- Class 55 Deltic no. D9009 (55009) 'Alycidon' working Pathfinder Tours "The Capital Deltic Reprise" railtour. Seen inbound through Welham Green working 1Z20 Willington to Kings Cross, empty through Harringay on 5Z21 Kings Cross to Ferme Park Sdgs, and Finsbury Park on 5Z22 back to Kings Cross, then finally outbound again through Finsbury Park with 1Z22 Kings Cross to Cleethorpes. On the rear for turning moves was West Coast Railways Class 47 no. 47826.

That machine is a credit to all involved in its maintenance and operation.surely it never looked better even ‘mint from the shops’ over 60 years ago.

All the effort that goes into making 009 (and other heritage traction) as authentic looking as possible and then they fill the cabs with orange jackets, it spoils the look and a good photo. While in the cab of heritage traction all orange jackets should be removed until exiting the loco! 😉

Alycidon departed Kings Cross running two engines, it is believed an engine was shut down near New Southgate as a precaution due to a suspected governor problem. Fitters were riding with Alycidon to monitor the condition of the locomotive
Shame it ended up on one engine later on and rhe 47 had to assist but great to see stilll

finsbury park the deltics was based there in rhe 1960s at Finsbury park T.M.D back in the better days.🥰🤩😍
Love Deltic locomotion with a Brush Led Diesel ❤️Fab video ,Dislike the modern day garbage operating that almost spoilt it .Respect to these Locomotives that after 60 odd years are icons of the rails and best of british Engineering ❤❤❤❤

No they are locomotives of their own, but all share the similar nose-end style

So Alycidon is running on one engine? I have never seen a Deltic blow so much smoke and is being pushed by a 47. This does not help the many loco owners that want to get there locos running on the the main lines. Alycinon should have not run on the day. Its a shame.
