都是西維吉尼亞州的別稱，因為該州產煤，多礦工，所以被稱為礦工的妻子。採礦的關係，空中常常灰色瀰漫，湖水水也不像一般清澈能映出藍天，所以又被稱作「藍水的陌生人」，指看不到藍水。
