    I'm new at pour painting. I wanted to know if you left the base white coat dry before you add the paint to it? Please, any help would be appreciated. Thank you! Loving what I've seen so far that you've done. 💜

      Hi! Thank you so much! I didn't let the white dry first. 🎨🦒

      @TheCharmingGiraffe ok, thank you. I'm practicing with different techniques so see which one I like best. I'm working on Halloween color ones but so far they aren't turning out well. I think I'm using too much black. Thank goodness tiles are only 13 cents each lol

    Oh I really love this! What do you do with them when dry? Glaze? Resin?

    what did you do to prep the tiles? were they glazed and youo just painted them? also, what about using the cheap little baggies, instead of saran wrap? I cant work with saran wrap, always ends up in a big crumpled ball

    • @TheCharmingGiraffe
      @TheCharmingGiraffe  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just clean it with isopropyl alcohol or a baby wipe. I'm pretty sure they are glazed. Yep just started pouring on them. Yes you can use sandwich baggies. Yes I have to get the special box with the slide cutter in order to have a fighting chance against the plastic wrap. 🤣🤣🤣

    These are gorgeous 😍 How long do they take to dry before you can seal them?

    • @TheCharmingGiraffe
      @TheCharmingGiraffe  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wait about 2 weeks minimum but usually I forget to do them and they sit for months lol 🤣🖌️🦒

      @@TheCharmingGiraffe Thanks. And do you seal them with anything? I tried to seal a slate I'd done and whatever it was I used smeared the paint (which had dried for weeks). Devastated! So moved to modern podge and am considering resin and researching that just now.

    Can you make without heating??
    I will be waiting for your answer 😊...................

    • @TheCharmingGiraffe
      @TheCharmingGiraffe  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely! The heat gun just gets rid of the air bubbles. I love watching them pop. But they'll pop on their own. You can definitely skip this step. 🦒

    Question... can poured coasters be varnished instead of using resin?

    • @TheCharmingGiraffe
      @TheCharmingGiraffe  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe so but I haven't done any testing for the best products to use.

    Will they be ok outside in the weather..? Thanks

    • @TheCharmingGiraffe
      @TheCharmingGiraffe  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They can but that depends on the sealer. I still need to test different sealers for coasters but resin is typically what's recommended

  • @blackirish307
    @blackirish307 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Also did you use white paint as the base first?

  • @ritzv74
    @ritzv74 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How do you seal them?

    • @TheCharmingGiraffe
      @TheCharmingGiraffe  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't yet but resin would be the best option if you were going to use them as coasters. 🦒

  • @blackirish307
    @blackirish307 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Did you use silicone?
