The sad thing is, them doing this shows it’s obviously about the money and not the player bases enjoyment. Honestly it’s kinda insulting. Why introduce something and then immediately drop it? They knew Gohan was the main seller and they purposely pulled the step up for tickets. Is this why synch hasn’t occurred just yet? They’re using Global insight against Global to cash out as much as possible before we do “synch” with JP?

Well If you do the math 1000 in part one with get u like 28 multis while 1000 in part 2 with get u 32 multis ( this include the ticket multis ).More multis but no guaranteed feature. Less chance to pull beast.
For those wondering, the 3+1 and tickets format will be a 78.5% chance of pulling Gohan with 1000 stones. The Part 1 step-up format would’ve been 83.4% chance.

Removing the step up for part 2 banners has got to be the sourest taste in my mouth this game could ever give me. They do part 1 banners genuinely so well, and then out of the blue change it back within the same celebration. That’s the dumbest flubber nugget move they could’ve done. I’m not defending any decision ever made by dokkan ever again. Hell. Go summon in part 1 again while the discounts are still live. Still a better deal than part 2, even if beast is the #1 unit. We keep making light of these continuous L’s by Dokkan but in reality things like this are slowly killing this game. It’s frustrating because most of these mistakes are things that shouldn’t be a problem but the devs make it into one.

Called it. Now way were they gonna be this generous with such an anticipated unit, we all remember how many people decided they simply wouldn’t summon on part one because of beast right? That line of thought is exactly why they gave part one banners the system they did. They knew people would be tempted to not summon at all for part one, which would be disastrous PR, because of how high value and anticipated beast Gohan is.
I decided to do one more rotation on Gogeta's banner because of this. Went from 1500+ to 1700+ without a single copy ☠️. I'm hoping to get Beast, even if they removed the format. Good luck on your summons everyone 🙏

They made the part 1 banners have the step up feature just to decrease the likelihood of people skipping them and to have an excuse to make a huge WE ARE DOKKAN announcement about it. Omatsu is truly a genius in finding all these ways to create these fumbles.

It’s pretty obvious why they changed the formats, they knew people would save and skip/light spend on part 1 so to make more money they changed the format for part 2.

Yeah idk why they put the old 3+1 format on the Part 2 banners. But I might laugh if I pull Beast on that format since I wasn’t able to pull either Gogeta or Broly on the 7 step format.
I've only ever spent money on the game during hype banner moments. This will be a typical situation where I do a few multis then save my stones for the next big hype banner. I'm sure I'm not the only one that spends more when I feel like the game is rewarding.

I was warning people last year when they introduced these 4 banner celebrations with the carnival banners. People defended them like crazy but now it clear that nothing is off limits. It’s pointless to summon on part 1 units until the last few hours and all info is out.

They're doing it because they know how hype Beast Gohan is. Part 1 format was 205 stones to get 7 multi-summons with 1 guaranteed banner unit on 7. Now, you get 5 summons (counting the the free one and tickets for 1 multi) and no guaranteed, for 200.

not surprised about this tbh. at the end of the day, it is a game made purely to take your money, so in their defense this is a good tactic. yes this is definitely upsetting for many, myself included, but im at least glad the step ups happened at all, cuz they definitely couldve decided to not do that format. beast is one of the best units they've released period, and since beast is such a hype form for many, it just makes sense. that being said, hope everyone has the best of luck doing their summons for beast and gammas!

Its not surprising at all. Im sure they are well aware how popular beast is, they offered the discounts in part 1 to reduce player stone count. They will have first time pay to play users because of how must have Gohan is. Just simple business.
my biggest issue is how shady this feels and I feel like it would not have been that big an issue if they didn't even to the step ups in part one I just puts a real sour taste in everyone's mouth and really leans into the FOMO mind set (Fear of missing out) and kinda blatantly shows they only did it to try and takes people stones so people might have to buy more or fear missing out on Beast as someone who speaks from the "sane" part of the global community this has not been a terrible anniversary we just want consistency and a little transparency the fact they didn't do a Dokkan live for BEAST Gohan also really makes me feel like they knew this was 100% going to get a lot of backlash and I think this whole situations will leave a much saltier takes in the peoples mouth who don't manage to pull Beast. Please Dokkan just give us consistancy and transparency that's all I ask. Here hoping after the sync we don't have to deal with another situation like this again. I think the reason they're doing the old way of summons for Part 2 is to test each variation of summoning in one celebration to see how they perform. And in the Survey after the 9th Anniversary we can tell them which one we prefered
Not really, we know damn well 7 step is significantly better with guaranteed LR at the end. Its just a scheme to have players spend stones on broly and gogeta (which otherwise would happen less likely if its 3 step and no guarantee), hence less DS for beasthan.
Plus they know we are going to pull for beasthan regardless so no point in making the banner cost-efficient for players.
Got shafted on the step ups, so it literally can't be any worse trying for Gohan without them.
I dropped 750 on Broly and got shafted. I was ok with dropping that much because I still had 1700 left for gohan and figured with the step up banner I had a good chance. I would not have dropped that much on Broly if I knew this…. Straight up dirty.

