For someone who didn't know how to use either program and was simply intimidated by both, Justin you had the most basic, understandable tutorial yet!!! Thank you so so much!! Subscribed 👍🏾👍🏽👍🏼!!!
Thanks for clarifying ! That's why I haven't use my first year subscription yet to light and Photoshop, cause I want know the program first.. very useful!👏👏
Thanks for the clear explanation! Lightroom looks to be really good, but i also can see the plus of Photoshop for an in-depth edit due to the possibility of adjusment layers as one can play with the blending modes to achieve some cool effects.
Thank you for this video. I'm picking up photography as a hobby. Since I had my son I noticed I love photography, love to take pictures of him and his mom on our little outings. This video was exactly what I was looking for thank you soo much. (Earned my Sub)

If you want to work as a graphic designer, you'll need to learn Photoshop as it lets you do a LOT more than just enhancing photos. You will use and NEED (depending on the design task) layers, filters, text, actions, adjustment layers, layer masks, history brush, and many other features. Lightroom would be used more by someone who's hobby or job is more rooted in photography in general, or for editing photos that a graphic designer is to use in his/her design work.
1:06 - You could always set up a script within Photoshop to do a batch of images such like that example. Great video though; you explain the main differences very clearly.
This is glorious, I been tryin to find out about "is lightroom 6 the same as lightroom cc?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Piyamilla Aphonic Prestige - (search on google ) ? It is a good one off product for discovering how to use these lightroom presets to edit your photos minus the normal expense. Ive heard some incredible things about it and my mate got cool results with it.

I was thinking about using Lightroom more because I really haven't grasped photoshop, but I use Bridge and Camera Raw (before PS) and I find that CR does essentially the basics of LR. Thank you for this, it was super helpful.
@@JustinOdisho Yes sorry, it was really fast mention. I Was just expecting some more comparison between the camera raw and light room. I was trying to find it :D but anyway nice video thanks..
Ok guys , This is gonna blow your mind if you never knew this before .......in photoshop CC try (Ctrl+Shift+A) while selecting the layer in which you have the main image..... you are welcome
Let's say I took a picture of a bride and I want to make a monochrome of the picture, but I want the bridge to maintain it's color. Can this only be done with layers in Photoshop or is there also a possibility to achieve this in Lightroom?
I think you've omitted the fact that LR and Photoshop's ACR are in fact very similar (AFAIK, I'm not a LR user!) and I believe have the same engine under the hood. Personally I prefer the idea of Bridge and ACR (both for RAW and JPG photo editing). Reason being, there's no bloated master database, and using sidecar XMP files with RAW in particular means there's very little data to backup whenever you edit. Also I'm not putting all my eggs in one basket!
...and also, copying/syncing settings amongst large number of images using ACR is simple enough, as long as you open them together. (Maybe it's also possible in Bridge?)
idk if I even use photoshop lol I just want to adjust the color and brightness. but idk what im doing yet, so who knows. I thought id never edit pics and now ive spent like 2 days editing random stuff
what I am concerned about is to make three views for designing a car for instance and then make them a reference in 3ds max to make it 3d, then print it using 3d printer, that means translating imagination into reality, so I was wondering how to use Photoshop to draw a three views for anything, is it possible? thanx
Photoshop has some basic 3D type of effects but you’d be better suited to be working in programs like cinema 4d and other modeling programs etc that are meant for multi dimensional modeling
Bro can you PLEASE teach me how to send 2 pictures from adobe Lightroom to photoshop on the same project If u didn’t get it, when u send both photos, and they pop up one on top of the other I can only do them separated that’s frustrating
Thanks, the word compose could surely be used when referring to photography but programs like after effects and photoshop that work with layers could be called compositing softwares because they are made up of several layers. The works created are often called compositions.
So I’m new to everything but Lightroom seems kinda basic, like enhancing photos but I’m wanting add in like sunsets and stuff like that mckinnon guy did with that mountain LOL
So basically lightroom is more for quick editing on the go on occasion like traveling & photoshop is more for detailed and final projects! :)
Yes
should have seen this comment earlier :p
thx
Nope lightroom is also a professional tool. Not a dumb app to use “on the go" lol
yes Photoshop actually does a lot more then Lightroom.

Suprised how little you mention Camera Raw because it fixes all of the negatives you named in Photoshop.
Great explanation of the differences! Thank so much. Ps looks so complicated. LOL! Lr it is.
So can photoshop do exact what lightroom do?
Not exactly
Does PS do everything that light room can do?
The workflow is different but mostly
photoshop is like editing
and lightroom is like color grading
does Lightroom Make the picture go from blurry to clear?
There are sharpening tools but that would be best done in camera
Lightroom is a hybrid of Adobe bridge and Adobe Photoshop

Photoshop has the editing tools for portraits like "healing tool" while Lightroom doesn't. 🤗
