I just got the AirPods 3 for my birthday and I’m sitting here with my ears throbbing 😞 I use these at night when I can’t sleep (which is often) so I don’t wake my husband. I’m so disappointed! I asked the rep at the Apple Store about the fit. He said the pros would definitely hurt my ears. But these hurt after only 30 minutes of wear.
This is exactly my experience! We must have the exact same ears. I bought the AirPod 3’s, put them on and immediately thought something felt off. But the sound was great so I was happy. Then I went on a run, and I couldn’t run 10 feet without my left AirPod slipping out. If I don’t push it back in, it eventually falls out completely. On my 2 mile run I had to stop and adjust them nonstop. Eventually I gave up and put them back in the case for the rest of my run. I don’t care how good the sound is. If they don’t stay in my ear, then nothing else matters. I’m gonna return them tomorrow. Such a disappointment considering the AirPod 1’s fit so perfectly in my ears.
I’m unfortunately having to return my Gen 3 AirPods because they just don’t fit right. I love the new features, the sound quality is great, but these do not stay put like the Gen 2 and earlier. It really sucks. Turns out it’s not an uncommon problem. A ton of people are experiencing this same issue. Most of us also have trouble with rubber tipped earbuds, which is why we don’t use the Pro’s. Sad to say but I’m going to have to return to Gen 2. Hoping by some miracle Apple releases a new model with the old design and Gen 3 features. So damn disappointed.
While you lose some features the Pixel Buds A fit well and sound great. Definitely recommended. From: an apple user who’s ears don’t work well with AirPods
I love these. Way better than the pros and original. Pros always fell out of my ears no matter what tip I tried. These stay put for some reason When I first put them in I thought they weren’t secure. Brilliant design. I can’t make these fall out !
@@kieranreynolds5896 sure, but I prefer products that don’t crap out or become obsolete in a year or two. I have an iPhone, AirPods and MacBook not because I’m a fanboy, but because apple products just work and continue to receive support for literally years.
I've been using AirPods since launch day of gen 1 in December of 2016. All models to date have fit me well, but I was never happy with the sound of gen 1 & 2. The first AirPods that featured high quality audio were AirPods Pro, IMO. Subsequently, AirPods Max took audio to another level, and they are still my favorite headphones for luxurious listening. With AirPods 3rd gen, Apple has greatly improved upon the first iteration of AirPods. Featuring clean, crisp vocals and rich bass, these easily sound 10x better than gen 1 & 2.
I too tried the AirPods Pro and bought the AirPods 3 and the left bud kept falling out when I would work out. I tried to make them work but much like you the originals always fit the best. I agree with your assessment. I hope they update the form factor of the AirPods 2 in the future.
I’ve been looking for an honest review because I just KNOW I’m not going crazy! I’m having the same issues with my 3rd generation AirPods. They won’t stay in my ear and people always say I sound far away (I guess because the AirPod is always slipping out). They sound AMAZING but the design is just not for me! I miss the tap as well. The pinch is not for me. I have the FIRST gen AirPods. I’ve had them since 2019. The mic isn’t that good on them anymore, but I’m definitely sticking beside them.
I returned my AirPods Pro, AirPods 3 and Beats Fit Pro. The Beats fit in my ear the best of the 3 but would hurt after 30-45 minutes. The 3s and Pro didn’t stay in my ears. The AirPods 2 I’ve never had any problems with ear fatigue or slippage.
I agree with you. Apple should’ve kept the gen 2 design and upgrade it sound quality and length. The gen 3 does not fit my ears right, I barely move and is coming off my right ear mainly. I just had a baby and wanted to have some nice wireless headphones to listen to audiobooks or podcasts while nursing (to all mamas out there, we know our hands are busy with baby) but even when I smile it keeps falling off
I’m REALLY disappointed with AirPods 3. Really. I felt 100% safe using AirPods 1. With AirPods 3 it feel like it’s going to fell with a simple smile. Totally agree with the reviews.
This was my fear with the new design. 2nd gen is perfect for me and now Apple isn’t selling them with the wireless charging case anymore - it’s 90€ extra.
I have the same experience with the AP 2 as SP has with the AP3. Slipping out all the time, sounds bad and for some reason I just can’t call with them. People are reporting that I’m like I was under water. Was working okay the first 2 months but since then I barely use it. And it’s clean, I cleaned it and didn’t help. For me the pro is the only way as that stays in my ears and the sound quality is much better. I always used to buy Sony in ear headsets and I loved them. I think everybody just needs to find what fits their ears.
Just did an A-B comparison and the 3’s definitely sound better than the Pros. They are a little louder, have a clearer sound and have a little more bass. They were also more comfortable in my ears but everyone’s ears are different. In my opinion, the only reason to have the Pros is if they feel better in your ears and if you need noise cancellation.
