won't last. It really has no resemblance to what Calvin actually stood for. They all teach counter reformation eschatology. Futurism of rome.
@@ServantStatusMinistries what a bunch of religious sounding words that are full of doctrinal errors. Jesus reveals things to You? That's heresy. Jesus final message is the bible itself. Everything God ever spoke became scripture. You're now adding to it. And you think you're the only one that was going to say something about Mr. Chavez? How self centered is that? Where do you get the idea that anyone has ever taken anything from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil? God would NOT allow it. That's how Adam and Eve fell into sin. God would not let that continue. It doesn't exist anymore. Plus if they ate of the tree of life after eating of the other tree; they would be forever in a state of sin. That's the condition their life would be in. Next: No one gives witness or testifies to the Father. The only witness is from the holy spirit about Jesus. Rev 19:10. God neither wants or needs your "testimony". The only testimony anyone has is that they are a dirty rotten sinner in need of a Savior. Period. Your ideas are full of holes. That's one of many uses of the bible. It's how to know false teaching by knowing scripture. False teaching is in every book of the new testament except one. I think it's important.
jerry potter its amazing how many conclusions you jumped to. Jesus said specifically His sheep HEAR His voice and they follow. While you are on your walk with Christ there is nothing outside of His Word that He reveals to you that is in contradictory to you. The Holy Spirit guides and teaches you all things and even in scripture it states that He will pour out His spirit to where sons and daughters will dream dreams and have visions. How do you expect to grow Holy in your walk and for the Holy Spirit to GUIDE you if you think He doesn’t reveal things to you? That’s doctrinal error. Along my walk the Holy Spirit revealed to me how much anime and music is satanic, how people do witchcraft on you, idols within your home we were taught growing up was ok, video games being demonic and to stop playing them, comic book characters are a rehash of ancient idols and gods once worshipped of old, taking the desire for me to wear make up, leggings, weave, I could keep going. These are things plus more Jesus will reveal to you if you ask and humble your heart. If you want to let go of things you do out of ignorance He shows you. It’s not heresy because I know for a fact I would desire to stop doing many things of the flesh I no longer do. Plus why would you think I was the only one that had something to say about Chavez? Didn’t even mention that. There are many many times the Holy Spirit will speak within someone saved. Again to know when someone is speaking of their own or if it’s the Holy Spirit speaking through them as you have said already, you must know and be living in a Gods Word. Again He shows you who isn’t of His cold to protect you and yes He shows in His Word and by allowing people to reveal their own fruits. Again no where did I say God needs anything which He doesn’t from His creation nor does He need my testimony. You’re missing the point. You can spot a fake and false prophet who can preach what the Bible says all day but who doesn’t have the Holy Spirit in them. If you are truly a worker in Gods Harvest you direct people back to the Father. It is your body that God uses and it is the Holy Spirit that does the witnessing. We don’t do a thing. I didn’t even say anything about giving my personal testimony. The Holy Spirit in you will speak and testify of His own. That’s literally the gospel which is Gods Word about His Son saving us from our sins. Fake pastors will focus more on knowledge and not what saves which is the gospel. You really should ask questions before jumping straight to conclusions. Jesus is the tree of life. Go to Him to ask about what I mentioned regarding the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. This only came about when I study and read Gods Word and He reveals more of His Word to me. He can do the same with you. There are many layers to Him when you seek His teaching. You should go to Him before saying what God wouldn’t allow. You aren’t God to know that. He allows many things to teach lessons and to prove points and because of the option of choice.

