He’s learning quite a lot! He complains, though, so I do go out by myself when he is in school whenever possible- it’s a more pleasant experience for me, lol!
Thank you for sharing your dying and knitting experiences, I just came across your channel this evening and have been binge watching all your plant dying episodes. I just wanted to share some experiences I had with dying with Cortinarius this autumn, I got a range of colors from 4 different dye lots and I wonder if the color pigment is sensitive to temperature. The dye bath that I boiled (without yarn) became a warm orange-brown, while the dye bath that stayed below 80 Celsius/ 170 Fahrenheit? gave a beautiful cold red. If I remember correctly the ph was the same in both, about 6 I think. With a tin mordant I got a bright deep red and I also got a dirty purple with iron mordant that I did after the dye-bath. It is no problem doing the iron mordant afterwards, if you want your yarn darker or turn yellow yarns green. I also got a purple-ish tone when I dyed Cortinarius on a natural grey sheep base. Best of luck with your channel and crafting!
I love that you take Owen with you!
