Interesting to view. Unfortunately, even with the new additions, I think Croydon is pretty soulless. It was ruined in the post war period with most of the pre-war buildings being knocked down and cheaply built, ugly buildings being put up in their place. The City of London has a pleasing mix of old and new but this doesn't exist here. Even most of the new buildings don't look to be of high architectural quality like those found in Canary Wharf, for example - One Park Drive, Wardian London, Newfoundland, etc.
Thanks for the info mate wasn't aware of that, yeah I can see what you mean, think it's pretty unique in its own way! One thing I like about it though is the space between buildings means you haven't got these clusters blocking the views, definitely a plus while I'm shooting the Drone footage there 🙂 as always mate thanks for watching!
Why is it when the UK has modern cities with skyscrapers everyone always says "it's UglY anD SOuLEsS AnD MoDErN derrr" but no one ever says it about places like Japan which look the same?
@@wanderingmomentzI agree with you - there is something weird, but special about Croydon… especially at this moment in time because it is a mess to a certain extent, but some of the beauty it exudes is top tier. I have worked fod years both in Canary Warf and The City - love them both, but they have matured. Croydon is the rebel that cannot accept it’s already an adult… but it is, so things are different here and we are at a turning point where it will either become “wooden” like CW or have character like “Nine Elms” - it will take some time, but let’s see!!!!!
