Beautiful. I live in Dorset. Born in Stockton. Am looking forward to returning home to Stockton next year . For good. So much beauty in Stockton. Have lived in Dorset forty years, in Poole. It has great beaches but does not have the character or history that Stockton has. I can't wait to come home. To a small Victorian terrace. Lovely.😉
I think you're going to be very disappointed if you're looking for the old beauty and character, there's very little, if any, of it left! I moved to Somerset from Yarm back in 2010. One of my last memories of Stockton was, walking along the front of the Castlegate centre and it smelling like one long urinal. Thankfully that eyesore is now history too! Stay in Poole.
I lived there from 1960 until 1995. Character, soul, heart, all torn out of the town. From Dan T Smith and his friends up north, to the present administration, every change for the worst.
A shadow of it's former self. Weekends it would be booming with the market running from the parish church to the taxi rank past the shambles. Then the council started screwing constantly with the high street layout and killed it. Weekend nights were also very busy with hundreds and hundreds of people out enjoying the pubs and nightclubs. It's now a place I very rarely spend any time in.

@@kateballam6942 Thanks for your comment I used to live in Swanage for about 8 years like you say the Stockton has more character than Poole.
