So cool. I lived in rural no where growing up but I loved Batteltech. So I bought a pile of these cards back in the day and just played vs myself with frankensteined decks. So finally getting to see someone actually PLAYING the game is awesome (read the rules over and over as a kid but until you are actually playing the game vs someone some rules didn't click) Recently I discovered there was a mod on Table Top Simulator that had the complete series uploaded into it. So I have been spending the last week just building random old decks (based on old Inquest articles I still have) and playing them vs each other. Wish I was there for that stream, would have loved talking about BT CCG.
I am still playing this today and it is awesome. Never played back in the day, someone showed me the game a few years ago and I was hooked. Bought everything off e-bay for a while and now own almost every card a least once.
Check out our new Kickstarter for REDLINE: Tactical Card Combat. We've developed a spiritual successor/love letter to the Btech ccg and we're currently live on Kickstarter. We worked hard to keep the ideas of the game in place but polish it with some modern gaming mechanics. Thanks! www.kickstarter.com/projects/camx/redline-tactical-card-combat
Nathan's primer on the lore was well done. Ive been into battletech since i was a child in the 80s, and have read MANY of the novels. Comparing it to GoT in space is pretty apt. Some great nevelists have contributed to the story over the years. Stackpole, blaine pardoe, william keith, etc
The Clans are the descendants of Alexander Kerensky and the Star League Defence Forces. A multinational force which which left the Inner Sphere in secret with the great general after the complete collapse of the Star League.
Great video. Always happy to see a great game get some love. Speaking of love, we love Battletech and its CCG so much, we developed a spiritual successor to it! Check out REDLINE: Tactical Card Combat on our Kickstarter now. It features simultaneous combat, mission based area control, designs by a Battletech artist and a lot more. www.kickstarter.com/projects/camx/redline-tactical-card-combat
Can't wait for Dune! I was always interested in that one. Dune's one of the best books, one of the best board games, and one of the worst movies. ;) I've got to know how the CCG fares. (I'm editing in a winky face here just in case! Don't hurt me, movie fans!)
@@TabletopRoyale Nice, I've been busting my ass trying to find a card game friend, it's damn near impossible. I have 50+ 2 player card games. I can coerce someone to play 1 or 2 games off the beaten path every now and again, but they never become repeat players. I haven't sat down in the shop since the pandemic started. Had 1 yugioh friend who moved, I taught him alot of magic details ...yugioh is 1 game I don't think I really like, there's something about it that pisses me off, probably all the text that just doesn't seem natural to me. I moved from dallas to little rock, way fewer spots out here ...kinda sucks. If it aint mtg, yugi, or poke, people mostly have no time for it, out here atleast ...smh. Had a ufs & sw destiny group out here too ...but that's all they wanted to play, it's a struggle being a board game player that also likes card games ...most card gamers stick to their one or 2 games ...I like the variety too. Yall got any tips for me?
@@foyoGames Totally understand the struggle. Once stores open again I'd say just try to participate in as many games/open play/dnd things as you can and hopefully one of those groups resonates with you and they will be down for a variety of games
@@TabletopRoyale good tip, I hear ya, I'll do some of that when things are clear 15months from now. & til then will game vicariously through yall & covenant.
I love to hear History lessons from people that actually know what they are talking about
Really enjoyed this. Listening to Nathan tell his history with the game was very interesting and brought back some memories.

We had a lot of fun with it! We are glad we can get some game play out for these old games and we may return to a few of them in the future.

I still play here as well with my buddies.

I also still play this with friends and family.

Great short summary of the history of this game. I am also getting into this one to a degree as well as other LCGs you've necro'd.

Hey now we love the Dune movie in this household!
Cool, I remember playing a little bit of this game when I was younger. Do you think you'll do Doomtown or Babylon 5?
Nice, from the Jade Phoenix Trilogy. Aidan Pryde's mech in Tukayyid.
Disgused Coordinates was banned, not Inside Job. It was reword on Commander's Edition. A good combo for a Gunslinger with Bearer of Mckensey Hammer.
I still have my decks with also for Free Rasalhague Republic then Comstar, Davion, Steiner, Kurita, Liao. Clans are Falcon and Ghost Bear.
How hard is this to get a hold of these days? Huge Battletech guy, but I wasn't into CCGs back then.
Did u guys meet @ the cardshop?
We did! most of our current friend group met each other from playing Magic at the local comic shop.
