Very good idea. I've always hated spraying the gravel driveway, but keeping it free of weeds is a full-time job. This'll be one more thing to add to my to-do list!

      I use it often.

Excellent idea. You could do that every other week, just keeping the soil loose and there goes the weeds.

Thats the master plan. Like every two weeks. Cuts a nice clean edge too!

Absolutely genious idea, I can see using this in my potato/carrot/onion patch in spring before hilling up the rows and planting as well, to get the early weeds without using chemicals! Best of wishes from Norway, I will be making one of these come April!

And just like that no more weeds or potholes. Great idea. Way better than boxblade

      @markellyfarm  ปีที่แล้ว +2

Yup, the box blade would drag the weeds around and make a mess. Love this thing so far.

Nice. Sort of like a single-blade land plane, but really shines as a cutter. Nifty tool.

Brilliant! Box blade= too much, land scape rake= too much pulling sand. This is just right. A Hula Hoe for a three point hitch. Better run for a Patent!

You can have the patent. Im good. Lol

OMG, I've been toying with the idea of building something along these lines - either as an attachment to my box blade or buying a 2000 dollar land plane - same idea - a sharp blade fairly horizontal that cuts the roots - we have really bad weeds here in AZ. This design is genius, way simpler/better than what I was thinking. Wanna sell it? 😁j/k. I'm definitely stealing the design!

Steal away! Works perfectly. I just have to drag the driveway when im done. Only because of my OCD though! Lol

Will this cut a path through the grass or does it kind of float on top. I use a boxblade but the tall grass gets stuck on the rippers. I want to be able to cut the roots on grass and then rake it to the side.

If you angle it right, it goes through like a sod cutter. I do it when the weeds aren't very thick. They just dry up.

  • @Lorenzo7342

Hi would that attachment work for sod removal?

      I don't know why it wouldn't.

What is that device you have sitting in your quick hitch that has the clamps that holds the square tube? or is that also something you made as well?
I am looking for something just like this. I want to go through a field and use it like a hoe and just slice off the weeds just under the surface. Using a tiller is too aggressive. Thinking maybe a harrow might work, but this blade option just seems to my beginner form of thinking to be the better answer.

It's called an a-frame. Very easily made if you do any welding. Most old farms have them lying around. I just bought another one at auction. Sometimes, the tool bar will come with it. It's just a square shaft or tubing. They aren't used much anymore. It's a really great tool.

    I have a seashell driveway
Weeds just ruin the look . I’ve tried organic herbicides and hand pulled but the weeds come back

    • @markellyfarm

They can be really stubborn for sure. Sea shell sounds really cool. Maybe try a propane weed torch?

I don't, sorry. Just build stuff to use around our place.

@@markellyfarm you should patent this and sell it. It looks like a great tool

No, no, no. You were supposed to spend $1800 on a box blade.