Also the point of it all was Peter saying THIS IS THAT. It's been fulfilled. Joel didn't speak of speaking in tongues and yet Peter said referring to what was going on, This IS That. Peter did not mention the early and latter rain that Joel spoke of. Hebrews 1:1 (in the greek) it says In the last of these days. What days? The days in which God has spoken to us by his son. The mantle was given to the apostles by Jesus in order to finish God's revelation to us. It's called the bible. It's finished as well as the dreams or visions and who is supposed to do them. When the spirit comes "He will lead and guide you into ALL THE TRUTH." It is not all truth. If it were all truth, we would be equal to God. The greek has the definite article "THE" in it. It's talking about all the truth of who Jesus is. Revel:19:10. It's the testimony of Jesus; the bible. Nowhere in the bible does it say that we should give any personal testimony. We now read about the Spirit's testimony about Jesus. The reveling that the Holy Spirit does is by helping us to understand what the bible is saying. However, there has to be proper translation and not interpretation. Too many people have no idea what the bible is really saying because of not even understanding English let alone the Greek. And worse is taking things out of context, just like dreams. The bible teaches that God has limited himself in certain areas and one of which is the totality of the bible and his word being given in a completed form. If God speaks to anyone it has to be through already given scripture. People are far too subject to their feelings and emotions which leads to biblical errors. As for your last few words of "option of choice": I sincerely hope you're not referring to "free will". It's not in the bible. Predestination wipes out the idea of free will. God will have mercy on whom he will have mercy and others are vessels of Wrath. Can the clay say to the potter, why have YOU made me this way? Man does not have the mind of God; but only the Spirit. So if you don't have the spirit, no one can even make a proper choice in anything. But even with the spirit, the natural man still exists with his sin nature. If it wasn't for God calling us out, no one would be saved. A spiritually dead corps can NOT call out to anyone. Those who call on the Lord have already been chosen before the foundation of the world. People who think they have "free will" are only exorcising their own sin nature.
Thank you for addressing this issue. I made a comment on F4F that I have tried to watch Chavez in the past but I found him to be judgmental, prideful and self-righteous. Doreen handled her response and explanation with humility and a gentle heart.
I am a recovering Mormon. I used to follow Joshua Chavez until I saw this completely unjustified blitz on Justin Peters. Your focus was on Doreen coming out of Pagan, misled new age mysticisim. Chavez wants to raise cain over an interview, with a former pagan? Chavez showed he missed the complete point of being a christian and taking a person at face value when they are saved and on a new walk with Christ. Justin, you did an excellent job with this video, I am glad you responded to him as I saw your comment on his video that he pinned and how you got lambasted by his followers. Thank you so much for all that you do, you are a tremendous help to people and I'm thankful for you, John MacArthur and many others who have taught me a lot. There are those of us who are with you to the end of the line, we appreciate your honesty, humility, integrity, dedication to the Truth of Scripture. Doreen is a relatively new believer and seems to be humble and open to learning and growing in her knowledge of God and the truth. We all need grace as we learn and grow.

It's all in Scripture about giving PRAISE and glory to God telling where you come from or out of is to give PRAISE in that HE is faithful and does come after us in our error and that HE is trustworthy. I tell people all the time on utube and in public how much I've been forgiven and what a mess I would be if not for CHRIST JESUS and the gospel. Her testimony was mostly about her and her visions and not glorifyin CHRIST JESUS. He is the reward and it's about HIM and we only mention ourselves when we want to tell who it is he saved and how thankful we are.

This video was a learning tool for sure. Thank you Justin for taking the time to put all of it together. I had never heard of this buffoon until now. My first major change in my life was watching Doreen interview a couple who worked for a WOF Ministry (of which I was deeply involved with). It was a tough pill to swallow, but much needed! I had tears running during parts of your message. I can only imagine what it felt like after receiving this information. As I always used to Say: we have so many folks on this earth who have amazing gifts and talents who (unfortunately) use them for evil instead of good...
I now say the same with false preachers - if they were truly given these talents and gifts from God in the first place.
Doreen's emails were tugging at my heart. I always learn something good for my benefit when I watch you.... As we could see the same with Doreen.
You're responses to all of this foolishness was godly and appropriate.
I have been that lost sheep for way too long. It's Pastors like you who are helping me get my feet planted in rich soil so that I can grow and produce good fruit to glorify God and Jesus Christ.

Justin, I felt the pain and personalized attack of your heart and character. I am genuinely sorry but wanted to encourage you and let you know that I genuinely appreciate you as a man, and a brother. You are a clear communicator, precise, detailed, affirming, respectful and humble. In every video I've watched, that's who you are. Your desire to share God's word is obvious, and you are a rock solid teacher, one I and others can easily learn from. Be encouraged, sir, and continue forward.

It destroys all of modern christianity and a child can understand the simplicity of walking in love and faithful obedience. All modern christianity is nonsense. Well, now I know why Doreen has a video up about being slandered!! The arrogance and deception in his video is EXTREMELY alarming. I have watched you, Paul Washer, John MacArthur for YEARS and Doreen for quite a few months. Watching her grow from a babe in Christ has been beautiful, and she has been honest every step of the way about her former life. The man SHOULD be ashamed, but somehow I doubt he is. My heart breaks for Doreen. The way she genuinely begged for forgiveness and tried to prove she is changed. It brings a tear to my eye. We can tell she has changed, just by the grace she offers. This Joshua fella and his commenters seem so angry, and it isn't a righteous anger.

