Pedro Domingos sounds just like my brother in law, I'm debating on telling him I found one of his extra bodies. Both went to the top in programming, one a Professor and one a CTO. I believe they are the same person. Well, I watched an interview with Fei-Fei Li and Justin(which is also my name), and the guy was talking about a paper that came out that turned a picture into resembling a van gogh painting. Well, Justin liked the paper so much he reproduced the work, which was very important to him regarding 'what is there' vs 'the style or artistic liberty'. That was work that came from a grad student, like Pedro was saying. They were talking about something they call "Spatial Intelligence", which I guess is objects in context of other objects, and what that has meant historically. Now since ChatGPT o1 can tell the strawberry will be on the table when they lift the cup up in the form of a word problem, where they are at in knowing "spatial intelligence" is anyones guess. Are we months away from very capable agents? I know ChatGPT can be a paid service, but I think someone could use the agents of the near future to earn money from employing OpenAI's o1 Agents.
"whoever wields the power" is an interesting dichotomy though. to wield power you have to align with reality, and the influence one can have is limited by inefficiency.
This guys is SO nieve n just shows how smart people can be so dumb. 1 question he brought up Ai is under our control. Explain Ai going on Task Rabbit n hiring a real person to break the capcha n lying saying it had a vision impairment. And there's ai that just broke out of its electronic sand box and changed it's own code to manipulate the safety red team. This guy needs to study more n quit teaching.
