Agree so much, they are all a group that is so genuine in their love of what they do that makes me wish there was more I could do to support them. This cut was so good, starting with Matt and having him think on the idea that this will eventually end and bringing him to tears just shows that the show means as much if not more to them that it does to all of us.
I gotta say...I started crying at that beginning, because I do think about the day when things change. And that includes the day Matt Mercer steps away from D&D...for good. I know that for a vast number of people, that's a day nobody is looking forward to -- including me. But the one thing that is ironically certain in life, that never changes, is that change is inevitable. I just hope that by the time Matt finally gives up his chair, like Kirk and Picard gave up their Captain's chair on the bridge of the respective ships called Enterprise, that Matt has given everything he can, and regrets nothing...that he walks away with no regrets, and is proud of his accomplishments. Because many people may not have realized it, but I think of Matt Mercer as this generation's William Shakespeare: Able to weave together and write incredible stories with the help of his friends. There is something truly unique and special about Matt, and I hope that people truly appreciate the gift that he blesses us with on a weekly basis. Because I do.
Ok I may be a bit late to this amazing tribute. I just have to share how Critical Role came into my life, I lost my grandparents within less then a year of each other and I wasn’t doing the best mentally I was angry all the time and never thought I would find something to help, then I found Critical Role I found Vox Machina and fell in love with the characters because they gave me a sense of friendship. Now I write stories, I write adventures to help cope with the loss. Thank you Critical Role for being my natural 20 in life.
A bunch on wonderful people playing a wonderful game. We are so fortunate in witnessing such a story unfold in real time . Everyone should be so lucky :)
My online D&D games helped me survive being locked down by myself. Roleplaying is such a fun, collaborative event you share with your friends, thanks Critical Role for bringing many more people into this weird, silly hobby.
