  • I love to travel but I don't like to be empty-handed. See what I travel with, and yes it does involve sewing lol
Here is the video for the quilt in the background

I travel with small knitting projects. Instead of scissors that might be banned by airlines, I found that finger or toenail clippers work to clip yarn and thread.

Wow, I love the box and magnet idea. I carry little projects to work everyday and this makes so much sense. I have sewed myself a little pouch to carry with me, but the scissors get lost at the bottom, as do the needles. You always have such great ideas. (just a thought-I was told one time it's a good idea when traveling on an airplane to always bring a change of undergarments in the carry on bag with you-you never know when your luggage will be lost.) Lol ! Thanks again Laura.

Love your Dr Seuss quote! It's amazing how many things fit into your sewing box. Your current cross stitch project is very cute. The rose will be very pretty! Thanks for sharing.

I love your sewing box for home but for travel I would have one made out of something lighter weight such as plastic ect.

Awesome as always. Love your magnet ideas! I use an empty floss container for cutting threads on the plane.

Fiskars sells travel scissors. $6 at Wal-Mart. Also available at Hobby Lobby, probably Amazon too. They're allowed on air travel.

Lovely box!! With cross stitching projects, when I had so many babies, I got used to using a small pair of nail clippers. This kept my little ones from having access to scissors, and nail clippers are much cheaper to keep multiple sets when I mislaid one, lol. I haven't flown since 2008 so I don't know if these are allowed in planes or not.

Thanks for your ideas. Notice you also carried a hand fan. Any pattern or ideas for a keepsake or safe keeping bag for a hand fan? To keep it protected in the bag

TSA allows scissors up to 3inches from the pivot point I've never had trouble with a small pair of scissors that aren't very pointy....

I think the Kleenex are for your tears when you prick your finger. I have heard that circular knitting needles are acceptable when straight ones are not. They are handy for not poking your neighbours.
