I’m 22 and bought a 2016 BMW about 6 months ago and I can’t wait to change it for one of these Lexus’ simply for the reliability alone. The looks and the premium feel is just a bonus
@@CarsofGlasgow its a 118d m sport auto. Really nice car just ruined by the shadow that is poor general reliability as they age and the dreaded dpf ofc.
I own a 2014 Lexus IS300H Premium and have driven 160,000 miles in it. The only thing to have gone wrong in all this time is the fake engine noise sent into the car stopped working. Apart from that I have not had a single issue. A truly incredible vehicle. Without doubt the best car I have ever owned
Brilliant cars. Such a complete package. I had one for three years and loved it. I just changed to a GS300h which is majestic. I’d have kept the IS if it wasn’t for the fact I was struggling with the space on long journeys.
They are awesome, Lexus in general are. We have the CT, x2 IS and an RX coming. I haven't driven the GS yet, only the ES (another video on my channel). How did you find the change from IS to GS?
@@CarsofGlasgow The GS feels more stately, limo like and less sporty than the IS. Refinement is fantastic. The 300h powertrain is quieter than in the IS and it still has a surprising amount of performance, somewhat at odds with what the press say.
@@Shane-zx4ps oh I see! Have you tried having the headlights on 'auto'. If you have them on auto that should allow the lights to illuminate upon unlocking :)
£10 a year road tax? I think you’ll find that’s incorrect, yours is a 19 plate so you’re at least going to pay £135 per year. Pre April 17 models are £10 a year road tax.
What's the range on electric only? What are the separate and combined HP figures of the engine and the electric motor? How big is the engine? Did I miss these stats in the video? How would you compare this to, say, a BMW 330e?
I don't know electric only range and I couldn't find any concrete data for that. Power for the 2019 model is 220bhp combined, 2.5l 4 cyl. If you watch my ES300h video I go more indepth with data. Not driven the 330e, driven plenty of diesel 3ers. 3 series drives sharper but lexus is quite and comfy...
The electric motor only really kicks in when there's minimal load on the engine. On a flat road at a constant 30 to 40 mph you might get a couple of miles but as soon as you need any a power the petrol engine will kick in. I've had mine since last December and it's averaging just over 46 mpg. I had a series of diesel's from 2001. The last a 2014 Mercedes C220 AMG Line. No end of problems with that and it was so noisy. Engine sounded like a tractor. That averaged 48 mpg. I love how smooth, quiet and relaxed the Lexus IS is. To be honest it's a revelation.
@@CarsofGlasgow OK, but most premium models i have seen have the mark levinson, may be they got it as an option. btw whats the standard sound system one like?
CarsofGlasgow dam strange, i get the road tax reminder letter every year for two now, never asked me for payment when i do it online🤔 maybe its my emissions for this model is under .99 or something to do with that🙃
@@OxyMoka What trim is yours? I think the bigger alloy wheels can push the CO2 g/km up to next bracket :( I know the CT200h varies on CO2 between the tiny 15" wheels and the 18" on F Sport

I love the tri beam headlights
Hi I watch all you videos and I drive a is300h and was wonder how to operate the coming home headlights

CarsofGlasgow it’s when I’m locking up and the headlights to stay on for a few seconds, or when I unlock the car with the remote the lights to come on

I need a quick answer pls. Is there any difference in driving, gearbox between this version from 2019 and the older one in 2014?
I don't think so as both IS 300h models use a CVT. However I did find the 2019 model slightly quieter, so perhaps a remap or they added insulation.
What's the Dolby sound system like ? Is there good bass ?
It isn't too bad, however I have the Mark Levinson in my IS 250 and you can tell the difference..
If you can get the upgrade I would :)

You must have the 16" wheels which take the emissions below .99 so it is tax free.
