Amazing series. Jeremy Brett is the quintessential Holmes. And the man who portrays Professor Moriarty - Eric Porter - does the role brilliant justice, as well. I watched this series religiously with my mom as a kid....loved it then and I still enjoy it today.
If Moriarty hadn't been so cheap, he might have gotten away with it. Keep the redheaded gentleman busy until after the job is done. Thus no Sherlock Holmes. Real smart, Mr. Moriarty.
