And thanks for spreading the sunscreen love - I am ginger and people are always rolling their eyes at my sun protection measures! Love from the UK and extra love to the little white floof.

    You always make me laugh! Love your humor!! I wonder if you would talk about any cosmetic skin procedures you’ve personally had done? If you wouldn’t mind. Like have you done any microdermabrasion, chemical peels, lasers, filler, Botox, etc..? If you did, would love to know how effective you thought they were for you. Thank you!!! You are stunning! ✨💕

    I just bought CeraVe Moisturizing Cream in Thailand, and this one was made in France. The ingredients are all different than the ones listed on their official site. After closer inspection, I think they may have taken out all of the Parabens, but the other ingredients are different too. Do you have an opinion on this?
    US cerave in the tub:
    Purified Water, Glycerin, Ceteareth-20 and Cetearyl Alcohol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Alcohol, Ceramide 3, Ceramide 6-II, Ceramide 1, Hyaluronic Acid, Cholesterol, Petrolatum, Dimethicone, Potassium Phosphate, Dipotassium Phosphate, Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Phytosphingosine, Carbomer, Xanthan Gum
    European version:
    Aqua/Water, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cetyl Alcohol, Ceteareth-20, Petrolatum, Dimethicone, Phenoxyethanol, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Potassium Phosphate, Ethylhexyglycerin, Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate, Disodium Edta, Dipostassium Phosphate, Ceramide NP, Ceramide AP, Phytoshingosine, Cholesterol, Xanthan Gum, Carbomer, Sodium Hyaluronate, Tocopherol, Ceramide EOP.

    I have been really enjoying the Elta MD AM and PM therapy. No stinging on my sensitive face and also have tried several of their sunscreen and no stinging as well. Cerave lotion and their SA cleaner do not sting however the rest of their products do sting my face off and on. I am hoping you will review Elta MD skincare one time.

    I've had that problem where I've been hesitant to reapply sunscreen because I didn't want it to mess up my makeup at work. In fact, before I started watching your channel, it didn't even occur to me that I should reapply sunscreen throughout the day unless I was at the beach! I switched to using a tinted sunscreen as my base (in place of powder or liquid foundation) to give me a smooth bronzed look. I actually like it better because it's not as heavy and I think makes me look younger. I then reapply a regular sunscreen (I like the Biore Japanese ones you recommended awhile back) and it doesn't mess up my makeup much.

      @@susie7336 I have used several different ones. In the summer, I use Colorescience Tint Du Soleil which is really nice (the color I have is a little too dark for me in the winter). I also used Lancome BB tinted sunscreen. This winter I am using mostly BeautyCounter Dew Skin which goes on nicely. I would love it if Dr Dray reviews BeatyCounter at some point. I also sometimes use Elta MD tinted sunscreen.

    Dr Dray - the Altruist sunscreen - I got it and really like it. Even with whatever fees/shipping, I was shocked that it cost less than a tube of my normal one! (Neutrogena Clear Face) It's very moisturizing and non-stinging. It makes me look a little oily/dewy but no problems with a white cast and you have to really try hard to muster up any rolled/bally pieces. Very happy - thank you for the review/recommendation

    Wish me luck... I just received the Elta MD UV Sport, Exuviance SPF50, Colorscience 3 in 1 eye and the Color Science SPF powder. Let's see if this all goes well with a full face of makeup. FYI, after full face of makeup, I reapply the sunscreen in a patting motion all over my face. Sometimes it does disrupt the foundation. Oh well, then I add some face powder. Works for me!

    Hi Dr Dray! Happy Saturday! I know you’re incredibly busy but did have a question if you (or any fellow fans) had any advice on sun protection for kiddos. I’ve just turned 40 and am proud to say that my sun protection routine is great and I’ve never been one to bake in the sun anyhow so don’t have nearly the extent of sun damage that some friends do, BUT I struggle to find any advice on what is appropriate for children. I have 2 in elementary school and 1 in preschool. They all are obviously outdoors for travel to and from school, play outdoors during school hours most days for 15 mins and go outside to play after school (4-6 pm). What should their school day look like as far as sunscreen goes? They’re always protected during the summer months but it’s the school days and cumulative sun exposure from that that concerns me. Thanks in advance for any advice!!

    Ive been using Altreno and I love it. My skin has been handling it beautifully with daily use.
    I use a hyaluronic acid cream paired with the heavy CeraVe moisturizer following my Altreno application. Is there any reason to assume hyaluronic acid should or should not be used on top of a Retin A product? Skin seems to be doing well but I’m curious about the interaction. If there is any on a cellular level. Thanks, as always, for your education and dedication to this field!

    • @jacqueline716
      @jacqueline716 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use Altreno too. I wouldn’t think there would be any issue with that considering that Altreno incorporates hyaluronic acid in its formula. I use Neutrogena Hydro Boost (which contains hyaluronic acid) on top of a layer of Altreno. However, I usually wait like 20-30 minutes before putting it on.

    • @roshawilliams77
      @roshawilliams77 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      So do u put the altreno on first then the moisturize or vice versa??

    • @jacqueline716
      @jacqueline716 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Personally, I wash my face, wait 20 minutes (so my face is completely dry), then I apply Altreno and let it absorb. I then wait another 20 minutes and then apply Neutrogena Hydroboost moisturizer. However, Altreno already has some moisturizing elements in it like hyaluronic acid (which is what differentiates it from other tretinoin products on the market) so even if I don’t use moisturizer, my face won’t be super flaky and dry in the morning.

    Hi Dr Dray! Just wondering what you think of mixing a sunscreen with avobenzone with makeup including titanium dioxde, octionxate or zinc oxide. Heard that it's degrading the avobenzone but I would like to hear your input

    • @DrDrayzday
      @DrDrayzday  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have discussed that in other videos. The FDA does not allow the combination of tiO2 and avobenzone in sunscreens due to theoretical acceleration of degradation. However, this does not really hold up in actual use, clinically. Generally it is okay to layer mineral chemical spfs. Mineral makeup without spf, however, theoretically could compromise the spf of the chemical sunscreen underneath

Or, if I apply sunscreen liberally, is it okay to sit in the sun for a little bit (like maybe 20 minutes to get some Vitamin D)? I apply sunscreen so that I don't burn, but eventually over the course of a summer, I get a slight tan even with sunscreen use. How bad is that? Thank you!

      Try using something like the Neutrogena Hydro Boost (the fragrance free one for dry skin, there are two!) under the Cerave.
      The way, I understand it, those two have different purposes. The Hydro Boost is the one doing the ‚moisterizing‘ and the more occlusive Cerave seals it in.
      I did the same thing, btw...totally mistreated my oily, acne prone skin for years. It has much improved now. I could tell a difference in how it felt within a couple of days, but it took several weeks for the excessive oiling to start regulating. I now have almost normal skin and can go through the day without washing every couple hours. Keep at it and give it a little more time 🙂
      Also: a humidifier is a really good idea with dry skin during the heating period. Dry air is baaad for dry skin!
