This helped me a bit on deciding. Splurged a little bit and got an 8" Premier Kiritsuke. It'll be a long time before I need another knife again.

Thank you for this video. Finally convinced the old lady to let me buy a set of Shun and been debating between the 2.

When it comes to the handle. I love the classic, is the shape the same with the premier?

the classic has a left-handed version, which switches the D shape bulge on the handle.

What do you mean when you say "the premier has a little more umph"?

The premier is also 100% for both left and right hand user witch the classic is not due too a spécific handgrip and way of the sharp was done. 👍

Free sharpening isn't free. You have to pay for shipping to Shun and include $15 for them to ship back to you. So probably $30 to $40.

I think it's inaccurate to say they're "full tang" because the blade and the metal handles are not originally the same piece of metal. They're welded together.

Shun is made in japan and an good quality but Cutco has great quality and forever guarantee and free sharpening. the shun has to be sharpened more

Ha Ha HA you are real funny!!! Cutco also uses dumb hookers to sell their products and rips them off in the process. Not even comparable.. cutco is a ford or chevy and Shun is a Rolls Royce!
