Wow! This is actually one of the best value bikes I've seen in years. It looks like a good base for the entry level rider that can be upgraded to be a great club ride bike. Price is good but I would like to see it a couple hundred dollars lower. Aside from the chainguard it seems like a no nonsense bike. I think this shows you are listening to your viewers and responding.
I remember another youtuber reviewed the 3.0, and it was around the same weight, so I suppose it’s either a testament to how light aluminum bikes can be made, or perhaps the 4.0 is weighed down by heavy parts to offset the full carbon frame and fork
Was interested in a hybrid, when I bought my xxl sirrus 4.0, never thinking I would get so heavy into cycling. After quickly getting addicted to road-type cycling I was able to do a full shimano 105 / drop bar conversion and now have a formidable road bike for any average rider. I can keep up with most so-called 'super bikes' on the group rides.
thinking about picking up a Specialized as a commuter bike and i think this may be it. its on sale for 1k right now but i'm still researching because there's so many options :d
Missing my sirrus x 4.0. Sold it last may to get the sl7 tarmac sadly until now I haven't got a tarmac and no bike ended up Using my Walmart bike, pretty heavy good thing it has a Spiderman paint job🤣
Thanks for the review, do you think the tradeoff of this model not having FS (but has carbon fiber frame) is worthed vs the 2023 model that has FS, but it's aluminum alloy and carbon fiber?
I have this bike since March 2021. Excellent! I made some modifications and plan to do further ones. I replaced RD with Deore XT 11sp, shifter with XTR, cassette SLX 11-42, and I want to replace the crank with GRX 810-2 48-31. The question is will I need to replace BB? Also I am replacing the seatpost with Specialized CG-R, and wheels with DT Swiss G1600. I am 194cm with 100kg, so I need all the help on the mountains :)
So I purchased the Sirrus X Comp bout a year ago and I love it, I really would like to make it a roadie and I’m already investing on the Ultegra 8020 group set, but I took my bike to the local shop where they told me that this frame is not designed to be a drop bars and take that group set, I’ve been looking for more opinions so if you respond that this conversion is possible I will definitely do it, thanks in advance. Keep up the great work!
if your main idea is to go on gravel or dirt or even if your going to be using it 50/50 for gravel I would go the X model because u get so much more versatileness out of it
I have one. Love it. I average around 30 miles per ride. Very comfortable stock. But I did add the redshift stem, redshift seatpost and Ergon gp4 grips for added comfort.
Dude seriously I ride a Quick 4 with a 9 speed Alivio group set. I easily go around 15 miles all day long. Reason that I don't go faster is that I am really into spinning. Mainly a super effective way to battle high blood pressure. If you don't ride much, I will easily drop you on a heavier bike with mountain bike drivetrain. Personally think the Sirrus 4.0 is an excellent value. Remember that Ultegra groupset from 10 years ago was a 2 by 10 set up. The same as a Tiagra today. As I recall those carbon bikes were extremely fast.
@@GCPerformance18 in Philippines this is a famous set up, an mtb hardtail frame, a rigid fork, and 700cc wheels with flat bars.. they race them in roads and also do bike packings.. have you ever come a cross a bike like this? Ive only seen a few a bike like this, like the Focus Raven Max Rigid and the Orbea Alma Rigid
Thanks for this video, I just bought this bike two months ago. Question - Do you find that the front wheel seems misaligned/slanted when the stem is straight in that dove tail area?
Picked one up yesterday. Love it except for when cruising at around 16 mph and I feel a bit of cross chaining when on the large chainring and probably 3 from the highest in back. Feel like a bit of a hamster on one lower gear at those speeds but buttery smooth with a more ideal chain alignment.
@@scottsellsFL Not sure that's the proper term but it's when it feels like the chain's side plates are rubbing the sprocket teeth due to the chain being at too much of an angle in certain gears. I'm not talking about being on large front/larger rear or small front/small rear....aka crosschaining. I'm talking large front and 3 or 4 of the smallest rear gears. I think it gets better with time as the parts mate. My typical weekday rides average 30 miles with longer rides on Sundays. I like the bike but I'm gonna pickup a Crossroads also cause it does get painful after a while and i love going real far.
I've had mine about 5 weeks now and I experienced the same thing, which surprised me as I thought cross chaining on a 2x wouldn't happen...The second time I rode it I didn't feel it as much, so maybe the gears needed to be worked in...
@@andreblanchette9151 I've got 800 miles on mine now and it's hasn't gotten any better. Feels very inefficient with all that rubbing. My Crossroads with a single front chainring doesn't do it. Gonna try adjusting the rear derailleur to see if it helps cause it does occasionally jump out of the highest gears when going downhill. Just been too lazy to mess with it.
@@Gravitationalist Hi, since you have had time with both the Sirrus and Crossroads, which would you ride if doing a 50 mile ride? Just wondering as 50 mi rides is what I do and I am seeking to get a new bike (flat bar). Seeking comfort and speed. Appreciate any input on the two bikes with regards to high mile rides.
@@Steven_Falcon I would pick the Sirrus over the Crossroads. I got rid of the Crossroads because I got it wrong thinking the more upright you are, the more comfortable. That's true for short rides but after hours in the saddle there is just too much pressure from the seat. I don't even ride the Sirrus anymore as I got a Cannondale Topstone 3 gravel bile and it easily beats them both in terms of comfort. The Topstone is also way more comfortable then the Diverge I also had. It's all about evening out your weight between the seat and handlebars and not going to big. I'm 5' 9.5" and the small Topstone fits like a dream even though the dealer told me it would be too small. Anything bigger and I felt stretched out and strain on my forearms. One thing I learning going through 4 bikes before I found something that really works is that sitting on a bike at a dealer or riding it around the parking lot, isn't a good test. I takes at least 3 or 4 hours or even days before you realize that something is too big for you. It gives those tiny, tiny discomforts time to grow into something very noticeable.
That’s the 4.0 Sirrus X you’re describing… they’re all 1x’s. They also have significantly slower top end. I want the bigger ring you only get with the non-X 2x models. You can still put 38mm tires on it and do all the gravel you want.
It dosen't hit all the check marks,,, most folks who rack up the bike miles on all round bikes don't buy units with tall frame bars... there very unfriendly too ride off road on the trails if a person has too dismount... Go ahead and buy one if yha like,,, bet 10 to 1 a person will be disappointed over all,,, We never buy bikes with mineral oil brakes since there sluggish in cold temperatures... once a person runs the micro shift they will find out there junk... Just saying... log on the miles too only find out that the Cambodia carbon frame bike sucks,,, thats the worse country too have carbon fiber products produced... They can't glue two sticks together little lone build a quality frame... Just imagine all the filler used too fill in all the imperfections... Junk junk junk...
if you are interested in a hybrid this bike checks all the boxes, very light agile and gives back everything you put into it

