    That is the lowest idling 3.0 I’ve heard yet! Mine would go less that 1000rpm for idling or it dies. Very nice job sir. 🇨🇦👍🏼

    Whats your opinion on using a little dielectric grease in the cap socket to prevent any moisture from condensing or getting in there and causing issues? I've heard it both ways....

    • @WhitehouseFarmVet
      @WhitehouseFarmVet  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No issues, it's meant for electrical and would probably prevent moisture which on a boat there is alot! Lol thanks for watching and have a great summer!👍

    Question. My boat was running fine/great. Tested it at home prior to going out and it ran fine. Put it in the water and it just turns over… is the coal supposed to have oil in it?

    • @WhitehouseFarmVet
      @WhitehouseFarmVet  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Coil? If so yes and if leaking time to replace the coil! Thanks for watching!😊

    Just curious when setting the points gap is there anything else that needs to be done first or do you just loosen the screw and set them

    • @WhitehouseFarmVet
      @WhitehouseFarmVet  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yup just make sure the rubbing block is on one of the high points of the cam lobe then set with feeler gauge to correct gap! Thanks for watching!👍

      @@WhitehouseFarmVet That's a MAJOR step.

      @badcopnodonut607 it's not a major step just sounds like it using the technical parts names! Before electronic ignitions points were standard in every machine! It's actually really simple! Thanks for watching!

    Very good video man I learned so much by watching this video. I just did my tune up, plugs and wires changed, Distributor Cap and Rotor changed as well as the oul plus filter. I use my boat for fishing using my trolling motor the majority of the time and don't do any of the water sport stuff. So with that said how often should I perform a tune up? Thanks

    • @WhitehouseFarmVet
      @WhitehouseFarmVet  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Awesome thank you so much! Honestly the biggest thing with how often do you have to do a tune up comes down to if you are using the points they have to be checked to make sure they are not corroded each year because obviously it's a boat and constantly on or in water with humidity etc etc so they corrode alot faster than say a cars points would! Rule of thumb check them before the start if each year ,keep some sand paper or a dollar store nail file on your boat and it's worth it to have a back up set if you get really stuck out on the water, but everything else as long as its firing up and sounds good your cap and plugs and spark plugs can easily last 2 to 3 season's plus, it all just comes down to maintaining your engine, I know if I am going out on the water I always make sure I put a trickle charger on the battery the night before and then check everything from oil level to wires pumps and make sure everything is working then I hook it up to the muffs and let it warm up and make sure everything is working properly, I definitely feel even better going out with the new trolling motor I put on it's a nice piece of mind that I wont need to be paddling or waiting for someone to tow just in case !😂 But back to your original question if you just replaced all that stuff and primarily use the trolling motor you can easily go years before needing a change but like I said make sure to at least inspect and test! Thank you so much for watching and have a great summer coming up!👍😊🎣

    What kind of oil is recommended for the OMC 3.0?

    • @WhitehouseFarmVet

      Wal-mart 2 stroke quicksilver, you can buy other oils for more money but this works great and is priced right! Thank you for watching!

    Great video! I noticed what I think is a 'ski pylon platform' in front of the motor? If you installed it, or even if U hired it out, I would appreciate a video that talked about it, and that covered the measurements, and location chosen, and how it was secured to the boat's framing, etc. As I would like to install such in my boat, that has the same engine! Also, what make and length, and model year is your boat?

    • @WhitehouseFarmVet
      @WhitehouseFarmVet  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Awesome thank you! I pretty much went off of where it was originally installed but my floor was a little soft and I wanted to beef it up because its alot of force pulling even connected to the floor and frame here is a video about what I did on the boat,

    I noticed you didn't show where each plug wire goes in relation to #1cylinder. You mentioned the firing order but that doesn't help if you got the plug wires wrong. There's a square notch that orients the cap and wires correctly. If you don't know how to find dead center on #1 you might be in trouble otherwise.

      Check your coil with voltmeter if that's not it take a spark plug out or if you have a tester and make sure you see a nice bright spark!
