Split tones work best when really loud, it takes a bit of energy for all the notes to speak and clash against each other, but you can have a kind of spectral sound softly.

This seems like a great video, but is there any way that the volume can be increased? And it might be on my end, as well. Thanks for the tip.
normalization would be nice, a straight up volume increase to make his speaking voice more audible would make the saxophone kill your ears.
