    i have a sea facing balcony with 0 possibility of providing any shelter for the plants , monsoon ravages my plants , often undoing the entire years effort ..i take as many plants as i can indoors but the light quality is low on overcast days - monsoon is quite a challenging time for my plants.

    Great tips 👍👍 I had okra and ridge gourd plants grown with seeds, they were doing fine and suddenly the leaves started to dry and wilt, the okra buds never bloomed and slowly the plant died. I was really disappointed. There was milibug infestation which I tried to control with anti fungal spray and neem oil and garlic and what not. I used to throw vegetable and fruit peels into the pots I don't know if that was the reason for infestation?

    • @GeeksofGreen
      @GeeksofGreen  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Avoid throwing vegetable & fruit peels directly in the pot. It can attract pests and what not. Instead compost them separately and then add the compost to the plant. Mealybugs are always a headache.

    • @GeeksofGreen
      @GeeksofGreen  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Pooja, Please do check out my video on Crotons too. th-cam.com/video/IFp5VvU-F6E/w-d-xo.html
      Most possible problem is overwatring. Crotons are sensitive to overwatering. Water only when the soil is starting to dry out. Dont let it dry out too much. Remember overwatering is more dangerous than underwatering and is the main cause of beginners loosing plants. Also keep away your crotons from direct rains.

    Hello mam...
    I'm actually new to gardening and i had bought some indoor plants which i kept near my house window ,bt there r fruit flies buzzling around the plants.
    Any tips to avoid them?
    Waiting for your reply.....

    • @GeeksofGreen
      @GeeksofGreen  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Pratima, I take red vinegar in a small bowl and add 2 spoons of dish wash liquid to it...foam it up the bubbles trap the flies... As the bubbles die re foam it up.
      You have to be patient with this method but it has always got fruit flies for me.

    • @therealm4944
      @therealm4944 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Answer is perhaps too late, but here it is. The most common and most effective solution is to use Apple cider vinegar instead of red vinegar because they are Fruit flies, and would be more attracted to the apple scent and add dishwashing liquid.
      Method: Put solution in a cup, bowl, container of ur choice, put saran plastic wrap over it, poke small holes with toothpicks so the flies can get in but can't get out. Without the plastic wrap on top as a cover, they can actually fly out. (please google to find out more details.) good luck! :)

    Can indoor plants endure AC ?? Which can do and which can't?

    • @GeeksofGreen
      @GeeksofGreen  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Humidity loving plants won't like the AC. But succulents, cacti and similar plants that like less humidity will do well with the AC. Ensure light is enough though.

    Hi, good info. How to kill the root aphids in indoor plants soil.

    • @GeeksofGreen
      @GeeksofGreen  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks :) You can use neem oil to stop spread of root aphids. I sometimes prefer discarding off the soil in case of an infestation. There are some pesticides too available that can be used which you can research upon online.