After hearing all the testimony of Doreen's growing character in Christ, your words (the 10 seconds Chavez actually used from the interview) prove to be wonderfully accurate and filled with grace (Col. 4:6).

Justin you are without a doubt a top-shelf Christian that knows his stuff since I've been watching your videos my Christian walk has greatly improved. You back everything up with scripture and do not take it out of context. I am an old Montana boy and would love to jump the Border one day to come see you in Idaho. I love Justin Peters. I think it doesn’t take long to understand his calling. I have sent his videos to so many people and am aware how he helps to open the eyes of the list and confused. I was one of the lost and as I cry I can tell you if it was not for Justin I would still be confused and not understanding my Father Jesus. I actually now see a calling to do the same as Justin is doing so others can also not be led astray. God Bless you Justin. Thank you for all you do. You saved me from so much confusion and I now read and study my bible as I should of done so many years ago. Don’t be lead astray.

This is a very unbiblical and/or presumptuous statement. Any man or woman is born again by the Spirit of God, then they DO belong to THE church. Joining some pagan temple with a cross on the sign does not make you a Christian. And NOT joining that same pagan temple does not make you NOT a A Christian. And If you, me, Joshua, or anybody else chooses to come out of this apostate institutional religious system in America, they are still a member of Christ's body, which is the church.
"Where do you go to church?"
This is a statement rooted in tradition, but not correct theology. Sisnce God does not dwell in temples made by human hands, there is no PLACE that is called "to church". If you cared about being biblically correct instead of promoting an apostate religious system, you would say, "Where does the church meet?"
"People who don't go to church have no accountability."
Well again this is simply NOT true. Whom the Lord loves, He chastens. No man that has the Holy Spirit living in him would dare suggest that God's people have no accountability, as they know from personal experience the conviction of their Lord when they sin. We are accountable to our Lord Jesus Christ, and Him only do we serve. But since you mentioned accountability, since when are pastors accountable to anyone? Seems to me that every one of these religious themed businesses that I ever went to, the pastors surround themselves with yes men, that they usually hand select that will do only what the preacher wants, and will report anyone that disagrees. There is no accountability in the apostate religious system, so this argument is very hypocritical at best.
And to criticize believers that meet in a home with no paid clergy is to criticize believers in the book of Acts. Your statement seems to admire the religious leaders that had Christ put to death than the believers that met in homes because of the apostasy of the religious leaders in their day. And there is nothing new under the sun.

Well you should watch his response now that he has overcome the "Fair Use" complaint filed by Doreen Virtue (fake name). Justin approved of her testimony the moment her appeared on her Podcast. And his tiny apology saying he "did not know" (now proven false) about her past falls short for a man who has made a career based on discernment.
@@IrishDawg22 PROVE THAT JUSTIN KNEW IT . Even Joshua couldn't prove it. He is taking what she said and adding it to him being on her show and concluding a story. If he knew it was a fact why does he keep asking what is going on. You know who else accused the brethren in hostile ways? Satan does. You said now proven false but I have yet seen the video where Doreen herself said Justin I have seen Jesus. Until someone can prove that video you have no evidence.
This guy isn’t my idol. By any means. Doreen virtue was a new Christian and he had her on his show. My point was Chavez was so angry I couldn’t watch it. I really wouldn’t be surprised if any man fell anymore. But I do like Justin peters. I believe at least from what I know that he is solid. Praying he stays that way.
Joshua has his testimony written on his website or blog 'beginningofsorrows'. After watching him come against Doreen and then going back and reading his own testimony its almost heart breaking that he would attack someone coming out of the same, albeit different circumstances ungodly lifestyle. He mentions several times about how angry he was in life. He hasn't seemed to be able to shake that anger loose. Here are a few lines from his testimony.
"I would frequently wake up in a panic, sweating, having dreamed I was dying and going to hell."
"For the next two months in that jail all I did was read the Bible and talk to others about Jesus. They started calling me “Jesus”. "
"I immediately began attending a large church in my town as this was the man I heard on the radio and I seemed to learn from him. I became heavily involved and was there as much as possible. I soon joined and later began leading an apologetics ministry with their college group. In hindsight I probably shouldn’t have been leading anything that new in the Lord, but I was willing and available."
This next one is from his 'statement of faith
"We yearn for the unity of the Spirit, such unity seen as with other Bible-based evangelical Christians, churches, and ministries - even where we may not share all the same nonessential doctrines."
He is a wrathful man and I am so sorry that you Justin and Doreen have had to endure the focus of his attention.
I for some reason, honestly feel heartbroken for him (easy for me as I am not his target), it seems something has deeply wounded him and I question if he is following the same God I am. Justin is humble, Doreen is humble, Joshua is angry and wrathful.