Had the AirPod 2s and the left headphone went out on me . Tried the 3’s out . HATE the fit. They always feel like they’re about to fall out and they do a good amount of the time. I love the sweat and water resistance since I use them in the gym …but once again the fit is bad for the gym and also you hear EVERYTHING. Returning and getting the 2’s again. Hopefully apple makes a new pair with the fit of the 2’s but durability and water resistance like the 3’s
I 100% agree with you. On mine the right one had coil whine and they both make buzzing when there’s no music on. Phone call sound quality sounded far better on gen 2 without question. Bass for music for gen 3 slightly better but that’s the only thing going for it.
there is like absolutely no way your ears have failed you this bad😭🙏🙏 maybe the gen 2 pros will fit since they got a extra small ear tip size but idk if you wanna risk paying the price for them
Yup, I switched back to my 2's. I only use pods for phone calls, Zoom, etc., I don't use them to listen to music. I could not handle the 3's constantly falling out of my ear, it was extremely annoying! I'm with you, 2's fit SO WELL, I even bought another pair to have as a backup when my current 2's stop holding a charge. Eventually, Apple will discontinue the 2's so I wanted to make sure I had a backup.
im having the same problem with mine. My airpods 3 sounds a little more dull than my airpods 2 and its frustrating. shouldn't t they be better altogether?
I like the airpods 3 for aesthetic reasons, but very concerned that it might fall out than the other previous airpods. I guess I'll stick to the classic wired earpods.
Used the AirPods 3 for about a week. Tried hard to like them, but frankly I found that they didn’t sound any better than the AirPods 2. The reason is because the 3’s would not go as deep into my ear as the 2’s, so any advantage of having a larger driver was negated. Plus, the 3’s did not fit as snugly as the 2’s. Ears are all shaped differently, so everyone’s experience will be unique.
My wife just bought me some AirPods 3 for Valentines Day. I was hyped because the battery life on my AirPods 2 is really bad now as I’ve had them for a while. Immediately when I put the AirPods 3 into my ear the fit felt off. After trying to find a good position, I’ve been experiencing ear pain. They’ve also been slipping out of my ear as well. They are so bulky for me, maybe I have small ears as well. My older gen fit perfectly in my ear, I could keep them in all day and not even notice them. Sadly, the 3rd gen is not the same. I feel really bad because my wife spent $150 on these but I don’t think I’ll be able to use them for long. I can already feel them slipping out of my ear as I type this comment smh 🤦🏽
I totally agree, I've been disappointed from the day I purchased them. They constantly feel like they are going to fall out of my ears. when they start to slip out of my ear the sound quality diminishes. I even bought some silicone covers to help keep them in place but even using them they will eventually slip out of my ear. The sound quality is a bit of a disappointment as well, I expected better sound, my iPhone corrected ear buds have significantly better sound. The connectivity is good, talk to text and mic are also good.
I have had the gen 1’s for about 3 years now and I wanted to upgrade….the 3’s is a night and day difference in sound quality but I’m having to return them because they don’t fit me right😐
I like someone who makes their honest opinion and not following the typical TH-cam reviews, especially when you compared tapping vs pressing features. I find the tapping way better
Thanks for this video. I guess I’ll stick with my AirPods 2. I had the pros but got rid of them cause the fit and if these are the same then I’ll fall back from the 3’s. What a shame.
Returning the gen3. Did not cancel like I wanted and did not fit the ear! I could hear all of the outside music in the gym. Couldn’t use them to their fullest
It honestly took me a week to adjust to airpods 3. At first I had a feeling that they were falling out, but later my ear adjusted and they work perfectly.
Thanks for this video. Now I have a better feeling that I purchased the AirPods 2 again (after loosing my pods). They always fitted perfect for me and sometimes I even forget that I had them on. Just from the looks the AirPod 3 looks too wide.
The 2nd gen were too loose in my ears, gen 3 fit so perfectly I don't even feel them. Just goes to show it's impossible to make an one-size-fits-all product.
totally agree. pods 2 fit perfect!! had the pro and send them back. lost them while doing sports when sweat started. Hate the pressure tap that makes them fall out even more..
