Thanks for the review! I purchased the same one with the 2K, the only problem I have with it, is I only get about 150m away and the FPV starts to flicker out. I also notice that when rotating the quad, I loose FPV signal in one spot, mainly when flying back to me. I am sure it has to do with the antenna placement. Other than that, the UpAir One has worked great for me, especially for the price! Thanks again for the video, good job!

Point to note. I've noticed that if the controller is too close to the drone it tends to lock onto a weaker channel and that rubber door on the bottom is the button to change channels to get to the strongest one manually.

I think it needs a FPV antenna mod mabe a clover or circular polarised built in antennas seem to not have range at all.

I flew my new upair one 2.7k stock 1.5 kilometers yesterday with good fpv could've went a little farther but didn't want to push it I live in flat farmland country but still I was very impressive move your fpv antenna from the inside to the outside it will make a difference

U can fix the interference on the fpv, on the back of the controller lift the black thing and press the button to tune the frequency.

37:23 - yeah, looking for some basic functions in a drone that shoots 10 MP or higher, preferably in RAW or DNG.
I brought one of these. Its in the mail i hope i can have alittle fun with it before i crash it. i say that beczuse i that one and i flew away the first time i flew it.

I have the upair 4K drone and i am having problems with it. It won't take off. It will start up and propellers will spin but it won't lift off of the ground. Help?
would love to see more V-Tail quads, cam on the front and battery at the back. That way you can have a cam which can look up and down without prop/arms in view. Like my rebuilt CX20 X450 or if ya want to get lazy, just buy the DJI Mavic :P
Gimbal pitch PID (P and D) seem too low, can you modify the gimbal's configuration? And it could be that roll doesn't have enough voltage, it seems it's not leveling horizontally :/
is there a way to use 5.8 googles with this or is it a lot of modifications to be done. Thanks in advance
I'm curious if you ever solved the gimble or any newer software. I want a bigger quad, but I just can't bring myself to the dji level. I do want good video however. so that gimble issue was my turn off.
I have the 4K model I had a similar problem with the gimble but I upgraded the FPV transmitter to a Readytosky 600 mW and the problem went away. The FPV transmitter that it comes with is junk. The biggest thing I have a problem with was the battery. I was only able to 10 to 9 minutes of flight time and now its down to 3 to 4. I have had email contact with G10 and they are trying to help but want video of the event. I like your review and want to add that I like mine and I have flown DJI and Walkera's. I would rate up with the Phantom 2 plus or even the Phantom 3 standard and i have been flying for over a year now...its a good drone.

Have same model, seems good. Worst issue is the camera...it shuts down when the battery gets low, just before the return to home mode kicks in and you lose the video on the SD card because the file gets corrupted. Also, have to remove the SD card every time to retrieve vids as the camera is not recognized by my laptop...have tried every type of cable. No problems yet with gimbal, other then being too close to ground on landing...especially in grass.

I got a 4K too. It seems to be a fisheye camera lens unfortunately, but for the price I do still like it.
Gurra so I have the Syma x5c because my friend said I should use it just because it's my first drone and now I'm am deciding on if I should get this or something else. Do you like your upair one and also do you find yourself wanting the follow me feature or not
Yep I still love my upair, but if you decide to buy one, do it from Amazon, you can easily send it back if there is a problem. Since I do mostly motorcycle videos I do want a follow me feature, i´ll get one of those eventually.

Gurra also how is it against wind because where I live it averages 10-15 mph wind everyday and last question is there an auto land/ auto take off feature
anyone know of a prop guard that fits. I don’t have a DJI although I know this can use the same props i assume the angle on the arms wouldn’t allow dji guards to work. I’ve also looked on thingiverse for a print 🤷♂️ I guess maybe i’ll have to design one in Fusion 360 if not 🥺

Hey Dustin . I just did a tx upgrade. Its all working but after its on for a couple minutes. The monitor starts getting fuzzy until I can hardly see the picture. Thinking I might need some heatsinks or something. If I leave the drone on and just turn off the controller for a couple minutes, Its good again for a few minutes. Maybe I need heat sinks on the transmitter in the controller? Can anyone help me with this problem? Thanks

So glad you got this one for review, I was wondering if you would ever review this one. Your experience during the flight test sums it up well. This thing has so much potential and you can't beat the cost for the features, but their QC is terrible. I haven't had any major snafus with the gimbal or with the camera starting and stopping, but lots of guys have. My camera starts recording right at power up though, and the GPS hover is usually all over the place and you only get about 250-meters fpv range. Also, the resolution on the 2K version is only 1080p; you could argue that 1920/1080 technically fits the 2K definition, but who believes that? Folks should know it's straight up 1920/1080. It looks good though. Guys have been modding this thing like crazy too. Nevertheless, I have been able to get some awesome video and pictures from this thing and I now know what I really want out of my next GPS quad. Great review, now I know it 'aint just me.

any update on that gimbal issue? maybe yours was just faulty? because I've seen other vids of this drone and it didn't have that problem. I would like to know if it's a common problem though because it's really a big issue to someone who is trying to get professional looking footage or even just usable footage lol
Do you need to have it connected to satellites to get it to move?
The glitches could be because of your head cam interference with the electronics. I use mine for landscape photography, with no issues.
Looks like it wasnt a gimbal issue but likely the knob that controls the up and down of the camera.
Anyone Know how to change the camera settings on the new 4K version with non-removable camera?I have the Px4 V12.00 Board. Was sent an update but it does not work. Very disappointed that the video settings cannot be changed. Support is poor, drone flies great but 4K only mode sucks. Frame rate to slow in 4K. Only had 3 weeks. I will be sending back If there is not a software patch.

