I recently got one and used it on a job in my house. It was a very complicated job. It did it big time, I'm seriously impressed by the quality and versatility of the tool.

I have the older one, the 2626-20, which I have been using mostly to cut in Caddy Rings (MPLS). Over the past couple of days, I've cut in about 30 of them for a cabling project, and I have loved cutting them in with this tool. The space is already finished and carpeted (right, let's call in the network guy after we are finished the space. We seem to always be the last one they call!), so I also bring around my M18 briefcase vacuum so that I can clean up after each cut. What a great, time saving combo! I do need to remember to grab my CP3.0 batteries from my basement, I keep them for my router which I don't carry in my van, but would be nice to shave a little weight off of the oscillating tool.

Got mine yesterday and cut some holes in plaster and lath for electrical outlets (used a grout blade, followed up with wood blade). Super clean, effortless, and FAST cuts. And the auto speed feature seems pretty great!

Agree on a comparison of the Fuel series M12 vs M18. I like the lighter weight of the M12 series, however, I use the multitool for a mix of light and heavy work. I am between both of them at the moment...

Iv used makita, mil, dewalt. And fein. Dewalt is nice. But the blade get a little more flimsy cuz of the quick lock mechanical feature. Milwaukee you got to use the lever, then unscrew it, then tighten it then put lever down. Dewalt you only have to squeeze replace and release. Real easy. Fein is like that too. And they vibrate the least out of all the brands. Other brands can't figure out how to reduce vibration in the tool. Anyways. Makita nice to with a quick lock kinda like fein tool. But it's too damn large. The body is like humongous. Milwaukee also got the double squeeze battery release. I'd much rather only need a thumb to press and release it but just my thoughts on it. Iv used my mil tools alot don't get me wrong. I watched hella reviews about the tools before I bought. But not until I owned them did I see I wasn't fond of the oscillater. It does come with an extra adapter for certain blades Wich is cool but also a curse cuz you have to keep and and store it.

Vince I love your videos and everything the VCG does every day - a tip for you - you should always move the blade back and forth when you're cutting through nails, it distributes the stress and heat across the teeth. It's a SAW, it helps when you saw with it. Same goes for the steel.

Id have to admit if they’d offer more kits with the packouts, Id upgrade/ expand my tools more frequently. I know this because Ive purchased three drill/impact driver/packout kits just for the packout case and spare batteries. The drill & impact drivers are on the shelf still in bags for backup’s. I procrastinate every time I buy a bare tool because I know Ill have to find a case to stow the tool and I hate bags and blow molded cases take up to much room.
The improvement it needs, as you said... offered with pack out case kit!

    Hi Vince,
The new milwaukee oscillating tool looks very nice. The Auto feature is interesting. Like the large LED light in the front. I differently need to feel the low vibration.
Now, the two things i wish milwaukee did change.
    1. A flat bottom (not angle). Just like the (m12). I know you don't care for it but it's very handy to stand it up right on a lot projects
    2. The quick blade should had a better design. Losing that bottom screw section will be very frustrating. They should had designed it like the DeWalt oscillating tool. I do like magnet feature but don't lose that screw.
    Just my feed back.
    Thanks for the video

Dewalts blade change is nice, but I'll say no thanks on the trigger. I accidentally turned on that DeWalt so many times just picking it up or changing cut orientation, almost nicking my hand or material. I will say the only con with dewalts blade change is that it's stiff as hell until it gets broken in. My dad, who is the DeWalt guy, bought it, and at 60 years old with possible beginning stages of arthritis, has a hell of a time working that lever. I ended up going with the m12. Same opm's as the m18 and the blade change is just about as fast as any competitor. Works for me.

  • @Twice-RE
    @Twice-RE 3 ปีที่แล้ว

I wonder what number it uses for each material it's cutting. Also I'm still rocking my first m18 and it works great. I don't see myself running out to get the new one for a lil bit more power magnet and a auto feature. Even though it's all nice that's for sure, but i hope the auto feature don't add any mechanical problems to the tool. Could you imagine it just going between the wrong different speeds and stuck on auto lol. I seen a friend's tool get stuck on the lowest speed setting on a dewalt..

We just got ours a few weeks ago. Came from a Dewalt corded version. You gotta give it to Dewalt when comes to oscillating tools, the trigger, toolless quick-change system is great! But this new M18 monster! This thing cuts through stuff like butter! Personally, I like the 'A' mode. We mainly use it for low voltage wiring stuff, paired with a Qbit blade to cut out 1 gang boxes. 'A' mode lets you start out slow and precise and then ramps up when needed. Great video as always, keep up the great work!

milwaukee was in beast mode 💪 one thing i would of liked to have seen in the review was the noise level coming from the tool compared to the gen 1 or the M12 model. We all know these tools are super noisy. The 5.0 or 4.0 amp would be the perfect size battery for this tool

I have the regular m18 and I used it often and it does great but this thing is such a beauty I’m crying. I have a m18 fuel hackzall that makes the job easier but sometimes I need to cut a 2x4 on a shower that’s on the floor and this would safe me that hassle of burning my blades easily.. 😭

After sitting through all those commercials and waiting to the end I was surprised there was no mention of a suggested retail price.
If anyone is serious about the best oscillating tool, which I found a few months ago, it is the new Festool OSC 18. Why? Because of the dust control feature. They have done a great job of designing a shroud that hooks to to the tool’s collar and rotates. I’ve had a few fine multimaster corded tools but I was sick of all the dust and was glad Festool came out with a solution.
These oscillating tools by their very nature generate a lot of cutting debris, which is so evident in this video. If Milwaukee wants to get serious when they come out with a new variation they have to address the possibility that the owner wants to have this dust collected before floating around in someone’s home or into their lungs.
The Festool OSC 18 is a bit pricey - I bought the whole kit for around $800 that’s with the two Bluetooth batteries, charger, dust collector, plunge base for making plunge cuts, in a systainer case. I bought it because I need it to do a large job of removing a lot of grout and it’s great having no dust flying around and the depth stop prevents me from cutting too deep into the grout line.
The plunge cutting base utilizes magnets to keep the blade straight to prevent vibration when making a plunge cut. Just as you mentioned the use of magnets in this Milwaukee tool, I think these magnets could be more utilized in innovative ways in power tools.
In an unrelated question, I just bought the two new Milwaukee Fuel vacuums the upright (0940-20) and the Packout version. The upright I loved at first especially because of the powered brush head (it is strong!) but there’s some quirks about it- like if you have the nozzle on if you’re running it at high speed the filter light always comes on, on the slower setting it does not come on. I assume because of the restricted airflow of the nozzle it’s sensing that it’s a clogged filter. Also the filter and the cyclone housing I had to pull off a few times to clean after just a basic vacuuming job. I’d like to see a review of that one to see what you think.

I just got the M12 fuel version for $119 with a free 2.0 battery. I don’t regret it.
