Factory ordered one of these Z28’s, I was 19, white with the saddle Type LT interior, gold/brown stripes, 4 speed, highly optioned but no A/C. Loved it. Sold it to build our first house in ‘84. So many of us tell that same tale.
It is a pretty car, but definitely not a "survivor" and "all original". Lower grill incorrect, headlight buckets and turn signal buckets were painted too shiny, wheels were painted and color seems off-should be darker, center cap emblem missing. The biggest problem for me is the Computer Command Control system was taken out - all wiring for it under hood gone, check engine light is a "hole" now, and finally the console was hacked - there should NOT be a storage shelf there as that is where the CCC computer is. Yes, I'm old and had these when they were new 😁
I noticed that too. Those wheels would have never left my shop looking like that, and all smog equipment is gone, the fog lights look stupid, and the gas tank and transmission should not be black... Still a hard to find 2nd gen though.

MY DAD R.I.P I-95 South to Miami In his 81 z28 With BAD COMPANY on the Cassette player the smell of Gas and Remembering Watching Smokey and the Bandit and Stopping at all the Motels/Hotels and Spotting all the Beautiful Rigs going up and down I-95 From Reading, PA To Miami, FL I want one so bad all original My dad has this same one but in White with blue stripes same wheels but he repainted the car Burgandy my Mom was so Pissed at Him She also had 2 trans ams

2:55 If your gonna go to all that trouble to repaint, reseal engine, you should have changed those ugly yellow faded windshield and overflow reservoirs too new white ones, that would have looked nice to finish the look off!
Definitely not a survivor. I had a 81 Z28 bought new. The no AC in a car like that is a deal killer. A 1981 car should have Air conditioner. Lot of work done on that car. And no power windows in a 81?? Certainly didn’t come that way to make it lighter for performance. 1981’s had no power. I had a brand new one. Something wrong here. Buyers be careful on this one. Certainly not worth much.
That car 100% been repainted and the wheels were repainted a different color, I love the car and the color 2:37 the inside of fender had none of that shiny new blue paint , the opposite side does have shiny new paint! He thinks it’s a unicorn car! 😂 Hes trying to max his profit out ,,,doesn’t realize their are thousands of car guys that can catch his lies, that front Z28 grill looks brand new replacement, it’s to perfect and bottom grill doesn’t match factory specs! Saying all that I really like the car!
That engine is no longer original once you pull it, rebuild it and paint it all one color like a junk yard would do to make a crappy engine look even crappier.

I have a black on black 1980 with 48 k miles. Was my mom’s.