I needn't go on about how using 10 second clips is how news often works in the secular world, but this is outrageous coming from someone (Joshua Chavez) who claims to be fighting for the faith!! I've watched a number of Mr Chavez's videos and (in my view) he demonstrates a lack of grace (i.e. constantly attacking well known ministers such as Mr Peters) and comes across as legalistic in some of his interpretations. While I have previously believed he thought he was contending for the faith, Mr Chavez, with this latest diatribe has shown himself as hateful and spiteful.
Having looked at his channel once in a while (his videos are WAY to long), it is funny that he has so twisted his audience that when he actually puts out truth, they attack him for it. (Check the comments in his Christmas video.)

Yeah, I could see that he had a very unbalanced attitude and sadly seemed to enjoy finding fault in people and mocking them. His Francis Chan video seemed to bring up serious concerns though so I thought I could ignore his attitude and use his research to make my own decisions but this recent video about Doreen showed his true colours and that he is so quick to assume fault and not allow for any human error in a teacher. It also showed his lack of research skills as I can’t believe he made it seem like she taught new age beliefs using the old video when her entire ministry is about exposing the new age... I feel really bad for Doreen and Josh sadly doesn’t seem to care if he’s slandering her for being confused and is actually ridiculing her for possibly being in error about her vision and rethinking it now.

It's simple. I have a small youtube channel and I've learned I can exponentially increase my views and subs by talking about controversial issues and making hit pieces on pastors which is not at all what I wish to do, so I don't. People are drawn to controversy and even if Chaves is cringeworthy he is attacking almost everybody so those who want controversy flock to his channel. If you made a channel that did nothing but "expose" hypocrites and whatnot you could probably grow your channel faster than he did.

Only one exception with your response video, Mr. Peters...you said all testimonys are powerful. I beg to differ...my own testimony in profoundly mundain. My testimony was simply having my aberrant view of soteriology and specifically assurance lovingly challenged by a pastor followed up by the presentation of the Gospel....no grand or glorious event...just a humbling, if not humiliating experience in front of a men's Bible study. Looking back, God was confronting a prideful and arrogant man [me] using humiliation to mercifully and graciously correct and save me...for me personally, wonderful...but, I must confess, un-profound in the extreme. There are so many other conversions that ARE very profound and powerful--murderous drug dealers receiving God's grace and most wonderful mercy as well as your own--these are the glorious works of God of which I think when the topic of a powerful conversion is in view.
Nevertheless, I thank the most holy Father in heaven, through His Son our Savior and Lord, Christ Jesus, for your ministry and continued good health through these trying and troubled times. And, God bless Ms. Virtue for her humble and gracious testimony--truly powerful.

Doreen Virtue has repented of her fomer new age teachings. How is it honest to bring up old things she did before she became biblically literate? I would not want people to quote me on things I said and did when I was in the charismatic movement 20 years ago and imply that I still held to heretical teachings. One does not grow up in a day. She has said after 25 years in The new age and Christian Science she is still throwing out wrong teachings she learned she’s been a Christian only 3 years. She is showing fruit as she is going through the sanctification process like we all are. I believe Justin is sincere and believes what he teaches. But there are many scriptures in the old and new testement concerning dreams and visions. Also scripture concerning the gifts of the Spirit and speaking in tongues. He never mentions these scriptures. We all need to rightly divide the Word. Justin does not do that. I visited his site once but when I investigated further and learned he was critical of you, I grabbed the "remote". I was seeking discernment, and without much prayer I heeded his videos about Todd Friel (who was helpful to me when I first truly believed and was converted). To be honest, it hurt my conscience, it really did. Because of His stance, I unfollowed Friel and people with calvinists views out of fear. But by God’s grace, even before this video, I’ve distanced myself from his “teaching”. God is so faithful! Please, pray for me to grow in Christ faithfully, as well as seeking unity and loving other believers.
The lesson for me is this, to seek the LORD by His Word alone, to discern people based on His Word, and to seek and cherish unity with believers of Jesus. There’s more to be learned, so much more growth needed.
Thank you, Justin, for making this video. Thank the LORD for His grace and allowing me to see this video, for His Forgiveness. May God be glorified.
Listening to Chavez rant is not only cringeworthy and unbiblical, but is truly childish . His sarcasm is the farthest characteristic of Jesus.
The thing about Justin is even though Chavez attacks him and misrepresents him, Justin still tells us to pray for him. Peters mirrors the character of Jesus while Chavez mockery is not from our Father in heaven but from the Father of Lies.
I am still glad that Chavez has a ministry, because he stands as a constant warning to me of the kind of person I, left to my own devices, am always in danger of becoming, and of the value of humility and a willingness to believe the best about people who fall into error.

