@@josephcereno6813 a few things quickly come to mind. Forced overtime due to short staffing. working short staffed 3/4 my rotation along with not being able to provide proper care due to this. The stress and anxiety that comes with that. Not to mention often no time for breaks either to eat or go to the bathroom. Some people thrive off that. I don’t want to live that way. I see good nurses filled with compassion and love being taken advantage and burning out constantly.
just turned 34 years old 2 days ago starting my electrical journey as an apprentice this friday and i agree with you. pay is not so good but I'm there to learn and progress as much as i can. and the best part is manager mentioned if I'm a good a apprentice he will renegotiate my salary =D
Awesome, I got back in at 30 leveled up within 2 years on my own. Now going on 17 years 2 locations and the podcast and channel! Anything is possible if you plan and 🙏!

Crazy to think i found you on instagram and you almost offered me a position in Missoula! Just moved from Bozeman, MT to Reno, NV 7 months ago. After talking with you on social media I worked my butt off applying for residential companies. I start my apprenticeship in two weeks with the best residential company in town!! woot woot!! I've been watching all your videos to make sure I'm the best apprentice they've ever had.
Actually it does. Able to take pride in a profession that you can go teach to the guys under me. On the way to Electrical Contractor and work with solar panels. I see where this can take me in life. Very educational content. I appreciate you.

31 years old, spent the last 10 months studying to become an electrician. Starting apprenticeship next week, and i'm terrified to mess up. Low self esteem, and never done anything practical. But i'm super eager to learn, I just pray for the best right now and hope I wont be seen as a "burden" by others due to low skills. Edit: Selfreflection, the school I went studying this for kinda rushed the courses I feel like, and thats probably where my feeling of low selfesteem comes from, like I didn't learn all too much from it only the "surface" of almost everything so my mind is all over the place or something..

Cost of living is a lot more on apprentices nowadays then it was on you when you were an apprentice 20 years ago. So yea wages matter more than ever, if you’re unwilling to compensate your apprentices and pay a living wage then you don’t deserve them.
Agree with most of what you said but which part said anything about not compensating fairly? No intitlments here my friend. Life is hard as an apprentice or a hamburger flipper. Both get paid crapy in my opinion. They are entry jobs. The market dictates your true worth, guys like me make sure you level up your worth as fast as possible. If you find yourself in a position with no up side....RUN! Work hard as hell for someone that has your best interest, pay comes with experience.

A new home 20 years ago was cheap but people still couldn't afford it. Educate yourself, make yourself valuable and trust me you will get paid what you deserve, and if not don't work there. The only people that need to worry are those who think they are intitled, everyone else will always be employed.
It seems rediculous to write someone off for simply asking about pay. Most people cant just ignore their present needs to avoid looking like an opportunist. I guess it makes sense if the person is clearly only applying because they think its easy money.
I’ve been thinking about becoming an electrician lately so I’m not stuck in cold warehouses the rest of my life but I’m not smart with math and just to pass the aptitude test I need to know algebra and stuff. Trying not to get discouraged
@@The360Electrician Pennsylvania. I’m from Ephrata and I think there’s one in Lancaster, Reading, and Philly. My friend suggests going for Philly cause they pay the most but I’m not starting anything until I get a grasp on math, and with my work schedule it’s hard to find time to study
Im sick and tired of my office job. I perform all of these laws. And i never got the recognition i deserved and everyone else took my credit. For 10 years i sufffered bullying and sexual harrasement (im a male) and 2 weeks ago was the final straw. Im going to my local IBEW to apply for an internship, hopefully its true that i will be accepted.

I did mainly circuit based electrical work and more maintenance on radio equipment. I live in California what do you recommend I do if I want to further my career in the electrical field?
You mentioned a few times that you "went back into the trades at 32 years old". What did you do prior to going back in? What was your trade experience did you have from before your return? It doesn't sound as if you were starting from scratch when you returned.
I got my degree in electrical construction and maintenance from LATTC in 1992, worked in electrical for 2 years after that then into my other 2 business till I opened 360. Check out Missoula Podcast, I have my story there.
Hello 360 electrician i enjoyed the videos you posted i have been writing the laws to understand they ways of electrician the question inhave for you is more of a sight of fear. I didnt have a great childhood growing up. Moved to alot of school as i was growing up and im 30 going 31 now and my fears is that if applying to Apprenticeship program i feel mentally I won't make it. Math changes alot i love hands on working and work hard for jobs inworked for i been through medical field but now a days jumping from job to job cant be stable consistent. I want to have a career where i can learn adapt get better keep stay in a trade where i can show mybhard work pays offf. How can i mentally prepare for this trade if mentally not incline enough like math wise or the fact since i been in so many school when inwas younger if feel and fear that my brain cant hold knowledgeable fact trying to remember and repeat process etc. What your advise?
You can always start at trade school and see how you do. Go from there. Everyone can't be anything they want, just like anything else it takes hard worlk. Let us know how it goes.
Trying to get an apprenticeship at 20 or 21 but don't have a car so it sucks feeling like a loser and behind in life. I just have to suck up my pride and work some shitty retail job so I can save up money to get a car. Then straight to apprenticeship so I can feel better and take care of myself
Get a bike. As in a bicycle. Easy enough to ride 5-6 miles to a job. Get an EV bike and you can go 10-11 each way. You'll have more options for the starter job. If your situation is right, you may even be able to start the apprenciship with the bike and earn the money you need for a truck. Just make sure you are up front with your boss so they know your limitations.
@@GeoFry3 But what job would you be talking about, just any electrician company that offers an apprenticeship, or something like ibew? Because any union thing is in Tampa Fl and that would take hours for me on a bike
@DHGxMcFlurry If you are just trying to find any job, a bicycle will give you more options without eating up your paycheck. Where are you located? You may not be able to find an ELEC job nearby, but there are more than a few commercial HVAC and controls companies that would hire you for installation work. I worked for CSSI in the past. Usually, they give you a truck if you get hired, but you would need some sort of transportation arrangement for the first couple of weeks.
I love this profession and I hope to become a professional one day, but I have a question: Does this profession require me to be tall because I am short😢
Speaking as a guy who is 6 foot five as an electrical apprentice - our most valuable guy is the guy who is 5 foot six. He is, fast, can get into all the small nooks and crannies that I can’t fit into, has a very strong strength to weight ratio and so can do crazy shit that needs to get done. Couple weeks ago I seen him hanging upside down above a drywall ceiling using unit strut to bridge some purlins so that he could get a piece of pipe over where it needed to go. Absent him doing that we would’ve had to cut away another section of the existing ceiling in the room that we were working in. He also fits great into equipment like switch gears, and standby diesel generators where space is very tight.

We've all been there brother. Take online classes till you get in the field. You'll be ahead of the game!
