It was just a beautfiul tribute from start to end. I think we were all fas of hockey and Johnny Hockey during this game. I'm a rare Habs and Leafs fan (I'm surrounded by Leafs fans including my daughter who was born one Leafs playoffs round success ago). The Gaudreau family must have felt such a range of emotions during this.
Blue Jackets did a phenomenal job on the Johnny Gaudreau tribute. The family really needed that, and the team. I balled throughout the whole tribute. It really hit me when I saw the parents of Johnny holding onto each other sharing tears 😢
Thank you for this, a shame the NHL couldn't make this an ESPN game tonight! Like you, no more tears left. RIP Johnny & Matty! You boys will be missed and never forgotten! ❤

I really believe that every player can see something of themselves in Johnny and Matt. It could just as easily be any one of them. I don't doubt for a minute that every player in that Panther locker room insisted on doing anything they could to honor the family and Johnny's memory.
I couldn't be happier that Columbus had Mearsy on the call too. Many years of his as the Pens voice, he completely understands the moment and how to shut up.
That is so beautiful. This moment was perfect. It was perfect, down to the last minute details. RIP to Johnny Hockey. Columbus and Calgary need to retire #13 in honor of him. Moments like this is what makes hockey awesome.
Another heartbreaking moment ... there has been so many. Didn't know one could have so many tears for a person not even belonging to your family...or maybe it's just the hockey family being so huge...
Such a beautiful thing to watch. I’m a grown man and I cried my eyes out during their little tribute to Johnny and Mathew. Such an inspiration to the younger generation of players and won’t be forgotten anytime soon. We love you Johnny hockey, rest easy buddy, the shifts over.

New Jersey State Police said 43-year-old Sean Higgins was driving the third car behind the brothers on their bikes around 8 p.m. when he tried to pass the other two vehicles on the left. One of the vehicles, an SUV closest to the brothers, started moving to the left to create room for the brothers. Higgins accelerated around that SUV on the RIGHT, driving straight into the Gaudreau brothers, who both died at the scene.
