My catalytic converter material fell apart on both and clogged my muffler. I delt with Lack of power and bad fuel economy finally decided to do a muffler delete and found a bunch of debris inside it cleaned it and welded it back. My Silverado feels and runs great
My Acura tl type s, only 87k miles, cats shot out into the exhaust, I thought my transmission was going out but on Honda they have a safety mode that’s not limp mode but doesn’t allow ur car to go over 4500 rpm’s. Took me forever to find out since the car didn’t throw any codes
@@LUISTORRES-vx4mg mine would be weird whirling driving and almost give out when coming to a stop, drilled a hole into the exhaust and it started running better, took off the exhaust and drive like new
I have a 1974 Charger that has no cat,or visible signs of damage but when I start the car it runs fine ( or as fine as it can for a 50 year old car with a carburetor can🙄) but as soon as it's warm it starts to bog down to the point that it's undrivable and I'm getting smoke coming from what looks like around the exhaust manifold and it sounds like it's backfiring/exhaust is coming out directly under me when driving,and suggestions?
Do you know if back pressure can cause a carb to spit out gas into the bowl at higher pressure? My needle and seat will stop it but once it needs gas to fill up the bowl it shoots out like the belagio in las vegas.
I noticed my rpm would go upreally quick and also have higher fuel consumption I have a cat delete after it fell apart and it may have clogged the muffler.
And I noticed to that my driver side exhaust it looks like oil drops falling out of it, but not the passenger side exhaust so my theory could be a valve, but I know there’s two different valves, exhaust valve and a manifold valve I am assuming still learning this mechanic stuff…🤦🏽♂️ just trying to get some answers out there🙏

This sounds like my exact problem. Only I have a Mitsubishi. Gets stuck at 4000rpm.
Did it drive like it had a misfire?
@@LUISTORRES-vx4mg yes, should take off the exhaust from the jpipe and if it runs better then you have a clogged exhaust
@@cadetauto1769 I thought it was my fuel pump, the car runs really good but when I’m at a stop or red light, the car starts acting like a misfire

Could that be why the heat goes to the top . The shifter get super hot?

hi so will this blow blue smoke out exhaust as this seems to happen when i change into third gear and car seems to loose power some how
Can a clogged exhaust cause a rich idle?
A clogged exhaust can throw off the 02 sensors which could cause a rich condition.
@@whyingo7964 I don't have an O2 sensor or a ECM. Can a clogged CAT cause a rich idle in this application?
