Okay question so do I need the base of seafarers and then the expansion for that specific version or can I do the main red catan and do a different expansion like seafarers with it?

The "main red catan" is the Base Game. You can not use the expansion without that specific main box.

i have bought the seafareres jubileum version (with the legends of the sea robbers in it) and they didnt even gave an insert for it! :/ only plastic bags...for an anniversary edition....
