Thank you Juliet - It is really better to be safe than sorry. A flasher can be seen for miles away and a red colour draws your attention quickly. As to the gentleman below - with reference to machinery - especially a wood or metal lathe - that is really dangerous. There were times when I was wood turning, and the turning chisel "diggs in" - takes equipment out of your hands really forcefully. That was what I meant. A small drill bit is not really a problem - I think.
I flew thermals in a very busy airspace and then i was like 20m away, and the canopy started to flash. I could really well see them, so very useful in traffic
Can this young woman just fly without you bloody perverts commenting on her looks every time she posts? Oddly, I’ve never seen anyone make a comment about Stefan Langer’s looks, for which he could either be offended or grateful, his choice. How about allowing JS the same bit of respect? She’s not a doll for you boys to fondle. She’s a pilot, and a good one.
Well you are so sweet! Even your crew had fun by instructing you you could have had installed a bicycle rear lamp as we,, but business is business. Kisses. Have s good flying season, looking forward to your contempt, and new videos.
I got the SOTECC flasher and I am planning to install this week. I wish I did it earlier since I was flying the a snow covered ridge this weekend with other gliders here in Spain. You still have to be very alert even if you got a flasher.. It does help a lot.. white glider, snow, where did he/she go?
I was wondering what happens when you eject the canopy? Does the cable have a magnetic connection to automatically detach in case of emergency canopy ejection? Or is it always connected?
Hi Ties, as I showed in the beginning of the video there is a D-Sub plug which is right under the canopy and detaches in case of the emergency canopy ejection ☺️
Yes I agree with below comment - I do not understand some persons comments. For the life of me. I mean it's obvious the reason - for the flasher. What or where are these peoples minds??? Also the drill size - as you mentioned it is very small. How would it get caught up. ?? Magic???
I had a hard time watching you drill with open hair. That is very dangerous especially outside with wind. (We had a safety introduction showing us injuries of hair caught in turning machines.)
Why don't you install proper safely lights approved by the FIA or EASA around the glider green, red and white strobe lights ? I know it's not requirement for gliders but it will be better for safety and a nice project for you to do a video on it even better will be to install night lights on the fuselage and wings like the once used by the military it's a specific blue light. Thank's for the great video you look beautiful as always.
@@fifi23o5 Yes the green, red and white lights are classified as SAFETY device for navigation and on every plane there are strobe lights in addition to the normal navigation lights every plane has them as per FIA and EASA requirment. As for the night lights you can inform yourselves by looking online and you will see the lights they are used for close formation flying and radio silence flying to avoid crashing in each others plane. And yes, I know that gliders don't fly at night but they do fly late summer nights with low visibility.
@@antoniok4735 What you call night lights is aplicable to military aircraft, flying with nav lights and strobes off, flying in close formation by night, neither of which gliders do. What does FIA have to do with? Planes have nothing to do with cars. Function, colour and position of the lights have more in common with marine vessels, from which they actually derived. Nav lights are what name implies and their use is mandatory for night flying, by day you actually can't see them from a distance. And not every plane has strobes. Another matter are anti-collision lights, it's name implies their function. In this category you can find strobes and beacons. Lights this lady mounted on her glider are actually beacons. P.S.: I don't need to inform mysef online, I know that from my PPL course....
In gliders battery capacity is very limited, therfore we don't use lights. also these lights are only possible because of efficient LEDs. They usually only turn on when FLARM detects a possible collision. (always on and manual mode is also available)
Another reason for not having wing tip lights as you describe is that gliders are often de-rigged for retrieval from outlandings; there would have to be wiring to the tips plus disconnects at the wing roots. I accept your well-intentioned idea, but it's simply not practical for gliders.
Keep in mind that flying is a big hazard! Never take off when the weather is bad. Make sure that there are thermals, to keep you up. Avoid days with crosswinds on your runway. And enjoy, when you can, omit when you don't feel it. The sailplane can't save you! It is like a bubble in the winds. And kisses.
2:45 Pro tip: when drilling any type of fiberglass or carbon, etc, use painters tape pressed firmly to the surface.
Yes I definitely a great advice 💪🏼 usually I do that but since this hole had to be enlarged anyways it was a quick & dirty solution 🌝
Our panels are 100% identical....! Except I now need to buy a flash unit...😂

Well said, that man! You're not the only one to think that.
When are you putting Neo winglets on your LS-4? You can’t let Stefan have winglets on his LS-3 and you have nothing. 😜

Happy landings!
The camera did not do this justice, They are really bright and work well.
Great Job !!!
Thank you I appreciate it!❤️🔥

Yesss I agree! I’d love to go gliding in Spain btw 😛💪🏼

@@julietsierra sorry I missed that. Great to hear that such safety measures are taken.
Thanks for your reply.
Hi Julia! Do you do the annual maintenance on the LS4 by yourself?
Hello JS,
The discount code does not work.
Do you have a transponder installed?
gute Arbeit, kann man empfehlen👍

Did you miss the fact that the drill should spin clock wise and not counterclockwise?
First like, like the comment people would say. 😁😅
I should think of a special reward for this 😂❤️🏆
Такая молодец!
Редко девушки занимаются модернизацией техники!
There is a decent tip just below my "needless" comment. I do not fly, however it is interesting just to see what people do, fly etc. Not so??
I don’t think your comment is needless, since I appreciate your support and it somehow restores my faith in mankind
