(I always thought that sound was the rear axle because the loud humming sound was always loudest when I rode in the back of the bus). For like a couple months in 2020 I thought it was the transmission for some reason.
I grew up riding RE's with the T444E. This sure does bring back memories. Love it.

I once rode a Blue Bird 3800 with the T444E as a spare mostly in high school. The last time I saw it was in 2018, and I doubt it's still out there.

The rear axle. It’s normal usually for rear axles to hum on school buses and trucks.
