I've listened to this maybe 15 times already... today. I just love the piano, and the combined voice-trumpet-thing. And her smile at the end. And the enthusiasm of the guys behind the piano. Maybe just one more time :)
the music is different and VERY interesting ... it is great, that someone can introduce new ideas. This makes me happy ... the way to sing is absolutely cute ;)
Now, most importantly - glad you liked this, and her way to convey beauty through Finnish. What I especially like in music, is that it's a good way to connect people over cultural bourders, it creates bridges better than let's say sports. Though I like sports too :) Listen Paradiset by Bo Kasper's Orkester - a translation to swedish from a finnish love song. (Well, a summer romance only - I like more consistent love - but a good song anyway). & thanx Sweden for Thomas Ledin & your folksingers.
When I've browsed through youtube m´now for 3 or 4 years, usually foreigners mention they like the sound of finnish. Well some haters are, mostly then commenting it sounds funny. Usually it's swedes who mention it sounds rough :) Might be that most of the swedish comments mention it this way. Some likers too.
haha, you're right! She sings Finnish and I know only 'tervetuola' and 'perse' but it sounds great. I heard also some sounds in this song which have meaning in Czech or Croatian - Laske ku mene - come here, my love. ( I suppose) However I like very much this song. Thanks for some information
@STRIDSPILOT The Finnish language has pretty much more vowels in every day speech then any other. Most finns speak pretty softly and it has lots of pleasant rolled r's. Don't understand what you mean at all, I've never heard anyone say anything of the sort, in fact, quite the opposite. Swedish has always sounded rougher to me, but at least they are not Danish :)
@Ailuulit Not at all arrogant, just honest. To non-fins the finnish language is known as vulgar and rough. To make that into this is nothing short of genious...
the thing is, im swedish and to us the finnish language sounds more a kid cursing dispite his add-like addiction to vocals ^^ so no, what i ment with my comment was that its fantastic of Regina to make a song in finnish sound beautiful. and that song you linked to, since i dont understand finnish it sounded like any random popsong from eurovision 1992. im sorry.
I wouldn't wonder if swedes have this pic of finnish, cos the spoken finnish you are likely to hear in sweden is usually spoken by drunkards, and earlier also hoodlums and criminals. I know how how 'beautifully' they use the language :) They like cursing, like you mentioned finnish sounding to (many) swedes like a child cursing. Finnish has lots of vowels, that makes it melodious 6 emotional: express your emotions through them. Consonants are more like the rational part of a language.
@Ailuulit I think that you now experience somewhat of a glitch between the language barriers and its completely understandable since the fins dont really see english as their second or even third language, something that we in sweden have done for over 5 decades now. What you see as an insult is only common sense, ask anyone from any other country and you will get this answer... if you were a travelling soul you would know this. but like i said, its nobodys fault. its probably pride, right?
@STRIDSPILOT If you want to hear some Finnish singing that really won't conform to your expectations, try looking up the song 'Valo tihkuu kaiken läpi' by Paavoharju or try some Eleanoora Rosenholm or Scandinavian Music Group for more pretty singing.
ahaa.. jotenkin ristiriitaiselta kuullostaa kuitenkin. jos esimerkiksi tykkäisin jostain vaatteesta, vaikka en laittaisi sitä päälleni, olisi se silti minun makuuni ,, muttei ehkä sopisi tyyliini kiitos kuitenkin selvennyksestä
i know but i was saying they were trying to take my video down, which i didn't even have monetized. bc they said it was this groups song.. which it was not at all Marshall Lee

I want this as an instrumental...

kiitos kuitenkin selvennyksestä
What does: Olen aika lopussa means?
really... i put a live vid of the browning up and i got a dispute about this.. what in the actual fuck? this sounds nothing like the browning...
TEDtheNINJA But you can like both. Funnily, weirdly... for a finnish metalhead I've always had a thing for this experimental alternative also.
i know but i was saying they were trying to take my video down, which i didn't even have monetized. bc they said it was this groups song.. which it was not at all Marshall Lee
That's weird.
miten voi kuulostaa kivalta josset kuitenkaan tykkää?
Kiitti
Amazing song in a very difficult language to make interresting.
this remix by Mogwai is equally fabolous:
@N00RA96 Onneks olkoon vastasit vuoden vanhaan kommenttiin.