I’ve bought the airpods 3’s today. I really like the fit and spacial audio is amazing! My ears are pretty small but you have to put the airpod as far in your ear as you can. You also need to get used to these airpods. I thnky they’re fireeeee
Same experience. Lost my AirPods 2 and upgraded to the 3rd gen. They pretty much fall out due to gravity; forget about running. Lol. I guess I gotta go back to the 2. Ugh.
i have the same issue with the slippage i just went to amazon and ordered some ear hooks that slip right on the stem they come thursday ill come back to he commets and reply to myself to let yall know if the hooks help at all. but overall with the airpods three i love them, but they just dont stay in my ear the sound quality is great it reallly blocks out the outside noise but as someone who owns 2s pros and 3s if ur not so much of a fan of the silicon in ur ears stick with the 2s but if u dont really mind the silicon tips i highly recomend the pros out of any airpod (excluding the airpods max)
Listen I’ll admit the 3rd gen sound better but I still love the 2nd gen. The 3rd just keep slipping out and I find it very annoying. I can’t wear the 3rd gen if I’m going to the gym or if I know I’m going to be doing a lot of movement because they slip out so much. I’ve had them fall out multiple times. Sigh I was very disappointed with the 3rd Gen.
I have big ears so the Gen 3's fit perfectly. I loved the Airpods Pro but they are definitely not for doing exercises where you're pouring major sweat. Basically if the Airpods Gen 1 or 2 feel kinda loose in your ears then these are perfect for you. I get a nice snug fit and I don't have to worry about them ever falling out when I'm running laps or running on the treadmill.
Yea its very important to note that we all have different ear sizes/shapes. Personally, I chose the AirPods 3 because I prefer the open ended design (as they are similar to typical wired headphones) and its fits in my ears perfectly. I can run with these, lift weights with these etc. I use to have Air Pods Pro and had to sell them because one of them would always fall out of my ear when I either moved my jaw or do any form of exercise movement. AirPods 3 are the best AirPods imo. Hope this helps
(4:30) Six hours instead of four, thirty hours instead of twenty-four, plus MagSafe, and I do not like silicone tips in my ear canal, also price is still less even if the Pros are on sale… …
For me, I prefer the Airpods 2 over the Pros. But for sound, the old EarPods that came with the phone back then has it. The AirPods Pro’s are cool, but they don’t fit my ears too. I’ve tried all three tips, and it didn’t stay it. It loosens and I can notice them in my ear than the 2nd gens.
The only problem of having tiny ears is that comfort is everything at the end of the day, almost all earbuds nowadays are designed to sound good forgetting some people like me have minion ears. Thats why I had to return my airpods 3 and still playing my 2's... I just ordered a JBL Live Flex cause based on the earbud's dimensions they should fit same as airpods2.
I just purchased a pair of pro 2’s after my 2nd gen barely held a charge from daily use for 3 years and man I was so bummed to find out how poorly fit my ears. The left was fine but the right no matter what just wouldn’t stay in. Fingers crossed they keep the gen 2 and just make an updated SE or something
For me the AirPods 3 fit OK but they caused ear pain (top part of the AirPods seems to cause skin chafing) so I had to return them. It's a real bummer because I love spatial audio for podcasts. I will have to check out AirPods 2 given your review.
Bought mine yesterday, but here where I live you’re not allowed to return these kinds of things bc of hygiene. Now I’m stuk with a pair of headphones that don’t fit. I’m desperately searching for solutions now!😞
I think I’m gonna have to return mine unfortunately , sometimes when my right airpod connects it doesn’t play any sound even though it’s connected , and they fall out my ears 😬
Airpods 2 fit my ear perfectly and has more bass than 3. 3 has better mid/treble which is great but i feel they’re too big to sit in my ear nicely, and also not enough bass. Im all about that bass, so will return my 2s
my issue with it is not only the falling off, but it also have connection problem. mine plays even while inside the box. it also continues to play even not in my ear. these are going back for sure.
I bought gen 3 and returned within the hour! They sound great! But having to click the button always took them out of my ear! The stem is to short and fell out 3 times in one hour…. Went back to the 2 gen and im a happy camper. APPLE GIVE IS GEN 3 features on a gen 2 design! 😩🙌🏻 except the click option lol keep the tap! Jejeje😅
I had the very 1st AirPods and they stuck in my ear without any issue but I recently got the 3s and for some reason the one on the left side doesn’t stay in my ear and hurts but I have no issue with the right.
Does the Airpods 2 have the same shape thus sit on the ear like the wired earpods? Was thinking whether to get 2 or 3 but the fit is concerning cause where I live I can’t return them once I’ve bought the product
the airpods 2 fit so well, but i got the airpods 3 very recently and the fit of the airpods 3 isn't as good as the airpods 2. They have extremely good sound, features and are so clean but my ears are smaller so.
I'm planning to get one either gen 2 or 3. I'll be mainly using them for phone calls and casual music listening. I'm not going for the pros cuz i don't mind lacking ANC or so features since I won't be using them anyway. But I'm finding hard to decided between 2 and 3. what gen3 attracts me over the gen2 is the 6 hrs battery life (whereas gen2 gets 5hrs) and sweat & water resistant. But I've read many comments people saying gen2 fits better for them rather than gen3. In where i live, I could get gen2 for $110. I've never tried them personally what I mainly use is the orginal lighting apple earphones with wired and I feel like getting a pair of airpods. By the way, those wired earphones fit me well I must say. I also have a small ear canal. Any suggestions please.