I had in the beginning of my faith heard and watched a couple of his videos on Phil Johnson and Todd Friel (I didn't know about Justin Peters yet) and I was shocked because I loved the stuff of Phil and Todd as I was trying to navigate my faith. However, by the grace of God, He gave me the wisdom to write to them asking them to help me understand what he was saying and they were gracious enough to clarify and help me see through his(Servus Christi's) facade.
Nowadays, even if I hear about his videos it infuriates and greatly disappoints me. Sad to see after years, he still hasn't humbled himself.

Hurt? She was pulled from the fire... she had a false testimony about a false Jesus out there on the internet for 3 years and NONE of these false preachers did a thing to correct her in TRUTH! He was not literally calling into question your beliefs, in several of his videos he makes it clear he understands where you stand on most issues. The point of the video was you appearing on a podcast exposing your followers to a dangerous person like Doreen Virtue. And your tiny apology saying "you did not know" falls way short for a man in your position and influence with so many followers. He is actually right and you should be very humble to accept his correction.

I’ve been watching a lot of your videos, and I’m very grateful for the earthly example you set of what a Christian should walk like. For some reason (pride?) Joshua has gone out of his way to look for and (in this case) create or fabricate opportunities to attack. This is very unbecoming. I have to believe it was difficult to put this response together and spend hours upon hours watching this character attack. His sarcasm and pride are only helpful to his pride and should certainly be put aside when attempting ministry. Thank you for the thorough and humble response.
It is actually scary to see the comments section. First off, I don’t like Joshua. I think he has a lot to learn. But, If you believe in God, you are called to think with Logic, not emotion. It is extremely concerning to see how easily people are just seduced by someone speaking “gently”. Almost all the people comment how “gentle” and “calm” Justin is. This seems to have an effect of making everyone ignore anything of substance or content of what Justin is actually saying. Do you all not realize that people are manipulative? Jesus Himself was not “docile” during the majority of His earthly ministry. He was flipping over tables. He was calling out hypocrites. He was warning of Hell (he spoke of Hell much more than He spoke of Heaven). I would implore those of you who immediately were seduced by a spirit of “gentleness” and “calm” to re think who God is and how manipulative people can be and how dangerous it is to immediately consider someone “sincere” or “good” just because of how the “act”. This is an extremely dangerous way of thinking. Pray about this if you actually believe in the One True God of the Bible.
I was saved out of the charismatic Prosperity Gospel type of church. I can say without a doubt, it was a couple of years of searching and before I was saved. There was a lot of bad information in my head that had to be undone. I have friends who were in that church with me years ago and are still going through that process. It is good to see support of someone publicly who is making the transition from Bad Religion to being a true Christian. Thank you for supporting Doreen. We will pray for Joshua. He doesn't realize it, but he's causing way more problems by being incendiary in the body of Christ.
Jesus saves. Whoever is reading this and going through hard times, sorrow, loss, addictions and depression. God is lifting you up dont give up

Thanks i too needed to here that. I tried to defend our dear brother Justin and Phil Johnston and Doreen Virtue. But i was heavily attacked and could go no further as i am not well enough now (something i doubt they would take into consideration). I thank God for the ministry of these men and others like them. He does not want to lose his highly paid position. And his friends “understand” that and let it slide!