I am considering th Up Air One as a first drone to get into drone filming. How hard is it to remove the stock 2 axis gimbal and install the 3 axis gimbalto this drone? Keep in mind I have no electrical soldering/component repair knowledge. Also, does this drone have a feature to help with auto orientation or is it a complete manual experience in which I would need alot of practice before buying? I don't want to crash it or run it into something or someone because I didn't understand drone orientation.? Please help as I have no drone knowledge, but really want to get into commercial drone business. My budget is small, so I can't afford drones more than $500 but I want a drone to start small and get into real estate, filming, photo,etc. Any suggestions would help from anyone? Thanks

Does this version have the follow me function? I see where it says the wifi FPV version has follow me but not the 5.8GHz FPV version.
I don't think so. It would need image tracking like DJI or a gps from your portable device to track. But I would get the non wifi version for better range in control and fpv if you want that. Wifi will be very limited range to a few hundred feed where the other model would go much further if components are working correctly. Unfortunately in my review of the UpAir i found afterwards that the Gimbal/fpv connector was not plugged in correctly for the review from the factory :(.
@@DustinDunnill wait so the issues of the gimbal and the fpv glitches in this video were caused by the connector not being plugged in properly?
So those aren't really cons then?
Right, but it's not a plug that would have popped out in shipping so apparently was an assembly issue when manufactured.

have had mine for 6 months almost!. haven't had any issues with the gimbal or really any issues with the fpv from time to time i have to use the button in the back of the monitor and on the bottom of the quadcopter to change channels to get a better 5.8 fpv feed...

My friend has one as well and he doesn't have any issues with him either so maybe you just got a faulty unit

+MrComfyAustralia There was honestly no compass calibration info in the manual so I did not. Seemed to not need it as it flew great out of the box.

Just get a phantom 3, definitely worth the extra money!
Love the drone & the price but mine flew away and didn't return. Was totally unresponsive to commands, including return to home. Both fail safes didn't work. Bought another. we'll see.

I got this drone and first off they sent me the wrong one so I returned it and they got me the right one and then on the new one the charger stopped working like a lot of other people and and then the camera would record 30 secs at a time and then restart 5 seconds later so on my sd card I would have like 20 files if I recorded so I just returned it again and just ordered the phantom 3 pro gets here not tomorrow but the next day

+Alan Ybanez Thanks. Link is under video in description where I got mine from. Surprisingly there was no compass cal requirements in the instructions so I did not do one. It seemed fine without it for me.
Wonder how long would the battery works on the transmitter? The reason that I ask is because lets say you have 2 or 3 batteries for the drone and you're flying a long time.
A very fair review Dustin but i have had no problems with the gimbal on mine, maybe as you say you were getting some sort of external electrical interference! I fly an UPair one and have three main batteries for it. I can use up the three main batteries and still have plenty of power left if the TX battery, certainly more than enough for another two or three flights! Hope this answers your question and helps you Larry!

I've seen in other videos that the camera was a kind of firefly 6s or somethin'... however, in yours, the camera seems to be fixed to the gimbal. So are there two kinds of quadcopters or is it just a manufacturing misunderstanding?

I am planning on buying a xk380 over the next month or so, but was wondering what temp is to cold to fly this quad? and i also wanted to add a fpv. would a 5.8ghz cause any interferance with this quad flying ability or preference?
+chipete1 not sure on temp but should be ok to around freezing I think. Yes get 5.8ghz FPV so it does not interfere with the 2.4ghz control frequency.

A few days ago my Xk x-380 went fly away and during my attempts to get it back it fell from the sky from a 100 feet onto a neighbors roof totally destroying it. I could get a new body but the gimble smashed and there is some internal damage as well to fc boards. I'm not sure if i should get another x-380 and set it all up again or i might like something tats already stup? Is it still your choice for a cost effective quad? Or is there anything a little more set up for cost effective quad thats reliable? Thanks for your thoughts.
+David Robinson if you can get an UPair One that works perfectly (some people don't have the issues I had here) I really think this is a great all-in-one option.
Lots of comments about you getting a bad unit. Do you think so. The whole reason for getting this drone would be the gimbal. If the gimbal has issues it kind of defeats the purpose. As always great work Dustin.