It's not the AirPods it's the user's ear. For me gen 2 and 3 work fine. I did not consider the AirPods Pro because of the silicone tip. Had a bad experience with my Jabbra. Great sound but they never stayed in my ears no matter what size or material of the tips. So frustrating. I agree the men 2 feel a bit better but the gen 3 still fit security in my ears. So fit is the all important variable. Gen 2 fits your ear better but as you stated you have a smaller ear than most thus the gen 3 might be a good fit. For those who don't like the silicon tips AirPods Pro is not a choice even with the sound cancellation and the price comparison. So, to each his own.
It really depends since we all of our or ears are different as you mentioned So it may work for some, it may not work for others. It’s sucks but it is what it is
just bought airpods3 .it is the first time i buy airpods, it just can’t fit into my ear,and i can’t return it back.i thought this airpods3is really a failure
These fit in my ears a lot better than the pros I just returned. I feel like Garbo returning them back because they were in my ears and ya I clean them every day, but ears are just ew. However, they move out of my ears and I don’t understand. Gen 1 pods fit my ear perfectly and idk how they are universal tips. I hardly ever heard complaints about Gen 1, but after looking at reviews the Pros and 3 are really bad with this. Might go crazy and try the Ray Cons at this point with them plethora of creator codes and see if those work.
I’m so sad that the 3s hurt my ears, I was so excited for the new features but they just don’t fit right and they hurt, my left ear in particular

I’ve been using the AirPods 3 since July of 2022 and I love the I can’t even feel them in my ear there like apart of me 10/10 highly recommended
You just answered my most pressing questions (which no other video did). I just liked and subscribed! Thank you!!!
I’ve bought the airpods 3’s today. I really like the fit and spacial audio is amazing! My ears are pretty small but you have to put the airpod as far in your ear as you can. You also need to get used to these airpods. I thnky they’re fireeeee
Do you have to twist them also when you put the AirPods in your ear because I do that and they don’t stay
Same issue, falls out of my ears. Love the sound but will have to sadly return this. Gen 2 fit was perfect!
Having moved from bose buds to airpods 3rd generation I find everything strange. They don’t fit securely into my ears.
My right airpod is loser than the left ear which fits so well. I really like them but the fit varies.
For me they sound is quite when I only wear one idk if I’m just going deaf from listening to music very loud or it’s the AirPod it’s self?
Everyone I know including myself as the same problem. I particularly have large ears and constantly have to push them back in.
so thankful that I found your video. I was really contemplating which AirPods to get
My AirPods 3 leak A LOT OF SOUND especially when I’m blasting music
(4:30) Six hours instead of four, thirty hours instead of twenty-four, plus MagSafe, and I do not like silicone tips in my ear canal, also price is still less even if the Pros are on sale…
…
Hey man - great review. Really like your production values too! Very slick! Well done, thanks!
When is say to unlock wirh face does my iPhone gets lock too ? If my phone is not lock
Fingers crossed they keep the gen 2 and just make an updated SE or something
slips out my ear too, old ones didn't so much
For me the AirPods 3 fit OK but they caused ear pain (top part of the AirPods seems to cause skin chafing) so I had to return them.
Does it have the background noise ?? Like you can hear things in the background like the pro does ??
Airpods 1&2 fit so good but man do 3’s sound way better. Still, i’d prefer them not actually hurting my ears compared to better sound
Finally they feel like they are for me tho combine the sound and fit from the pro with comfort of gen 1&2
Love your review. I get anxious with others but I felt relaxed watching yours. Thanks for coming as you are.
That was my problem with the pros too when I lost my 1s and got the pros. I’m gonna try the 3s and return if I’m not a fan
Jejeje😅
Does anyone need to put the volume way up to have loud music ?? Or it’s just me. The Audio isn’t so loud
I’m thinking about buying them but I’m afraid they won’t fit well
This editing style is amazing, nice job
I’ll wait for the Pro’s 2
Took the Pods 3 back 🤷♂️
I'm planning to get one either gen 2 or 3.
Now I kinda want to try AirPods 3 - the 1st and 2nd gen AirPods did not fit my ears at all.
They have static noise in mine.
Great review! I was having the same issues. Appreciate your feedback.
i hated the pros but the airpods 3 are 10/10 for me & fit/sound perfect
Im getting the 3s tomorrow, hope it fits well
So what happened?, did it fit well?
I had the same issue they fall off how can that be fixed 😩😩😩
Might go crazy and try the Ray Cons at this point with them plethora of creator codes and see if those work.
found this video cause im having exactly the same issue. im going back to 2nd gen.