Marco Rubio: I guess you missed the video of the phone calls these two guys had. Chavez complained and argued for one hour and fifteen minutes and wouldn't let Justin speak. I was amazed at how much restraint Justin showed, but that comes from the holy spirit. This was not a discussion. It was a railroad job from the beginning. That has been his tactic every time.

I don't know if I can be an encouragement to someone, but I am glad that Justin did this. By God's grace I have found forgiveness for having a critical spirit, so seeing Joshua Chavez attack Peters and Doreen Virtue like this, shamefully, reminds me of attitudes that I have had that are wrong. I am watching this with my little boy sleeping peacefully next to me, praising God for his mercy and kindness towards me, and being challenged again that while the Truth must be stood for, Christ does not have a critical spirit and He does not mock. So thank you Justin Peters for doing this. It challenges me and gives me another person to pray for.

Dear Mr. Peters, I would like to know your opinion on a subject that has been bugging me for a long time. And that subject is when people all over the internet, tell people to pray for others; especially those like Hillary Clinton, (might as well pray for Joseph Stalin,) Hollywood celebrities, and so forth. My response to them is always the same. Why should I pray for them; they are not in my circle of personal contact. I do not know them, nor will I ever know them, or meet them.
In every community, the Christians that know these people personally; their family, friends, and acquaintances, are the ones who can, and should, pray for them. Why should I, a person thousands of miles away, and one who does NOT know them personally; why should I pray for them? Their response to me is usually the scripture about the good Samaritan. Well, that scripture destroys their argument, and enforces mine. The good Samaritan came across that person, physically, within his reach and sight. He saw the person with his own eyes.
My argument has been that no one on this planet, can possibly pray for every single one of the 7+billion people, on a name to name basis. There are billions that need prayer, and I cannot pray for them all. The Christians in the areas of those that need prayer, in their own communities, are the ones that can do the praying. And why should I and others, who don't know them and do not live in their area, pray for them? Because they are famous and seen on TV? And because of that, do they warrant extra prayers? How many prayers are needed for God to work his work? Are more prayers required and demanded for the "elites" because they are famous? And what about that man or woman in Peru, that needs prayer, but doesn't get it, simply because of the fact that they have not been seen ON TV?
So my answer to them is that if they wish to pray for them, it is their right to do so, but I will not, since they are not in my area. I mean there are hundreds of thousands, maybe millions, of whom are called "the elites," and almost every day, more are added; simply because they come on TV, radio, or print media. Not one of those do I know personally. And every one of them, has someone in their sphere of influence, that can pray for them. That is why Christians are all over the world. In each area of the world, wherever there are Christians, it is up to them to pray for those that need it, in their area. So is it wrong for me to feel this way? Should I spend my time and search out every single person that is famous or known, in all forms of media, Hollywood, and government, and pray for them? Can anyone do that? I don't think that it can be done, even if one were to try. So I don't. I have decided that those near to each one of them, can do the praying.

He has taken another meaning to calling out “false” teachers. Its a sanctification process and Joshua is one I fear for by the measure he is judging others he will be judged. First get the log out of your own eye, THEN you can judge righteously. I really like Peters response, very accurate and biblical.

I responded to what I saw as wrong guilt by association accusations. e.g. a photo that includes MacArthur with some heretic. Also challenged him on the energy he uses against reform/calvinism leaders (I am not reform) and not much energy against the prosperity preachers. (It is clear Chavez has a huge chip on his shoulder and I am not sure why) He was viscous in his response. My conclusion? It is a click bait site. Chavez is an angry person. It's all about money. Don't need to watch any more Chavez videos because I have seen enough and did my investigation. Justin Peters confirms what I already know.

As an avid Bible student and teacher to women for 46 years, and a Pentecostal born again Christ follower, are you saying that ALL Pentecostals/Charismatics are in error? I was baptised with the Holy Spirit and do speak in tongues as I pray, and on several occasions throughout my life God has healed me physically. I've survived three types of cancer, major liver failure, and various other physical illnesses. Matthew 8:17 was a verse the Holy Spirit illuminated to me and as I prayed and accepted this verse I was healed completely to my doctor's amazement. God's Word is "alive and powerful", is "Spirit and life", and His Word healed me. "He sent His Word and healed them of their destructions." Psalm107:20. As far as God not only speaking through His Son...the Living Word, what about Acts 2:16-18? God has poured out His Spirit on all who are born again, repented of sin, received Christ as Lord and Savior, and Mark 16:15-18 is vital for us to receive and do.
