    They might be trying, but we had an ex-pupil of the school I work in come to give a talk to our RAF Air Cadets - he made selection as a pilot, and after FIVE YEARS, he is starting his fast jet training at Valley! He's been on hold more than he has been in training.

      Very true and I was in the RN in the 70s but let`s not undermine the good work these great people are doing. They are very professional and capable but it is the politicians, we should be urging to increase numbers and capability.

      I think it’s a mistake to get rid of the Hercules. Also tornado. But we should be contacting our mp’s and telling them we have to have more training. If the war in Ukraine tells us anything it’s quality (trained soldiers) can prevail over numbers.

      How do drones protect transport aircraft? Or AWACS. Or move at Mach speed onto a target?

      We're a very long way from having no pilots.

    • @petesjk
      @petesjk ปีที่แล้ว

      This is a definite no. The USAF is actually losing young pilots because they’re being encouraged to fly drones instead. This basically is a sure way to limit your flight career, if you ever even get a chance to get cockpit training.