It was very obvious that the part 1 banner was planned that way since everyone knew Beast was coming and they wanted to give a solid motivation for people to buy and spend stones. Otherwise am sure a good number of players would have saved fully for the Beast. And now that it's Beast, there is no reason, according to Dokkan team, to use the same format. It's all about money.. 😤
I have a bad feeling that they are just gonna get rid of the free tickets entirely, and not give us the step up from this point on. When we were celebrating golden week separately from Jp we had free tickets for every multi, now that we celebrate golden week together they took it away instead of just adding it to Jp. This kinda why I didn’t want the synch to happen. Since they did that with golden week why wouldn’t they just do that for anniversary also? In my opinion if they do this I feel like it would just make the game worse. Like the whole point of the game is to summon for units (especially during anniversary) if they just make a worse to summon then like what is the point in catching the games up? Like why do I care that I could use beast six months ago if you’re just gonna make it harder for me to get him.

The only reason I could see Dokkan changing the banners, besides Beast Gohan being the best unit and it’s a money grab, is to ask players on the next survey which banners did they like most between tickets or guaranteed feature for future banners
Had to wait 2 days after Part 1 for banners. Then had to wait 7 days after part 2 for the banners. Then those banners were nerfed for us... While this is disappointing, though not surprising, the featured banner gave me nothing but the same unit I've rainbowed over and over and over again in part 1. inb4 the next anniversary has us waiting until the next anniversary after it for the banners...

Despite it saying buy 3 get 1 free, it's unconfirmed what amount of dragon stones you must spend for one summon even if they are saying if you spend 500 stones you get a certain amount of free summons and tickets.
Losing the guaranteed featured step sucks but now that we got the ezas early in part 2, I wonder what does that leave in store for part 3?

Honestly with all of this being treated like this, they're playing into the people's concerns about the unification. Because they could easily have done the 2 week schedule instead of this 3 and a half week difference. I mean, imagine if they decided to add one of the Tanabata banners(or any of the others, used Tanabata just as to maintain the level of hype) to Part 3 to help things along. Dokkan and logic never mix.
Statisticaly the new format is objectively better no argue with that.... but this is a game of chances and the other formats like this that will be back didn't shift me so horribly like this one...(the guaranted fetaured ssr were only i say seriously only the last characters of the feature list like krillan and the other from the other banner i forgot.) so I'm (personally) actually happy for this format they went for part 2.

There are two things, one good and one bad. The bad being the old formats return, but the good is ui and ssbe eza appear to be a week earlier than I had seen people saying. And with no ex part due to it being added to golden week I could see maybe cell max and toppo squeezed into August before wwc.

Their wording during the dokkan now made it clear that the special gfssr step-up will be for part 1 only. I'd been saying that but no one believed me. Well, look who's crying now.
This is a general thought that I had about part 1 banner(copypasted from another of my comment because I'm lazy): 1-The easiest one, the Featured format on the Carnival banner doesn't do shit; 90% of the time is the same SSR crap as always, 9%maybe a Carnival that nobody uses anymore, and 1%of the time is the chased character, so a normal banner;
2-you lose in terms of n. of summons in general, if people did the calculations correctly,(it doesn't matter much the quantity of stones in general, based on how many multi you have to do) but even then as simple as it could be, you trade more chances for a singular garateed featured that 80%of the times doesn't matter at all(now I'm talking about the DF banner);
3-remember that this banners sucks ass, because you just want the new units, and don't make the argument "but for new players" because nowday the playerbase of Dokkan is established so maybe there's 1 new player in 100 or even in 1000(the example is that we wouldn't have that much problem with the returning campaigns back if there were a lot of new player).

Not sure but maybe since the format is already in the previous data download it's redundant to included it again into the current data download. As for the tickets, part 2 has a different asset so that's explain the new assets for the tickets.
I think the clear reasoning for why they decided to not have the same step up system for part 2 as they had in part 1 is simply because (and I know it’s not the case) but I think more people would’ve skipped part 1 and gone all in on part 2, so making part 1 enticing (even though people like me were gonna summon for Gogeta and Broly regardless) would’ve made people wanna spend before Beast instead of not touching the banners much and just going for Beast. Personally it’s not the end of the world, we’re still ready for Beast and Gammas fosho. 873 stones so far🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️
This is 100% just to grab more money, and makes sense because of the unit we talking about, but after this the game could go insanely down in the future, and it's 100% deserved imo.
Why are we assuming we will get tickets with summons? I think it’s likely, but again, thats assuming the logical situation exists. I think they want to do away with tickets on Global, and I also think they have no clue what they want to do with this version. So we’ll see
I'm tired of that shit move global dokkan is doing. They seem to want the worst for global players, and Idk why. In 5.5 years of playing this game, this is the most disappointed I've ever been playing dokkan.
Isn't this technically more consistent with what they normally do every year since they never do tickets for part 2?
I 100% agree that it should have been the same format for part 1 and part 2.
Personally I don't have a format that I prefer, I think there is a solid point to be made for both of them.
