The one where there's a benzene spill.. The hospital has tons of patients, weaver collapses, and basically carter takes over and turns the cafeteria in to an emergency rom is probably the most dramatic.
I know Pratt was supposed to be like this wild card but I never liked him, he was arrogant and judgmental and even his personal life didn't give him a reason to act the way he did all the time🙄
The ER episode I remember from my childhood was the one when Luka's hand is put in the vice- I adored Luka (even at like 10-11) and to this day haven't been able to watch that bit again :) lol
In my opinion there should have been a clashing scene between Carter and the mother as well. Even with the revelation that Pratts idea wouldn't have worked to the mother it wouldn't have mattered to her. She would have wanted to believe Pratts idea or any idea or string of hope coukd save her daughter. Imagine the frustration she would have felt. Hearing one doctor clashing with the other. One is offering hope only to have it overruled by the other. It would be agonizing. She would have gone from grief, tgen possibly to rage. Helk, she'd be beyond rage believing Carter let her daughter die *even though we know he did everything he could. She would have felt otherwise. What Do You Guys Think?
That's why Carter didn't want Pratt to go back in. With him dealing with the body. He could answer the mothers questions at the same time . Part of his job was to explain why something wouldn't work
This episode is AWESOME, in my opinion. Not the best, though, which somes a season later imo (from the episodes that I actually SAW: First Snowfall, season 9), but i really loved the little famous surprise at the very end of this YAY!
I have little sisters that r twins and I almost lost one but galdy shes ok and I dont ever want the thought of going through seeing one or both my little sisters gone or even my family..
Look we get it, some you are doctors or nurses or techs, etc. but this is a T.V show. It’s not going to be accurate. We get that you have the knowledge. Just enjoy it. Jesus Christ.
Plus, Michael Crichton (the show's creator) was a medical student. Everything in the show isn't accurate but there's a lot that IS, and that's where his medical knowledge shines.
In a strict quarantine situation she probably would have been. They had to be locked up from everyone else and they wouldn't kick them out risking further exposure to other patients and personal
We allow parents in the room while actively working pediatric full arrests. It helps them see everything possible is being done. I agree that with a quarantine, since she had already been exposed, odds are they would have all remained in the same room as well.
In the UK if the patient isn't going to live so long as family are OK with it they can be present when CPR stops . They can also sit with the body for a while. It helps with the grief process
Yep, but the problem with this specific instance is that by this point when the show takes place, they weren't giving out the smallpox vaccine anymore. Smallpox by this point had been long since eradicated and monkeypox was very rare, so they stopped giving out the vaccine.
I want to help people put this is not the job i would be crying even it was my enemy i do not do good under pressure every starts to get hot even in the winter
If I remember correctly, the parents were anti-vaxxers. A quick look at the CDC website shows that Ashley is right. We don't vaccinate for small pox in the US anymore. But I don't think that was part of the episode. The child died because her parents didn't believe in vaccines.
@@Mybpeterson That's not the case. We don't vaccinate for smallpox anymore because it's been decades since the last case of Smallpox. Smallpox is a dead disease now, the first ever to be completely eradicated. Near the end of the second episode they realize it's not Smallpox, it's monkeypox. A similar disease that isn't as virulent or contagious.
It wasn't smallpox, but a variant of monkeypox that was very similar to smallpox. Also, smallpox has been eradicated, that's why they weren't vaccinated for it.
Yes it did in the 1940s in London, England. One of the saddest cases in history and what history books didn't tell anyone that it also spread through parts of Europe and also members of the Nazi party fell victim to it.

Carter: “Your job is to SHUT UP and follow my lead!!”
Me: Dr. Benton, is that you?
Watching this during COVID-19.
Wrong type of mask for an airborne virus and he didn’t wash his hands or disinfect them before taking off his mask...
He also defibrillated for asystole and checked for pulses with CPR (which has no validated utility).
Calm down. It’s a tv show.

Its the 90s. Different time different procedures and mentality. Plus this is a drama tv show
@@heatherc.5834 to be fair, I don't think any show does the shocking correctly
When the mother starts crying it's so gut-wrenching.
The mother was crying because she now realizes her arrogance of not listening to science and vaccines

A gas leak?
Yeah, Pratt asking Carter to lead means he obviously doesn’t know him well
What season was that
@@TheJemima1994 benzene spill was 4 or 5
@@rdgloveshouse No, benzene. A chemical which by itself is toxic and whose fumes can incapacitate or kill someone too.
I love how even in crisis Pratts still a smartass!!

7 years ago its was a random interesting show
No one would expect to relate to this that closely (except some doctors)
Yeah, because smallpox is back and raiding the world...
You're kidding me, right? Covid is a fucking joke compared to smallpox.
You don't shock in Asystole 😲🙈

Her child is dying. In the UK the family is allowed in CPR to say goodbye if they are OK with it
It helps with the grief

He should have kept going as long as ideas were coming in