Need more of these vids!
Hell, if you made a video about a 200$ walmart bike Id still watch it

The 3.0 has the A1 premium aluminum so it will be super light .also it does have better components than this
@@Hernsama components are practically the same

lmao
Did you do the whole vid without mentioning the size of the two chainrings? Or did I miss that?
I might have not I am sorry, I wil look back into it
As it is a commuter bike shouldn't it have provision for fitting a rack?
it is carbon
Would be great if it had the future shock stem. Would help justify the price increase.
yea I know I wish they invluded that too but I think the 6.0 comes with it and thats the reason for the price hike
Thanks for the review, do you think the tradeoff of this model not having FS (but has carbon fiber frame) is worthed vs the 2023 model that has FS, but it's aluminum alloy and carbon fiber?

nice video since most features are covered, it just misses the maximum tire clearance.
Thanks so much!!! 700x32c is the max for this bike
Great bike to ride in very busy areas! Upright profile nice specs!
very ncie
I was going to get this bike but my LBS never got one, i got a synapse 105 instead
yea we had these bikes at the beginign of the pandemic and sold through them so fast, finally we have seen stock again... it took like 8 months
Given that it is one step down from a full-on road bike, can you still be able to take it on gravel/dirt trails or should I just go with the Sirrus X?
if your main idea is to go on gravel or dirt or even if your going to be using it 50/50 for gravel I would go the X model because u get so much more versatileness out of it
Please note that the 4.0 has and aluminum body and a carbon fork.
Yes the new one does. This one does not. This was the older model 2021 or 2022. This is how they came

when they shifted to Japan, US made bikes became a legend. So does Japan to Taiwan, now Cambodia. while the price keep higher 😀
I can not find this bike anymore size M :(
Fine bike. Do you have sirrus 4.0 in store? Which is your location?

we do not anymore I am sorry
Is there a problem with these bikes breakin
nope, they had a recall on the crank but it is fixed now
Is the front tyre easy to get off ,is it relatively light
yes yes
Great video - where's the link to buy the bike?
I don’t have any right now but you can send me an email if you like. Gcperformanceyt@gmail.com

yea but then that price would be so much, prob like 2500

They're easier on the spine too.

yes

smetimes i ave seen that but it should not be like that
You can just move the black plastic thing if that’s what you mean?
That cranks the one which needs recalling
This one had th ewhite dot so the recall was performed on this model here
Is it basically a gravel bike without drops? Or are there more differences. Still bit confused over hybrid vs gravel
somewhat but more of a road bike who you have the hybrid handlebar the tires are nto meant for gravel on here
got my wife the 900$ 1x with the fat tires and its probably funner to ride than my venge vias!
How dare you LOL
that is awesome
