    This one has to be one of the best ones,,,the white patches on it replicate the sun shine on leaves etc,,,,goes to show the Krauts got it right back then.

    This is the first video I have not been able to pick you out in a single cut. Best camo I've seen so far for your area. The colors are perfect for the light patches and dark patches from the sun shining through the trees breaking up the sunlight.

    At 1:47 you almost became invisible. That lightness in the pattern goes well with the light filtering through the canopy.

    The Germans were ahead of their time with camo, especially in employing it in such numbers as they did. One of my personal favourites because it not only works great but is very aesthetically appealing. I have a ww2 repro German padded uniform in this and I love it

    This camouflage pattern done really well. I didn't think it would at first,but it was hard to find in the video. Reminds me of the predator camouflage all the sharp angles in it.

  • @crominion6045
    @crominion6045 5 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    This stuff is great. One thing that separates this pattern from so many others is the inclusion of large light-colored areas. It really does help immensely in breaking up the human shape by avoiding the "dark blob" issue that effects so many other patterns. Modern civilian patterns that use this technique to great effect are ASAT and Predator.

    • @marcoh.3467
      @marcoh.3467 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Mazer Rackham we are still masters of camouflage! The "Flecktarn" patern is very effective in both variants Greenland and dessert. The next patern that will be introduced to the Bundeswehr is a new version of Flecktarn called "Multitarn", it provides very good camouflage in different environments.

    • @davidmarshall7390
      @davidmarshall7390 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I use Flecktarn quite a bit myself and find it quite excellent - what I meant was, that the Germans seemed to pioneer a lot of this stuff when conventional military thinking seemed to be khaki, khaki or khaki ;)

    This camo is amazing. Very simple, very early(and therefore destined for unperfection) and yet usually extremelly effective. Although I did manage to find this camo the easiest to find(apart from camo non-matching to environment, and of course, I haven't seen all camo patterns so I can only compare with: multicam, vz95, vz60, swiss leibermuster, digital, flecktarn, oakleaf, tiger and rauchtarn) during airsoft. Unless it's very sunny, or unless it's in rocky area, it can be a bit too bright.

    Just very interesting, I think. If one compare this pattern to the Belgian Brush Stroke pattern, they both work really really well, but the philosophy and "construction" of the patterns are quite different with color choice and the shape of the colored areas. These small "rainy" lines are common though. But they do the job really good as said, I think, but with a different approach.

      Ha, I know, I hate the damn skeeters too. I gotta put up with them, ticks and chiggers in the spring/summer time. That's the best part about filming during the winter time, none of those damn things out there. In regards to my opinions, I try to be unbiased about the patterns in the videos. Therefor I leave my opinion out of these videos generally and leave it up to the viewers.

      I've done a couple videos on Swiss Liebermuster, the German stuff is too rare and expensive for me to do.

    looks very effective,
    ... those nazis were miles ahead on their use and development of camo patterns,
    (ive got a quilted reversible suit in a variation of this camo pattern)

      Well they learned early on that camo would really help with survival of manpower and equipment when everything of theirs was just grey.

      i read an article years ago, and in it there was a german complaining about their grey uniforms making them targets. While also pointing out how well the Russian and British khaki tones worked as a base color.
      (he's lucky he wasn't French and wearing sky blue, lol)

      I've heard of it, and how shelter halfs and smocks were issued as a immediate temp measure of helping to conceal their troops, in the pattern in the video too. Yea I've seen colorized pictures of french troops from ww1, if you survived in the trenches long enough that blue would get soaked in mud and brown up hopefully.

    Ive seen all your videos, and while this works great, id still say when you wore the east German rain pattern and the plain coyote brown, i simply could not spot you at all.

    In my opinion, this pattern very good in summer sunny weather with sunny bleaks. Really not in tropics))) In the middle-north places

    Is this a good camouflage for winter season? (No snow) Or are there better ones for that season?

    • @jelkel25

      Austrian army pea pattern is very effective in winter, it depends where you are.

      Splinter pattern is too light, in terms of shades around the dark tree of winter. But splinter would work well on the forest floor.
