  • Executing a smooth and quick Slalom (a.k.a. Cone Weave) is a fundamental Moto Gymkhana pattern that you must master. Pay close attention to how I switch up the technique about half way through the video. There's always more than one way to approach these patterns. Learn and practice them all.

Hi, thanks for making these videos. How far apart are the cones?

You're welcome. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I don't remember the distances exactly but I think it was 12 ft apart.

For slalom, where should you look? Look up and straight a few cones ahead or from side to side? I noticed you don’t move your head left right left right that much. Thanks !

Thanks for the comment. I try to keep my eyes in the middle of the eye sockets and I keep my head pointing up. I keep a relaxed gaze and use lots of peripheral vision. I keep track of the cones that are coming up ahead mostly with my central vision and keep track of the cone right in front of me with my peripheral vision. Great question :)

Are you using throttle to come out of the turn and brakes going in? or are you using a steady speed all the way? do you use clutch?

I am trailing the brakes into the turn and engaging maintenance throttle as soon as I can. Then I roll on the throttle as I exit the turn. I do not use clutch; just throttle and brakes.

Yes, please make another video to explain how to best do slalom as I’m very bad at it. Thanks! I really enjoyed your videos. It’s not only useful for gymkhana but to improve on general riding skills! Thanks!

@@LexcoMotoGymkhana Ramkhana’s video on the slalom is a good reference. Your input on this will be appreciated specially you have 2 bikes with different handling characteristics.

Hi, Kevin. I don’t remember for sure but I think it was about 12-15 feet.
