That's absolutely true! The way you explain is crystal clear ... just like your voice! :) And I love that there are practical exercises to put to use! (not like on some other channels where as an exercise they show you some already mastered skill and just say - "repeat this" and I'm like ... WTH!?)
Most songs are doable for most ranges, singers don't sing unsingable songs. The issue tends to occur, as the lady suggested, when you're trying to go too fast, trying to get too many words out, tgsts the bit that takes practice. I slow the playback speed of almost all songs. Pitch is often off when you're not engaging thought and mouth movement with your voice, ie you need to practice it all, tongue twisters and speed up those, as suggested here, you haven't got a problem with the note, hearing it, hitting it, or your pitch, you have more likely got a problem with the change , doing it too fast and sometimes too slow. Keep going on scales and words until you can speed them both up
#2 for sure. I know I can hear pitch but can't quite bring it into singing actual words. When just singing a note and doing warm-ups, I'm in pitch, but something happens when I start to sing a song. I have an inkling it's because I get too in my head, whereas during the warm ups I'm just listening and aware of my breathing. Edit: Finished the video. This seems to happen with me regardless of the level of difficulty.. even with "Happy Birthday". I think it's because I am focusing on the lyrics in my head rather than listening to the note in my head. Idk... hopefully something clicks soon! Been trying for 8 years and keep thinking maybe I'm just incapable of getting anybetter and I just have to embrace being someone who enjoys singing but never sings in key. Lol. Too stubborn though.
What I find that helps, is to first make sure you are not tense at all. Nice loosey goosey (especially under your chin, this area should not be tense at all-put your thumb under there to feel as you sing). Then, hear the song you are trying to sing in your head, and then match what you are hearing with your imagination. (It also helps to sing along with someone else singing it a few times before attempting it on your own.) Pay really close attention on how they are pronouncing their vowels and consonants. Try and mimick it. (You can later mess around with your own version.) Another exercise that really helps you to get up into a strong head voice, is to sing your song saying GEE GEE GEE instead of the words (you will feel it in between your eyes and nose). Then, try singing the words right afterwards. Hope that helps.
2 was so obvious, I am very good at matching pitch so being tone deaf isn't the problem, but more of straining my voice when I try to sing high notes sometimes. We had several boys in choir this last year, around 15 or more, (they were bass and tenners) 4 - 5 altos, and 3 sopranos. I was soprano so singing loud with high notes all year for gospel type songs, really messed with the throat and how I sing for pop songs. So like is there a way to fix this maybe? I don't even fully understand what my problem is...
It kind of depends on which sort of speakers you are listening to. In my cheap speakers only the #1 is really in tune. The problem with the number 2 is that it gradually matches the pitch. It ends on pitch. Number 3 is also out of tune to my ears.
Assuming, you are not tone deaf, I think you thought she was still singing at the end. She decrescendos and pauses between each pitch. Her voice never matched on #2, she stopped singing and the note was the only thing playing. #3 is for sure on pitch but you may have some issues with your hearing in general (maybe tinnitus or tinnitus adjacent?). It makes pitches distorted for the hearer and there’s an after pitch ring.
2nd pitch was definitely almost a whole tone off. 1st and third pitch is just ever so slightly not matching due to sound quality, different speakers and maybe using a piano app...
its 2 and im not tone deaf and my ear is kinda trained cause when im making a song to find the key i sing the note to a tuner and i do get the key of the song but it is a bit flat or a bit sharp i want to know a way to be more close to the exact key not necessarily on 0 but closer
I ve gained more wid you , but one thing i wanna tell you , tht i love your way of speaking and your facial expressions 🌹😌😉 . Love you ! Keep Teaching us !
#2 was close to a half-step sharp. It is hard for trained singers to off key (it actually gives me a sore throat quite quickly). Your "off" note was sung so well that I wonder if you were listening to the higher note while playing the lower note for us?
I know nothing to music. i felt something was off about #2, but i got a little bit confused by how it almost sounded different yet harmonious (as a natural progression of the initial #2 sound)
Interesting video! It would have helped me a lot when I couldn't sing on pitch some time ago, but I can share the video anyways :). I still have pitch problems when I try singing songs that are too high for me though XD.
Hi Foru, Thanks for the feedback and sharing your progress with working on your pitch! It is inspiring for everyone who experience it. Going for high notes is definitely also one of those moments where a lot of people experience pitchiness. And thanks so much for sharing the video. I really appreciate the support :)

It just seems to be blocked because of too much of ya know(the stuff we always have in our ears)probably from excessive cleaning. Sorry if it's too much info.
I'm always slightly off pitch. When the external sound goes constantly up, I initially hear it going down and then, finally up. So, my singing is quite a mess. Recording myself, autotuning and listening to my own, autotuned voice helps. Lots of effort, but I like singing.
Years ago I went to a rally and cheered loudly. Next day I lost my voice for a couple days. My throat has been painful ever since when I try to sing. I was only just a recreational singer, but I was fairly good and enjoyed it. Now I try to sing and soon my throat is to painful. And, of course, I can't hold a note well--just all sorts of problems. Takes the fun out of singing. Surely there is some remedy for this, right?
Okay but when a singer don't have any music in the background and then they sing how do we know they are off pitch? Because we compare the pitch of the voice too the pitch of the music being played right?
