Brock Purdy is the first quarterback in NFL history. That's not allowed to have a bad game, bad half, bad quarter or even throw one bad pass. He's also not allowed to have good teammates. It's also his fault when kickers Miss kicks & the defense can't get a stop. The way guys like Colin, Rob & Nick Wright constantly move the goal post on Purdy is insane.

Way off about Warner. He was in the NFL as an Undrafted Free Agent, then went to the Arena League, then the World League, then the Rams as a backup before Trent Green had a season ending injury. Warner also came into a loaded offense. Warner is a superior passer.

When the throwing window started to get smaller, fugazi cherub started to throw picks, technically he threw 3, one was negated by a penalty. The 3 TDs one was a toss, the other one was a checkdown to the fullback who fought for the td, none of them were difficult throws.
Purdy is a top 10 QB in the league. That's all you want as a franchise. He's shown he can easily take you to the Super Bowl. He's played at an elite level when the players weren't there.
I said this last season when people were saying he was the MVP. Remember Jimmy G went to the SB with a less talented 49ers team. Just like Jimmy, Brock was the reason they lost the super bowl. $50 million/year is about right. Brock has some physical limitations and I think he knows it. There are just some things he just can't do, especially the throws. Having said that, he's the perfect game manager for the 49ers.

Rob, Kurt had maybe the best offensive help ever, may be the fastest... When he went to the Giants remember what happened. Also, if you don't want to use draft position, don't use it for Lawrence to support the contract. Not saying he deserves the biggest contract, but don't just discredit what the impact of all the injuries have done. The biggest issue is the age of the roster and large contracts it would kill the team at 50-60 million. A Baker type deal would be more in line.

Since next year is the last year on his deal (and typically you'll sign an extension the off-season before the final year on year deal in these situations) Purdy's contract is the current topic of debate. I agree that Stroud has struggled this year and deserves some criticism for that. Next year when Stroud is in year 3 this will be a big topic. If Stroud bounced back it probably won't be much of a debate, but if not it will be. Both Stroud and Purdy have had injuries to their WR core this year. Purdy has been slightly better, but not by a significant amount.

I said this last season when people were saying he was the MVP. Remember Jimmy G went to the SB with a less talented 49ers team. Just like Jimmy, Brock was the reason they lost the super bowl. There was a key throw that he missed which gave Pat the ball back and he scored I think it was to tie the game. I would wait if I were them. They have nothing to lose if they do. $50 million/year is about right. Brock has some physical limitations and I think he knows it. There are just some things he just can't do, especially the throws. Having said that, he's the perfect game manager for the 49ers.

Rob, Kurt had maybe the best offensive help ever, may be the fastest... When he went to the Giants remember what happened. Also, if you don't want to use draft position, don't use it for Lawrence to support the contract. Not saying he deserves the biggest contract, but don't just discredit what the impact of all the injuries have done. The biggest issue is the age of the roster and large contracts it would kill the team at 50-60 million. A Baker type deal would be more in line.

@Jordyrugby It's his 3rd year, and that's what matters because his contract is one year ahead of Stroud meaning Purdy's contract will expire 1 year before Stroud. Since next year is the last year on his deal (and typically you'll sign an extension the off-season before the final year on year deal in these situations) Purdy's contract is the current topic of debate. I agree that Stroud has struggled this year and deserves some criticism for that. Next year when Stroud is in year 3 this will be a big topic. If Stroud bounced back it probably won't be much of a debate, but if not it will be. Both Stroud and Purdy have had injuries to their WR core this year. Purdy has been slightly better, but not by a significant amount.
